Chapter 20 (Jasmine's P.O.V.) I just finished going though one of my playlists on my laptop when I hear something in the hall. I roll my eyes; it better not be one of my teammates. It's so late at night, -well, if you consider 11 being late-, so there shouldn't really be anyone in the hall. I sit silently, listening. What I recognize as two distinct voices, were still at it at the hallway. With a sigh, I push myself from my bed and sit up. I continue remaining silent, trying to hear what was being said. "I know that, what do you think I am? Stupid?" Male voice. So, it was either Dieon or Jack that was having an argument. Time for me to show up. I get off my bed, walk to wards my door, and open the door. I silently walk down the hallway. Another voice responds, more feminine and unfamiliar, responds. I presume it's either Kisa or Madison. "Maybe." "What is going on?" I ask, not trying to keep out my annoyance. I look to see that Jack and Madison were the cause of the voices. "If you could get him out I'd tell you," Madison tells me, a pleading look on her face. I raise an eyebrow; maybe some girl issues that she was to embarrassed to talk about in front of him. "Make me," Jack replies. "Maybe I will if you don't shut your trap!" I snap. I glare at him; his display of immaturity just pissed me off. In response, Jack rolls his eyes back at me. Nice. I look at Madison, sympathetically, "I can't really make him get out. You all share this dorm--" What was that buzzing? I cut myself from talking, looking around, listening intently. "Do you hear that? That buzzzing...." "Yeah," Madison and Jack respond in unison. "What is it?" I ask, wondering if either of them had some kind of gadget that had some kind of frequency. Or maybe it was coming from behind the wall. Possibly, the noise can be coming from another room, or, another person. Just maybe it could also be-- "I have no idea. I was hoping you would," Madison says slowly, shaking her head at the same time. Since I'm team leader, right? Damn, I'm not God to know everything. I open my mouth when Jack cuts in, "Well, you two have fun." I stare at him; was he joking? "And where do you think you're going?" "Back to my bed," he replies, bluntly. I blink. I shake my head and sputtered, "And you don't have any urge, what so ever, to figure out what this buzzing is?" My voice becomes higher. "Not even a care?" He raises an eyebrow in response and shakes his head, "Why... should I? Because, if this is a test, I'm going to fail it purposely. I'm going to bed, good night." He shot a disgusted look at Madison before he left, not giving me another look. Why does he do that? Leave right before I say something! I'm not stupid or dorky enough to yell something back at him as he walks away. That's just not cool. I turn to Madison and let go a huff. "Well, Madison... do you want to investigate it?" She nods vigorously and I laugh. She says, "It's rather interesting." I nod, "Hey, want to work on it tomorrow? I'm sorry to sound like a drag but I'm exhausted." Madison did show her disappointment and I put my hand on her shoulder and squeeze it. I add in, "I promise." "Fine," Madison responds. She smiles and says, "I think my phones fully charged. I need to make a call." I let go and say, "You do that. G'night." "Good night," She responds ---------------------------------------------------------- I stare at my team, smiling. They were all looking back at me as if I was psychotic to smile at a moment like this. But they were new, they would learn to ease up soon. Despite the supposed situation of the world's fate being in our hands at the moment. First mission; dismantling a bomb. One that will destroy all of Earth. "Alright, your jobs," I begin but get cut off. "What? I thought we were just going to work on it together!" Kelly says, pouting. I snort, "No... we need specific duties." "Oh," She says. Dieon let's out a laugh and Kelly glares at him. "Alright. Kisa and Madison will be look out. You two must knock out anyone who approaches as quickly as possible." "I can handle that," Madison says, tying her hair up in some ballerina-style bun. "Whatever," Kisa responds but she did show excitement. "Jack and Kelly, I want you two to disarm the bomb, alright? I hope you paid some attention in the Machinery class a while ago." I tell them. Kelly nods, enthusiastically, as Jack shrugs. Dieon looks at me and I turn to him, "You will be their bodyguard, alright?" "Ah... sure," Dieon nods but Kelly cuts in, "Try not getting us killed? You did a great job with me and Carter." Dieon glares at her back while I wait impatiently for the old, married couple to finish. Madison raises a hand and I acknowledge her. She asks, "What will you be doing?" I realize that I didn't really have anything to do, "I might as well help keep look out. Alright, count down from five to one, you guys better go." They nod and I smile; finally, I think my team is starting to come around. I begin. "Five... four... three... two... one!" Immediately, Dieon charges forward, Kelly and Jack right behind him. They were heading for the bomb, which materialized with the rest of the holographic room. Kisa and Madison bolts towards the sides of me as I run right behind the first three, already heading for one guy dressed in black. With one round house kick, I send him some feet flying away from me. "Why can't we go in!" Kelly whined, pointedly towards Dieon. I turn to see the three of them, circling the bomb. My eyes widen and I look at Dieon, expectantly. Jack interrupts, "There are sensors circling it, that can set the bomb off!" "Tecno geek, dismantle it already!" Kelly snaps at him, back. I roll my eyes, just in time to see another man charging towards me. I dodge his kick and use that momentum to grab his stretched leg and flip him. "I'm... working on it!" Jack snaps, leaning down and already plugging in his laptop, getting busy with typing. Kelly waits, impatiently, as she pulls out the small tools for the bomb. A beep came from the laptop and Jack smiles. Kelly yells at Dieon, "Go! He got the sensors off!" She pokes Dieon and Dieon stumbles in. That was when Jack mentions, "No... I just got into the bomb's security--" A shrill sound came, making all of us cover our ears. Suddenly, a computerized female voice comes on the speakers, "The bomb will explode in 15 seconds." "FIFTEEN SECONDS?!" Kisa yells. "Why don't you give us till midnight, lady?" I laugh despite the situation and turn towards Kelly and Dieon, to see the two of them pushing each other. Jack is still busy, typing the computer, as Kelly rushes to unpack the rest of her material. Another man, rather large than the rest, charges at me. I start off with jumping in the air, very kung-fu-movie, and hit him on the forehead. He falls to the ground and I stand over him, looking back at the bomb. Kelly finally picks the proper wires out by 9 seconds. She has her pliers in her hands when she begins arguing with Dieon again. Jack was talking towards them, too, but the two were too busy to hear him. The guy by my feet starts to move. I grumble and use my watch to aim at his neck and shoot a sleep shot needle. The speaker announces, '3'. I groan, louder, and yell. "You guys, HURRY!" Kelly has the red wire in hand, about to snip it when Dieon tackles her away, grabbing the plier, and cuts the blue wire. Mission failed. The room disappears and the feeling of lying on one of the big, hard-back chairs come to me. I rip of my helmet, just in time to hear Kelly yell, "Fucking retard." I shake my head; damn those two. If they JUST put their differences aside. ---------------------------------------------------------- You guys are a disappointment. You're supposed to be a bloody TEAM! I stare at the sky, resting my head against my hand, elbow propped against the balcony's frame. I'm constantly re-thinking the pep talk I'm going to tell my teammates. After the failed mission, Dieon and Kelly got lost, leaving the four of us in the afternoon. So what if we screwed up in this mission? Most newbs do! But it didn't mean they had to leave! When will they learn to take their failures as opportunities for learning? I blink and shake my head; when did I start thinking like my Uncle John? A.K.A., friggin corny? I continue looking at the sky when I hear footsteps approaching. I tense but besides that, show no visible sign of awareness. Just when I wanted to be left ALONE! Jack's voice comes behind me, "What are you doing out here on a night like this?" I look at him, confused. Why does he ask so many obvious questions? "Well... it's beautiful out; why wouldn't I be out on the balcony?" "What I meant was, why aren't you out strolling the country side? You don't deserve to be cooped up." From silent dude to flirter... But I wasn't about to agree that I should be outside. I didn't want to be. The last time I was out, goofing off in the fields of the school was when I had my old teammates. And I wasn't so ready to relive the memories. I speak, calmly, but in a straight voice, "Because students aren't allowed after dark." There is the exception of me but I wasn't about to point that out. He takes it the wrong way, and instead of backing off, he thinks I'm welcoming him to continue talking with me. "You memorized the rules?" Actually, I did. There weren't many rules that weren't the same-old, same-old things in other schools. I stutter but take my balance, "Well, no, but I'm familiar enough with them to at least let you know--" "What I can and cannot do. Here... I'm going to teach you a valuable lesson: Stop playing by the rules of someone else's game." I was going to quip back, how can you play a sport if you don't do so? but I keep my mouth shut. I only play by my rules. I'm only forced on certain paths. THAT, and I respect my Uncle Johnathan to at least obey his rules... sometimes. I try to think of a way of getting out of whatever he was trying to bring up, "But it's student safety! If you do, something could go terribly wrong." I'm starting to think my teammates are just plain retarded. He completely ignores what I tell him and says, "But what you forget is that it always gets better... how ever bad things get, just remember that it always gets better. Like right now, you're cooped up on this balcony." He walks out. I blink and look behind me to see him leave my room. Wait, did he just ditch me? I look back at my balcony. Maybe he realized that this balcony is spacious and decided that there was no point to continue his little monologue. I sigh, with relief, only to hear footsteps again. I groan but stop when he re-appears at the door, ropes coiled around his shoulder. He continues, "But things will get better, because I'm here to take you out of this place, and out and about for the night! No longer are you confined, but now drifting with the wind!" Drama geek. I glare at him as he starts to attach the clips and ropes at my balcony. If I had known him longer, by now I would've taken the initiative of pushing him away from the balcony and telling him to leave me alone. But since we were strangers, I was polite enough to not let my agitation surface... much. "I trust you know how to repel?" "Yeah... but--" He cuts me off. "Then I'll see you at the bottom." With that, like some weirdo, he flips off my balcony. I look over and see him slowly making his way down the building. I roll my eyes. Maybe I should leave him there. Yeah, I like the sound of that. But then again, I should get to know my teammates. I growl, head back to my room quickly to pull on a thin black turtle neck on top of the white tank I was wearing. I take my fingerless gloves, snap them on, and go back out the balcony. Once I reach near the ground, he asks, "Ready?" "Where are we going?" I ask, angrily. I struggle with the clip since I'm looking at him. "We're going to meet a friend of mine," He tells me, grabbing my hand and dragging me. I glare at him but start to tense again; just what exactly am I getting myself into?! But after what seemed like half an hour, I breath out relief when I see a stallion. A gorgeous stallion, much like one my father has in his stable. "This is Night... I bought him from a friend..." Jack is blabbering on about something while I stare at Night. His eyes were eerie, strange for a horse. I look at his immense size, powerful legs, and it's flowing hair. Beautiful. Personally, I wasn't a fan of horses but I did have a thing for anything powerful. I realized that Jack's voice wasn't buzzing in my ear. I just say, "He's beautiful..." "Don't tell him that, you'll boost his ego," He tells me and laughs. Wow, he was the first person I've met in awhile who treated animals as if they were human. He coughs and says, "Come on... he's soft; you can pet him." I hesitate before following Jack's lead to the horse. I gently stand beside the horse, trying not to make him alarmed. I stroke it's neck and smile, "Hes wonderful... and so soft, too!" He nods and just says, "Yeah...." I continue stroking him; his pelt was nicer than velvet. He wasn't even bothered by me and I was glad about that. Jack suddenly appears by my side and jumps onto Night's back. I step back, looking at him, the thought already forming in my mind before he asks me. "Want to go for a ride?" I look around and ask, "A ride?" "Yeah! Bareback of couse... he doesn't like the saddle very much," He tells me, like if this was a fact next to water being a liquid. He leans down, holding a hand out to me. He says, "Just take my hand, and I'll take you for a midnight ride." I snap at him, "Are you insane?" He blinks at me, confused for once, but I let out a laugh. I take his hand and he smiles in relief, pulling me behind him. I sat down, uncomfortably, since I wasn't used to no saddles and I was sitting in the back. "Ah... you might want to put your arms around me," Jack suggests. My eyes widen but he continues on, "You don't want to fall off." "I will manage," I respond, tugging on his shirt with the tips of my fingers. Jack shrugs and says, "Ok, Night, go!" The stallion rears up on it's hind legs. I scream, immediately on reflexes, clinging onto Jack. Damn him, he was smooth at this. Jack laughs as Night starts to gallop, "See, didn't I warn you?" "You did that on PURPOSE!" I yell back in his ears, knowing it was unnecessary but all the same I did so. He winces and says, "Hush. Now... enjoy the moment. You might never have it again." I groan and ease up, completely letting go of my grip from him. I look around, seeing the country side whiz past us as we did so. My hair was whipping across my head, my eyes squinting and slightly watering from the wind. It was a lovely night, and I had to spend it with Jack. Nice. Jack leans towards his right, causing Night to tilt and start to gallop more on the right. Great, he's talented in horseback riding. Just what kind of a person is he? I was entertained, no matter the fact that he was with me, since this was kind of fun. The silence, the galloping of Night, and the view of the country. Jack bursts my moment when he asks, "Speak. There's too much awkward silence." There is none! I roll my eyes and ask, "Like?" "Like--" He begins but starts to cough... more like hacking. I stare at him as he goes into gagging. My eyes widen and I lean over, pushing Jack aside, and tug on Night's neck, struggling to make the stallion slow down. Thankfully, he did respond and slowed down to a stop. I stare at Jack, lightly and unsurely tapping his back. "What's wrong?" I ask, not wanting to perform any sorts of CPR at the moment. "I...I swallowed a bug..." He coughs. I bust into laughter, "And you're acting like that?!" He gives one last cough and starts to breath again. After a few minutes, he turns around to look at me, "Yeah... it was pretty big." "Was it a pretty bug, too?" I ask. I start laughing again. He smiles at me creepily. I abruptly stop my laughter and stare at him, raising an eyebrow. He shook his head and turns around. I inquire, "So, Barrie, are you in proper conditions of continuing this ride?" I cross my fingers, hoping that we could go back. I was beginning to get cold and tired. He shrugs, "Maybe we should go back." Wow, not even a fight. He makes Night start again, trotting this time, heading back. He says, "Like... tell me something about yourself." "Huh?" I ask but realize he was picking the conversation from before. I shift in my spot and ask, " Like?" He glances at me, agitation showing. "If you want me to be specific, just say so. But... let's say... your background?" "I don't need to answer your questions," I inform him. Maybe I should point out to him that I'm the team leader and he's my stooge. "But I know you already know pretty much everything about me," He responds. "Like, my past, my family, my background, my education, and so on..." I groan, "Fine. I'll be fair. Persian and French. Next?" He laughs, "Oh, so you're going to answer and not explain. That's alright. How about... favorite ice cream flavor?" I snort, "Wow, you're random. French vanilla and cookie dough. Next." "Who do you like from all of us?" "From my team?" " Our team." "Oh, from my team, I like none of you." "W-W-What?" He stammers. I bust with laughter again. "I don't know any of you to judge yet. All of you are kinda neutral to me at the moment, just slightly higher or lower than the other." "Oh." "Until I get to know you guys, then I can say who I favor the most." "Do you think we have potential? At the rate some of us are fighting, I think it might take us a while to get along." "Don't worry. My old teammates seemed impossible to get along with. But we soon became best of friends." I should have never said that. "Old team?" Jack asks me. I nod, very slowly, and say, "Yeah..." "Are they around? Who's from it?" I look away, ignoring his gaze at me. "No one from here..." "Oh, so were you the youngest one or something?" "They're... dead." "I see...." My eyes begin to water and I turn away, completely. We remain silent during the rest of the ride back. Once we smoothly climbed back up my balcony, I thanked him for bringing me out but threatened him not to do it again. He only smiled at me and left, making me pissed and happy at the same time. But once the door shut, I burst with tears all over again. ---------------------------------------------------------- ((Narrative P.O.V.)) Early in the morning, as everyone was sound asleep, Jasmine walked down the hallway. She had a notepad of sticky notes in her hands, messages scrawled on the the first few. She pealed one off, stuck one individually on all her teammates doors. The message read, "Team meeting, tonight at 9." Jasmine had one thing in mind; this team needed to smarten up, soon.

Chapter 21 (Kisa's P.O.V )
I stand in my get-up for the mission, cocking a eyebrow at Jasmine, the team leader. When she says that me and Madison would be working together. I hope that chick can fight dirty, I think, before saying, “Whatever.” Trying my damnist not to get to excited. To late, my eyes lit up, a slow grin forming on my face. I tie up my hair in a ponytail, and cracked my neck.
"You will be their bodyguard, alright?" Jasmine turned towards Dieon.
Dieon nodded, "Ah... sure,", but Kelly cuts in with saying, "Try not getting us killed? You did a great job with me and Carter."
I tune them out, ready to crack both their necks. I send a huge glare at the two, a death glare. Finally they are done, when Madison raised her hand, “What will you be doing?” she asked the team leader. I turn to the team leader, and smirk.
"I might as well help keep look out. Alright, count down from five to one, you guys better go."Jasmine murmured, as if it was a last minute thought.
We all nod, taking one last look around the room, and at each other. With a big grin on her faces, like we are about to raid a candy shop, we wait for the countdown. While waiting, I take a deep breath, calming my racing heart, relaxing all my muscles. Something I learned, that worked before you went into something dangerous. I open my eyes, to hear,
“"Five... four... three... two... one!" I run towards the right of the team leader, nodding to the other side of Jasmine, motion Madison to cover that side. I only concentrate on kicking some ass.
I do a cart wheel, back flip, and kicked a dude ,dressed in black, in the gut sending him flying into the wall, cracking his head on it. It gave a loud crack, as if the back of his skull had cracked open. I giggled, slightly, watching it long enough to see another one come after me. I turn in to martial arts/street fighting mode. Long legs, have a advantage.
I turn, in time to see Kelly looking impatient, and Jack pulling out his laptop typing away. I roll my eyes, until I hear a loud shrill. I cover my ears, as a I do a no-hand back flip to cover Jack.
Suddenly, a computerized female voice comes on the speakers, "The bomb will explode in 15 seconds."
"FIFTEEN SECONDS?!"I yell. "Why don't you give us till midnight, lady?" I would have been in and out of a bank, in less then a 20 seconds, depended on what type of Security system they had.
I turn, drowning out the loud noise, and punched a skinny dude in the face. He fell flat on his ass, “Basterd.” I mutter, before, I hear the two fighting again. The two, Dieon and Kelly, “OH COME ON.”I yell, just to hear it drowned out by the shrill.
Jacks still typing on the computer, when he looks up, at the other two, then to us. With his own shake of his head, he bent over the computer again. “5!” The female voice starts, counting down.
I look to my right, Im covered in people, so is Madison. We nod to each other, and do a back flip at the same time. Taking out a few guys, at the same time. Finally, they are all down.
Both of us turn, to watch, Kelly has the red wire in her hands. Its as if the room turned all deadly, quiet. My heart, was threating to pound out of my chest. Breathing harsh, I watch Dieon tackle Kelly and cut the blue wire.
Mission Failed.
The room disappears, and Im laying on a hard-back chair. I rip of my helmet, my hair falling out of it, it a frustrated wave. I was about to yell, when Kelly yelled,“You fucking retard!”, to Dieon. That sums it up to what I want to say to both of them, my nerves on ends. I growl, at one of the teachers, who’s standing on the side of the wall, shaking his head. Im about ready to jump out of my chair, and beat some since into the two, when I was handed a cold bottle of water. That shut me up, I jump up, stripping down to my shorty shorts, and a black spegghttii strap tanktop. I look down at my sweat, covered, body. I shudder, I need a shower. I take a long drink of water, pouring it over my hair, before I ditch everyone. -------
Im in and out of the nice cold shower, in 40 minutes, after a day of combat. My wet hair, laying over my shoulder, and in shorts and a black tanktop. Drying my hair quickly, I turn on some Taking Back Sunday, but a flash back comes to me. I lean my head against the cool wall, remembering.
Madison. I swear, she’s getting on my last nerves. I open my door, quietly as I could, and walk silently past our living room, and to her room. I peak in the room, to see Madison, and Jasmine talking. I take invatory seeing what was wrong. Perfect. I spot something on the wall, of course, being as I don’t like Madison that much, I crouch in the dark hallway listening, and planning.
Jasmine turns to Madison and let out a huff. "Well, Madison... do you want to investigate it?"
I lean in, looking at what was on Madison’s wall, a small smile playing on my face as I try and listen without my mind wondering off.
She nods vigorously and Jasmine laughs. She says, "It's rather interesting."
I bet it is.
Jasmine nod, "Hey, want to work on it tomorrow? I'm sorry to sound like a drag but I'm exhausted."
Madison did shows her disappointment, Jasmine put her hand on Madison’s shoulder and squeezes it. She adds in, "I promise."
"Fine," Madison responds. She smiles and says, "I think my phones fully charged. I need to make a call."
Jasmine lets go and says, "You do that. G'night."
"Good night," Madison responds.
I quickly, run to my room, not bothering to shut my door till I made sure Jasmine was gone.
I back off, and grin, quickly pulling out my laptop, I run to the main part of the teams house, and sit down. Whenever I got a idea, I had to do something, something like hacking a couple codes, or rob a bank, discover a few things about other things. I plug in my computer, and kick up my legs on the counter, typing quickly, my head swimming with little ideas to scare the shit out of that white chick. After about ten seconds, my files came up, the files of everything I have stolen, and the notes I had taken of them.
The Mona Lisa, was my favorite of all times. I didn’t actually steal it, but I got to take a look at it, forming ideas.
I hear a growl coming from my stomach, my eyes never leaving from the calculations I was making, I made my way into the kitchen, and pulled out a box of goodies. Grabbing a granola bar, I set up camp at the kitchen counter, praying for peace.
To late.
Jasmine and Jack make their ways into the kitchen, “Hey.”I mumble, my hand flying over the piece of paper I had on my right.
They look at each other, wondering what they should do. “Hey.”they respond both at the same time, I just talked to them, without someone actually talking to me first. I crack a smile, and shake my hair out of my face. Going back to searching my files, a whole 10 minutes went bye when I felt someone leaning over me. I close my laptop, and turn slightly to see Jasmine and Jack peering at my laptop. I cock a eyebrow, and they back off, getting themselves something to eat.
Just when I thought, there would be silence, again, Dieon comes in and started pounding on Kelly’s door.
“Open up, freak.”Dieon demanding, knocking on it.
All three of us, look at him like he was crazy. When he leaned against her door, he said.“How was combat?”he asked, crossing his arms.
I look at him, with a glare. “Wouldn’t you like to know?”I sneer, I swear, stupid questions, get worse responses.
“I would’ve come, but-”Dieon was cut off by Jasmine, “You didn’t miss anything important, just some easy stuff..” He looked relieved, and disappointed at the same time. He nodded, and looked down at his feet. Just when he looked like he was getting comfortable leaning against the door, the door flew open, and he fell backwards into the room with a yell.
I burst into a fit of giggles, trying hard to breath. “Dumbass.”I laughed, watching him glare at me, and invite himself into Kelly’s room, shutting the door hard.
Just as everything was starting to cool back down, except with some random yelling coming from the old married couple. Madison walked in. She had this big smirk on, oh, that got on my nerves. I smile, a evil smile, and quickly save my files, and tilted my head watching her. Finally she looks over at us,“Hiya.”she grinned, coming into the kitchen.
I smirk,“Madison.”I say, typing in my name into the old prison files. With a smirk, I found all my old ‘cell mates’, guess its time to send a email to those bitches. I lean over my laptop, clicking on the first person, my best friend in there. Allison Matthews. My fingers flying over the laptop, as I quickly informed her what had been going on since I had gotten out, leaving out the part that I was now a spy. Asking her when she would be getting out, and so and so.
Then I heard someone squeak, “Nosey bitch.”I mutter, looking up at Madison who had turned pallor. I smirk,“What’s wrong?”I ask, looking down at the ground,“Did you see a mouse or something?”I started laughing, she glared at me.
“No.”Madison barley got out, before she split.
I turn to Jasmine, “You know?”I asked, because, she hadn’t said a word, but had just shrugged when she looked at what I was doing. She nodded,“I got files on you guys.”she smirked, at the power. I laugh, and grab my laptop, and went to my room. It was getting dark, and I wanted to finish up all of these emails, before a night class started. I open my window, swinging my left leg out, and leaned against the window-seal, placing my black laptop next to me. Soon, I was in cyber-land. (Narrative P.O.V)
Kisa heard a knock at her door, after about a hour, she rubbed her eyes, and looked at her gadget watch. 1900. Great, Kisa thought, she had been in there for two hours, and hardly got anything done. Sighing, Kisa growled, and got up running a hand through her hair.
“What?”Kisa growled, opening the door, seeing Madison. Madison just shifted her feet, and asked if she could come in. Kisa shrugged, “Don’t touch anything.”she warned her, opening the door to her room.
Kisa’s room, ha. It was a pastel green. Her favorite color, green. The curtains were a cream soda color, the pillows the same color. Along with the crown molding, it was perfect. Her bed covers were the same color as her walls, just a lighter color, a desk, white, filled up a whole corner. It had a up to date computer on it, a printer, etc:. A bookshelf, along the wall, that had little knick knacks, a stack of CDs and DVD’s, her cell phone, and even more gadgets. Along another wall, was her clippings of certain things.
Kisa sighed, and motion for Madison to sit in the comfy bubble chair that hung on the opposite wall of her bed. Laying down on her bed, she turned her eyes to Madison. “Now, Madison, what do you want?”she ask, rather rudely, it is her room. Even if they share a hall, doesn’t mean, Kisa had to be nice.
Madison glanced up at her, Kisa laughed, she was still pale as could be. She managed a tight laugh,“I was just wondering, how did you come here?”she asked, leaning back in her seat, fidgeting.
Am I that of a bad ass, Kisa thought, with a shake of her head to get rid of the thought, she sighed. “Why do you want to know?”Kisa asked, trying not to lose her cool. Not everyone knew who she was, and just because she went to prison, stole a few things, kicked a few ass’, and could get into anything she wanted, without getting caught, didn’t mean she was a bad person.
She looks uneasy, “Well, I, uh, I’m just wondering.”she answered, with a smile.
Kisa sighed, and turn to her, with a shrug. “Well, it all happened at school.” Laying her head in her arms, her dark hair, following around her shoulders, the soft glow of the lamp glowed over her naturally tanned body, her long legs stretched out. “I was eating lunch, when some cops came up, and took me to the police department. From there, the told me what they wanted me to do, and I agreed. My life wasn’t easy, before this.”she told her, with a cold voice. “That’s all you have to know.”
Madison, didn’t look pleased, “You know what I mean.”she muttered, looking at Kisa. Kisa laughed, “Look, Madison, I don’t know you, I don’t want to know you, so I’d advise you to watch your mouth.”she warned, her eyes turning deadly. “I don’t tell people things for their own good,”she sat up, “But if you insist on knowing what you saw on my laptop.”she knew she had meant that.“Then fine, I’ll tell you. I was in prison, for stealing, kicking people’s ass’, the normal things.”she smiled, “Prison would be hell for a girl like you.”Kisa said, looking down at the girl, smiling. “You’d probably get fucked the first night you got there. But then again, I don’t know you.”she smiled, and turned her icy eyes to Madison. “I’d just watch your back.”she said, just as the power went out.
(Kisa’s P.O.V)
Madison let out a squeal, and bolted out of her chair. I growl, and make my way over to my gadget holders. I grabbed to flashlights and threw one at Madison, who caught it.
“What’s going on?”I ask, shutting my window and locking it. I wave the flashlight around to make sure no ones in there. Madison shrugs, and opens my door. I quickly pull on some shoes, and follow her, both of us quietly creeping around the house.

Chapter 22
(Dieon’s P.O.V.)
While trying my hardest to ignore Jasmine’s death glares, the door I was leaning on gave out and I stumbled to retrieve my balance and composure.
Apparently I’d been leaning on the security pad, and somehow punched in her password?
I shut the door from behind me to find that the room was relatively dark, and bent down to pick up the unopened letter. The white envelope was identical to the one I received, and was nearly impossible to miss.
Once my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I could make out a faint outline of Kelly’s form. I reached over and touched the black line that was her shoulder.
Out of instinct, Kelly let out a ‘hee-yaah’ and pulled me into a fierce neck-lock.
And out of my instinct, I automatically pinned her to the wall, just to find myself in a tight pretzel cross a split second later.
“Heyheyhey!!” I said quickly. “It’s just me.”
She blinked. “I knew that.”
“Oh.” After a short pause, I said “well you gonna let go?” I asked referring to her arm around my neck. I could’ve slipped out of that hold in a second, but I thought it’d be better to let her decide.
She dropped me quickly, and for a moment I forgot why I was here. Then I spotted the envelope I dropped on the nightstand and held it up to her.
“It’s about Carter.” I told her, though I had a feeling she already knew. When she didn’t say anything, I continued. “They want us to fly back up to Toronto.”
“For his funeral?” She guessed and I nodded.
Silence hung for a few minutes, but for once I didn’t take it too seriously. She was probably thinking of Carter. I was too.
“Can you not do that, it’s really annoying.” Kelly finally said, and I looked down at my fingers that were drumming themselves on her desk. “Want something to eat?” She asked randomly, sliding open her bureau and revealing a bunch of snacks that were unquestionably NOT on the list of allowed food for a spy’s diet.
“Do you have water?” I asked, and wouldn’t be surprised if she had said no.
She nodded and handed me a bottle of water which I chugged down in a minute.
“I like your room.” I said, looking around.
“Thank you.”
“I like your C.D.’s” I glanced at her collection.
“Thank you.”
“I like your face.” I joked lamely.
I recognized a smile.
My eyes caught the time from a digital clock by her bedside, and I got up. “I should leave you alone now. So, you Kelly.”
-----
Out in the hall, I was surprised to find Kisa’s door slightly ajar, and a faint blue light was radiating. Since a didn’t hear any sounds, I guessed it was a computer rather than a T.V.
If I wasn’t so tired, and if I had known Kisa a little longer, I would’ve screamed “late night porn” at her, but instead I just yawned and climbed into bed in my own bedroom.
-----
When I finally got a chance to lie down I tried everything. I counted border Leicestors, Merinos, Corriedales, South Suffolks. I thought about the failed mission and Carter. I tried closing my eyes hard and ordering myself to go to sleep, and when that doesn’t work I order myself to stay awake.
Reverse Psychology.
I left the T.V. on. Silence deafens me, and a little sound is always the key to falling asleep.
Right in the middle of a juicy fruit commercial, the television blinked and flickered off. I figured the power went out. Doesn’t matter, I didn’t care. Too tired to care
-----
Team meeting, tonight at 9.
I rubbed my eyes and tossed the note in the recycling bin. It didn’t seem like much a coincidence that Jasmine was calling a team meeting after the bomb dismantling disaster.
It was also not a coincidence that Mr. Bouvier seemed to have stopped pointing out that he hand picked this team.
Although it was sort of funny how it seemed like none of our team members got much sleep last night. That bit probably was a coincidence.
-----
Phys Ed. At my old school used to mean basketball drills, or laps around the field. Here it means climbing walls and
“Hoverbikes.” Our teacher, Mr. Parlee introduced to us. The class was pretty much divided into two. Bond on one side, Fulcrum on the other.
Mr. Parlee took us out to the field where what looked like 12 floating future snow mobiles were waiting for us.
Kelly squealed and ran towards a red and silver one. “How cool is this? I love you!” She said to the vehicle as the Fulcrums laughed. Kelly didn’t seem to care or she didn’t notice, and saddled herself on the hoverbike.
The rest of us followed suit and mounted ours.
“We’ll treat it as a relay race. A lap around the school.” The teacher instructed
We lined up in the order of Kevin vs. Jasmine, Madison vs. Chris, Kisa vs. Katherine, Kelly vs. Leah, Jack vs. Jay, and me vs. Thomas.
Even though I was the last person to finish up the race, it didn’t take long for Jack and Jay to come at me neck in neck. Once Jack was passed the red line that marked the end of each 1500 m, I turned the gas handle and was off in a jiffy.
They say that humans have great powers. Moses parted the sea, Jesus came back to life and U2 won 5 Grammies.
Well let me tell you, this Thomas dude can drive more than just a tamed limo, he do wonders on a hoverbike. I was already falling behind at the 300 m mark. And to add to my awkward ride on the bike, from the point where I picked up the race to almost the finish line was completely trees. Just my luck to be stuck riding through a forest.
I gave the bike everything I had, and was finally caught up to Thomas. It didn’t really do much, because the narrow trail made it almost impossible to go anywhere but in the fashion of single file.
I spotted a fallen log up ahead, and a crazy theory popped into my mind. I didn’t have enough time to think, so I pulled up and launched myself into the air with the boost of the log, skimming the top of Thomas’ head and landed right in front of him.
The expression on his face of irreplaceable.
Haha, LOSER!!
I must’ve looked back over my shoulder for a moment too long, because when I looked back, I went straight for a tree and got knocked off of my bike.
Thomas pulled up and paused beside me. “See you at the finish line, Stephen.” And rode off.
I couldn’t remember much after that, except lying on the hard ground and watching the surroundings faze out. My team was going to be real proud of me. 50 meters from the finish line and I get knocked off my bike.
Damn it.

Chapter 23
"I like your face"
I know was a joke, but I couldn't help but smile. He abruptly got up and I watched him for a few seconds.
"I should leave now." He turned to leave when I give him a quiet, "G'bye..."
He closed the door quietly and I went over to my C.D. collection, pulling out my beloved MP3 player. I quietly went to my bed, glancing at the clock, and laid my large, comfy bed, listening to "Car Underwater" by Armor For Sleep.
"I'm in a car underwater with time to kill, thinking back I forgot to tell you this I didn't care that you left and abandoned me, what hurts more is I would still die for you..." God this song reminds me of Carter. How I missed my cousin so much. How he'd scare away guys that tried to hit on me. Since I had no other siblings, Carter took me in as a sister, even if he had like, four. "Leave it up to me. To burden you again. This ones not your fault. Please forgive me... Now, that part reminded me of Dieon. It's not like I liked him, heavens no! He's just been like that annoying big brother. And he was like, gay with Carter, so he's family. The song ended and I pulled out the ear phones in my ear. I stared up at the ceiling, and my vision got blurry, and then all went black. ----- I get awake by my SK2 was blasting "Seven Years" by Saosin. It vibrated on the side table next to my head I lazily reached over and picked it up. It was Jasmine texting me. Team meeting tonight at Nine.Goodie. There next to me, laid my prized MP3 player. I grin and plug in my ear phones, changing the song to "Mixtape" by Paper Mache. Falling asleep again, I dreamed I was flying. ----- "YEE!" I squeal, looking at the hover bikes in "P.E." I jump up and down slightly, ignoring the laughs of the other students as I run over to a red and silver bike. "Mm, it's sexy." I laugh as Jasmine grins at me. We get paired into pairs, and I get on my bike. God I must look hella sexy on this thing. I rev my engine, smiling broadly. This is like, my Ninja at home. God I miss my Ninja. Kisa passed her mark, I revved the engine and I was first out. Ha, this is a piece of fucking cake. I pass my mark in a matter of seconds and I look back over my shoulder, seeing the teacher nod at me, smiling. I did fucking good, no? Then Dieon and Thomas went. I cheered on for Thomas, he was pretty good at this. I watch Dieon, getting a bad feeling in my stomach and then it did a heavy flip. Dieon hit a tree, Thomas stopped to see what happened, maybe he's going to help him! He was a nice guy like that. ...He just went on. I get mad at him, but then, Thomas is not on my side, so I get even more pissed about Dieon crashing. I rush over there, people coming to see if Dieon was alright, when I grab a handful of his shirt and pull him up. "WHY THE FUCK DID YOU CRASH!" I yell, my fist balling and getting ready to murder him with my hands. Jasmine gently took her hand on my shoulder and pulled me off. He fell back to the ground, staring up at me in a dazed stare. My expression softens and then I turn away. "WHO HAS MY MP3 PLAYER?!"

Chapter 24 [Jack’s P.O.V.]
She snapped at me, "Are you insane?"
I blinked at her, not really knowing where the sudden harshness came from, but she laughed, and took my hand. I smiled and pulled her up behind me. I glanced back at her and spoke with a ‘just so you know’ tone "Ah... you might want to put your arms around me,". Her eyes widened but I gave my reasoning, "You don't want to fall off."
"I will manage," she said, tugging on my shirt with the tips of her fingers.
I shrugged, "Ok Night, go!"
He reared up on his hind legs, and she let out a scream; immediately on reflexes, clinging onto me. I laughed as Night was already moving into a steady gallop, "See, didn't I warn you?"
"You did that on PURPOSE!"
I winced from the volume of her voice, "Hush. Just enjoy the moment; You might never have it again."
She groaned and eased up, completely letting go of her grip from me.
Night started looking at a hill and a few fallen logs and I knew that was a recipe for disaster, last thing I wanted was Jasmine falling off as Night took the jump. I got close to him, and shifted my weight to the right as he turned his head to glance back at me, then went right towards the flatter part of the lands.
I was getting a little nervous with the silence, and almost afraid she had fallen asleep, or at least gone into a comma or something. I wasn’t really sure, because people have had freak reactions to being on a horse, or being near one. I could already tell from the way she was sitting she hadn’t been on a horse more than 5 times, if any at all. So, I ended up breaking the silence, to make sure she was still alive. "Speak; There's too much awkward silence."
"Like?" she responded.
At that moment, I was almost glad to hear her voice. At least I knew she wasn’t dead. So I opened my mouth to speak “Like—“ Then I felt something hit the back of my throat, and it was still moving. I start hacking to get it out of my wind pipe but feel it start clinging to the inside of my throat. I felt Jasmine push me down, and slow Night; then I feel her tapping me back—not with any force…it felt more like flicking. Finally I decided this bug wasn’t coming back up, and in desperation is gulped down a few times, feeling it fight all the way down my throat till I felt it no more.
"What's wrong?" I hear her say.
"I...I swallowed a bug..." He said as I stuck my tongue out in disgust; but made sure not to reveal to her the face I was making.
She bust into laughter, "And you're acting like that?!"
I gave one last cough and started to breath again. After a few minutes, I turns around to look at her, "Yeah... it was pretty big."
"Was it a pretty bug, too?" She asked, and then started laughing again.
I decided to give her one of my smiles that I worked up when I played the part of a serial killer, and raised and eyebrow to go along with it; it worked. She stopped laughing, and raised and eye brow in return. I shook my head and turned back around now that I shut her up.
She spoke once more in, "So, Barrie, are you in proper conditions of continuing this ride?"
I knew she was probably getting fed up with my antics by now…I could tell by the way she so subtly crossed her fingers, "Maybe we should go back." I gave Night a gentle kick, and a click of my tongue and he started off at a light trot. I was getting bored, so decided to strike up conversation, "Like... tell me something about yourself."
"Huh? …Like?"
I glanced at her, agitation showing...her I thought I’d attempt to get to know my captain, and all she had managed to do was make fun of me, and make this a difficult night. What had I done? Taken her for a ride…nothing more. So, my tone attempted to hide my feelings, but it wasn’t working very well… "If you want me to be specific, just say so. But... let's say... your background?"
"I don't need to answer your questions," She said.
"But I know you already know pretty much everything about me," I said…I wasn’t expecting her to be stupid, and she most likely got my profile; if she hadn’t, then that’d be very sad, "Like, my past, my family, my background, my education, and so on..."
She groaned, "Fine. I'll be fair. Persian and French. Next?"
I laughed, "Oh, so you're going to answer and not explain? That's alright; how about... favorite ice cream flavor?"
She snorted, "Wow, you're random; French vanilla, and cookie dough; Next."
"Who do you like from all of us?"
"From my team?"
"Our team."
"Oh, from my team, I like none of you."
"W-W-What?" I stammered. How did she not like any of us? She would be stuck with us…surely she had to like someone. Then she burst into laughter again.
"I don't know any of you to judge yet. All of you are kind of neutral to me at the moment, just slightly higher or lower than the other."
"Oh."
"Until I get to know you guys, then I can say who I favor the most."
"Do you think we have potential? At the rate some of us are fighting, I think it might take us a while to get along." I said…I honestly had no hopes; personally, the only way we’d get along was if Kelly died, or magically got off her 24/7 period.
"Don't worry. My old teammates seemed impossible to get along with. But we soon became best of friends.”
"Old team?" I asked her. Honestly, I figured she had just got kicked off her team or something…or was a rejected spy…or perhaps rouge who came back to teach. Still, she nodded slowly, and responded,
"Yeah..."
"Are they around? Who's from it?"
She looked away, ignoring my gaze at her. "No one from here..."
"Oh, so were you the youngest one or something?" I kept pushing. I don’t know why…but I guess I wanted to know, and to annoy her for a change.
"They're... dead."
"I see...." I said. My guess was she messed up, and was now teaching. My philosophy on this: those who cannot do, teach. I remained silent, not really sure if I should say anything; something told me I just opened up old wounds…and I of all people know how painful they can be.
We arrived back at the clearing, and I helped her off Night and she got a head start in front of me…I personally thought it a little rude, but I figured she needed to be alone.
I kissed Night and praised him, and he thrust his nose in Jasmine’s direction. I shook my head and spoke softly “No…you’re not going after her.”
He stomped his front leg and shook his head. I rolled my eyes and gave him a pat “And no…I don’t like her. I prefer my wild fantasies about Rowan to her…and don’t even THINK about leaving this clearing. You won’t find her…just get yourself captured.”
He gave a snort and reared up, flinging his hooves widely, letting out a powerful braying noise. Immediately I waved my arms, almost shouting at him “NIGHT!! Cut it out! You’re going to wake the entire Academy up!”
He landed and kept his gaze fixed on me…at last I raised and eyebrow “What?”
He stepped forward and nudged—well, more like pushed—me in Jasmine’s direction. I grumbled and patted him, “Fine…I’ll go after her. Just don’t leave this clearing...for anything.”
He bobbed his head happily and I left the clearing. I swear he was more human like than people gave him credit. Yet, I smirked I as I ran after Jasmine…I said I’d go after her; never said what I was going to do once I caught up with her; and that horse thought he was so clever.
I finally caught up and pulled my coat tighter—it was chiller than I thought it was. I saw her already clipping herself in, and climbing up the wall and sighed, clipping myself in and following after her. I nodded her a ‘good night’ then walked into my room, and went to sleep. --- [Narrative P.O.V.]
Jack woke up around 7:00am and jumped in the shower. After a good 20 minutes, he emerged and pulled on an all black shirt that had white letters that stated ‘I’m Surrounded By Idiots’. He grabbed his leather jacket and threw it on as he ran a hand through his hair and it settled naturally—actually looking stylish.
He pulled on his jeans and groaned…he had two pair and he just had to pick the ones that were a size too big. He grabbed a belt off his bed and clipped the belt buckle, then smiled as his fingers caressed over the engraving: W.W.J.D.D.
Jack muttered softly “Well Johnny, what would you do in this situation?” Then he pulled on his converse and walked out the door not noticing the sticky note attached to his door. --- [Jack’s P.O.V.]
I glanced at my watch the Academy had given me, and saw that it was only 9:00am. I yawned, and our instructor showed us the hover bikes and started explaining we had to race team Fulcrum.
I saw Kelly run for a red and silver one, and I walked over tp an all black one. I heard the teacher tell us our pairs, and I looked at Jay. He thought he was so cool…clean cut hair, fairly good looking, and ice blue eyes—a recipe for one cocky kid.
I revved the engine, and he glanced at me and gave a short laugh “5 bucks says I kick your ass.”
I mocked him “20 says I beat you, and Jasmine kicks your team leader’s ass.”
He laughed “HA! Your team leader beat ours? Okay, I’ll take 20 bucks from you.”
I smirked and watched Jasmine come around her lap…she won. I saw him curse under his breath. I turned towards him and spoke coolly “Good luck…you’ll need it.”
He watched for Leah, and spoke with an icy tone “Hope you like my back side…that's the only thing you’ll see.”
I saw Kelly in the lead, and watched as she hit the marker, and I sped off. This thing was just like Night…only Night was smarter, and slightly bumpier. I powered around the corners and we remained dead even until we came towards wide-open clearing. I jerked my bike towards Jay and cut him off, then leaned close to the bike, and felt it surge forward even more as I gained the lead over him, and passed my marker, watching Dieon speed off.
I looked down through the trees to see him leap in front of Thomas, only to crash in a tree. At that point I heard Fulcrum teams members start giggling, and I see Thomas stop, then speed off and cross the finish line. Yet another mission failed because of Dieon…and I was honestly starting to wonder about this team.
We all ran over to Dieon, and Kelly looked ready to punch him, but Jasmine broke it up before something could happen. I shook my head as Kelly glanced around and shouted “WHO HAS MY MP3 PLAYER?”
I looked over and saw Kisa flipping through the songs who turned towards Kelly “You mean this piece of shit?”
I saw Kelly give a death glare, and spoke with a tone that could send shivers up one’s spine “It’s not a piece of shit. Give. It. Back. NOW!”
Kisa rolled her eyes “Here…no one in their right mind would want it anyways.” She threw it on the ground then gave a girly shrug “oops.”
I turned my head, knowing Kisa was in for it now…when I turned back, I saw Kelly flying for Kisa with her fist balled and aimed for her face.
Jasmine and Maddie instantly lunged forward to try and break up the fight, but now Kelly and Kisa were on the ground just throwing wild punches at each other; so much for combat training.
I glanced at Jay and heard him mutter something to Dieon and me “Why don’t you two boys get your bitches under control?”
I turned back to him “I will when you pay me my 20 bucks.”
“Hey idiot, you lost the bet. Team Fulcrum won thanks to Evil Kenivel there.” He said pointing at Dieon.
I turned back towards him, now completely forgetting about Kelly and Kisa, “Our bet was that I’d kick your ass, and Jasmine would kick Kevin’s. Last I checked she did do that, and you lost your race to me.”
Jay and Leah laughed; Jay spoke once more “Well, I’m not paying you anything. Jasmine is a cheating slut, and the reason she’s back here is because she’s a fuck up.”
I looked over and saw Dieon tense up, and gave him a glance, then looked back at Jay “Just give me the money, you cheating fucker.”
I heard Jasmine call out in desperation “JACK! DIEON! A LITTLE HELP HERE?!” She said not wanting to get caught in the melee between the two fighting girls, while doing her best to pull them off of each other.
Thomas and Jay laughed, and Jay spoke with a baby voice “Go on little Jackie and baby Dieon. Your whore is calling. She can’t handle the job on her own…just like with her old team; Kevin told us all about her screw up! I'm surprised you guys even get to class on time with her as your leader.”
I nodded and turned, giving Dieon another glance, then whipped around and punched Jay in the face. He stumbled back off his feet and I felt Thomas grab my jacket, and I turned and swung at his gut. He doubled over and I kneed him in the face to feel Jay jump on my back and take me down.
I looked up at him then felt his fist make contact with my face twice. He swung a third time but I grabbed his fist then saw Dieon glance between the 4 wrestling girls, and me. I pushed him off and felt Thomas kick me in the gut 3 times before I saw Dieon tackle him down into the grass.
Jay went to kick me in the head and I grabbed his foot and flipped him on his back. I quickly gained my footing once more and saw Kevin run for Dieon. I grabbed his shirt and spun him around punching him on the nose.
By this time I turned and saw the Kisa and Kelly had broken up their fight when they noticed Dieon and me fighting the Fulcrum members. I noticed Kelly already throwing punches at Leah, and Kisa heading towards Katharine.
All I knew was Maddie and Jasmine didn’t move…only seemed shocked by this all. Kevin crawled away, and Jay and Thomas were teaming up on Dieon. I saw Chris seemed to be out on the sidelines, trying to help Kevin up. Then I rushed towards Thomas and tackled him to the ground now throwing mad punches at him.
I didn’t really have any fighting style, but I was covered in blood. Some my own, coming from a gash on my head, and my busted lip…the other on my hands from beating in Thomas’s face.
I finally felt the instructors, apparently ours had left to get back up, pull me off Thomas, and Dieon off of Jay, for they had already broken up the girls. I saw a medical unit already coming out to the field. I heard Jay mutter through a swollen jaw “I bet your mom is a fucking whore. You grew up in a strip club, and that’s the only reason you beat me…your used to brawls.”
I shot a death glare back at him, and put on my serial killer look again, and replied in the most sinister tone i could muster “Actually, my mom is dead; I slit her throat and watched her bleed all over daddy’s chopped up body.”
Immediately he shut up, and turned away heading over to the medical staff, and I was smirking only to see a death glare radiating from Jasmine. I opened my mouth, but for once she cut me off “What the hell do you think you were doing?!”
I replied just as coldly “Protecting this team’s reputation.”
“Reputation as what?! Thieves, bandits, murders?! We’re spies, Jack, not criminals!!”
I brushed past her and she jogged ahead and blocked my path. I looked down at her and she continued on “What the hell were you thinking?!”
“I—“
“You weren’t thinking at all, were you?” She shot back for me.
I opened my mouth once more “I—“
“You screwed up! That’s what! You don’t just start fights—“
“Damn it Jasmine, just listen! For once I had my heart in the right place! When we were on Night, I said the slightest thing about your old teammates, and you were on the verge of tears. They were talking about you…and them.”
She started back up, “This is unbelievable! You got into a fight over words about people you don’t even know!! What—“
“No, I got into a fight over you!” I said looking her in the eyes, seeing odd glances from the Bond and Fulcrum team members.
She stammered a bit as if not processing, or rather, believing what I was saying “What?”
“I thought of how much pain you’d be feeling if they would’ve said that to your face…and when I retaliated, it was because I didn’t want your hurt. I know it sounds weird…but I just don’t want to see you in any kind of pain. I started that fight as if it was a weird way of avenging you, and your fallen comrades; I know they don’t deserve such lowly speech…nor you.”
She didn’t say a word. I was almost glad she didn’t say anything either. I knew I sounded stupid…and there was absolutely no way I could tell her the exact reason I started that fight…but that was as close as it was going to come to a correct answer; I threw that punch for other reasons to…but the main one was her; the other reason was Dieon, surprisingly. He had taken a lot of shit from everyone since he got here, and personally it felt good to say ‘fuck you’ to the person telling him off and punching him square in the face.
I thought all of that in a matter of seconds and just as she opened her mouth I moved past her.
“Jack!”
I heard her call but I kept walking towards the building.
“Jack…”
As I went through the building, out the front doors, around the cameras, and off towards Night, I realized that her tone that last time was sounded as if she were…desperate. It seemed…somewhat empty almost…as if she was talking to the setting sun; she’d beg for it to never set…but in the end it would; her tone not necessarily desperation, as it was hopelessness.
I checked my watch…well, after I cleared the blood off it, and saw it was about 11:00 am. I shook my head and saw Night once more. He was resting lazily under the shade of the tree, and I started to dab the blood away from the cut on my forehead—which was finally starting to clot.
I looked at my reflection in the pool of water. I was once innocent…not a care in the world…just kept to my room and dreamed of the day I would finally get to be lead role with Rowan. Now…look at me...bleeding, and so far no intention of going back to the only place i had left to turn to; my home. --- The sun had long set, and Night was now standing lazily; I had fallen asleep on his back. He gave a twitch and then shook his entire back and woke me up.
I yawned and saw my cut had finally stopped bleeding, and I washed the blood from his fur. I glanced at my cut when i see the reflection in the water and muttered silently, "Great...i need stitches." I checked my watch: 11:00pm.
I still hadn’t turned up—not that anyone really cared whether or not I was there. I climbed back on top of Night and rested my head on his neck, my hands holding his mane, and I watched lightning bugs dance around in the twilight, then gave a quick glance at the sky…I smiled and spoke softly to Night,
“Just like old times…me and you, watching the starry sky.”

Chapter 25 (Jasmine's P.O.V) Don't you just love Phys. Ed? I don't. Well, not the normal kind in other schools. I love the one at the Academy. It's the type of Physical activity you want to do. Like today, Mr. Parlee decided for us to work on Hoverbikes. See, not track drills or volleyball; hoverbikes. Kelly runs up, immediately, to a red and silver one. I giggle, seeing her enthusiasm for the lesson. I walk up behind her, claiming the black and silver one. Kelly turns to me and comments, "Mm, it's sexy." We both exchange a smile before the teacher settles us down. "It will go by this order... Kevin versus Jasmine, Madison versus Chris, Kisa versus Katherine, Kelly versus Leah, Jack versus Jay, and Dieon versus Thomas." My eyes widen and I look at Kevin. He grins, -no, smirks-, at me back. I roll my eyes; besides the fact that we're team leaders, I think Mr. Parlee recalls how competitive we two would be. Kevin and me enter the start line, I was grumbing as he was waving and winking at his team. "Good luck, Jazz. You'll need it," He comments, not even turning towards my direction as he spoke. I roll my eyes, snapping my famous gloves on and also putting on my shades. "You know I'll kick your ass. I don't need your luck. Save it up for yourself." "Well, maybe I should've given you my luck when you went on that mission with your Team Daven?" I freeze and turn to look at him. He was looking at me, smirking. I glare at him, "My team died because of a screw up, ok? No one in this fucking Academy knows and they think I was the one who got them killed. So shut the fuck up, loser." Kevin stares at me, confused, when Mr. Parlee yells, "GO!" I speed off, immediately. My ponytail whipping behind my head as I effortlessly took the lead. See, I told you I was better than him. In a matter of seconds, he was already thirty feet behind me. I laugh out, truimphly, as I cross by the finish marking first. My team lets out a cheer for me as Madison bolts next. "I'll kick your ass, next time," Kevin mutters as he gets of his bike. I ignore him and run towards my team. Kelly and Kisa actually tackle me into a bear-hug. I laugh, surprised, and hug them back. Dieon and Jack nod, approvingly. I sit down on my hoverbike, watching and cheering for my team as they go. Kisa and Kelly were sitting on their hoverbikes, ready, as Dieon and Jack are standing. Kisa goes next, Madison arriving back victorious. Once it was Kelly's turn, Kisa comes towards me. I congradulate her, "You kicked ass." "Why, thank you," She comments back and we both giggle. She pulls out an MP3 and puts the earbuds in her ears. I continue cheering beside Kisa as she was listening to her music. Jack went and I watched him, riding the bike like it was his stupid horse. I shake my head but I do admit, he was good. Besides, he's stupid, not his cute stallion. I smile at the memory of Night's image. That's when, I hear a crash. I blink up and stand in unison with Kisa, just in time to see Dieon's bike and a tree. Oh, shit. I run, ahead of Kisa and ahead of most of my teammates. Please, let him be ok.He wasn't; Kelly had a hold of him. "WHY THE FUCK DID YOU CRASH!" I raise an eyebrow at her and shake my head. She was trying so hard to conceal the fact that maybe she was warming up to him. I take her shoulders and gently tug her off. Maybe she wasn't warming up to him, since next I had to take her hands and un-coil her fingers. Once I let go of her hands, she yells randomly, "WHO HAS MY MP3 PLAYER?!" I roll my eyes but my gaze lands on Kisa, standing there flicking through the MP3 she had, -my guess, Kelly's-, with a look of disgust on her face. She looks up at Kelly and asks, "You mean, this piece of shit?" I noticed Kelly's death glare and she spoke in a deathly manner, "It’s not a piece of shit. Give. It. Back. NOW!" Kisa rolls her eyes in response, "Here...no one in their right mind would want it anyways." I relax, seeing that this might not lead to a fight. Then Kisa just had to throw it on the ground, purposely, and add a girly shrug "Oops." Next I knew it, I saw Kelly flying for Kisa with a fist and aiming for her face. I leap in, immediatley, with Madison on my side but the girls landed on the ground and were continuing their fight there. This was funny, despite the fact that two of my teammates were physically fighting with each other. I stand there, giggling, but stop myself; I'm team leader. Damn it, I have to stop them another way. I try different angles but these girls were wild. Kelly was fighting, full-force New Yorker mode, as Kisa's long legs were shooting up every few seconds, trying to hit Kelly. I was narrowly hit by her legs seven times in the past minute. I turn to see Dieon, Jack, Jay, and Thomas standing a few yards away from me. I stare at them; were they happy to watch a cat fight? I grumble and yell, "JACK! DIEON! A LITTLE HELP HERE--" I cut myself shortly, jumping out of the reach of Kisa's legs again. Kelly was open. I try to grab her back but Kisa pushes her aside, making me have to retreat. I let out a breath of exasperation. I look around, wondering what the hell is taking Dieon and Jack so long. Oh, there's the reason. The two gits start fighting, too. I roll my eyes and mentally scream, My team is trying to get themselves KILLED!Madison tugs on my sleeve, making me turn back towards Kisa and Kelly. "They've stopped fighting with each other." "Good," I comment but see that Kelly and Kisa were fighting with Catherine and Leah. I groan and stomp my feet. I was this close to giving them the two-step move of knocking out people. Finally, I was glad to see Mr. Parlee realize what was going on. He calls up the Nurse and requests for some Medics. He runs towards us and forces me and Kevin to help him seperate our teammates from each other. I glare at Kevin; I did notice the idiot trying to ditch this place. I seperate Kelly first and then Kisa. That left Dieon and Jack. Let's just say, the last time I tried seperating two men from fighting, I got a broken wrist. Mr. Parlee does, though, and I was relieved to see that the boys stopped their fighting... Only to come back covered with blood. Which one to lecture first? I look at Dieon and my heart sank; I didn't want to bother him yet, he was having a hard time as it is. That meant... Jack. He mutters something at Thomas when I approach him, with that psychotic grin of his. I shake my head and glare at him. He opens his mouth, probably going to give me a lame excuse. I beat him to it, "What the hell do you think you were doing?!" See, blaming him. Not Dieon. He replies back, coldly, "Protecting this team’s reputation." I shake my head, What reputation? "Reputation as what?! Thieves, bandits, murderers?! We’re spies, Jack, not criminals!!" Well, at least I wasn't a criminal. He brushes past me, trying to end the conversation. No, he's not leaving that easily. I chase him and block his path. He looks at me, surprised, as I ask, "What the hell were you thinking?!" "I--" "You weren’t thinking at all, were you?" I cut in. "I--" "You screwed up! That’s what! You don’t just start fights--" "Damn it Jasmine, just listen!" He cuts in, impatiently. I freeze and look at him, "For once I had my heart in the right place! When we were on Night, I said the slightest thing about your old teammates, and you were on the verge of tears. They were talking about you...and them." I freeze up inside; so, Kevin must've told them all the dirt he knew about me to them. I shake my head and ignore what Jack just said. He had no rights to defend me. "This is unbelievable! You got into a fight over words about people you don’t even know!! What--" "No, I got into a fight over you!" I stop dead in my tracks. I notice Kevin looking at us, Kisa giggling, Madison's wide eye stare, and Thomas's smirk. I choke before I get any moisture back in my mouth. I stammer, none the less, and squeak, "What?" "I thought of how much pain you’d be feeling if they would’ve said that to your face...and when I retaliated, it was because I didn’t want you hurt. I know it sounds weird... but I just don’t want to see you in any kind of pain. I started that fight as if it was a weird way of avenging you, and your fallen comrades; I know they don’t deserve such lowly speech...nor you." I was speechless, for so many reasons. He got into a fight to defend me, -to not let me get hurt-, but most of all, for the memory of my old team. I open my mouth to say something when he moves around me and starts to walk away. I blink and turn around and wave, "Jack!" He continues to walk... plus, I was too tired to chase him. I look around, a bit sad, and yell desperately, "Jack...." He continues so I turn around and head towards the girls. It seems like Kisa and Kelly some what forgave each other, -they were sitting beside each other, sharing the MP3-, as they were getting bandaged up. Madison was helping out, too, by getting out all the cotton swabs and everything else. I shake my head and direct this to all my teammates, "You better be at the Common Room, tonight. We need this meeting more than ever." ------------------------------ I stand, in front of four of my members. Jack was still missing. I try not to let it show but I guess they can tell how angry I was. "We can always postpone it," Dieon comments. I shrug, "Well... I guess we should." "Can I ask what the meeting was all about?" Madison asks, sitting on the corner of the couch. Dieon was sitting on the coffee table, Kisa was sitting on the opposite side of the couch from Madison as Kelly sat on the floor. "I... want us to spend more quality time with each other," I say, expecting groans of rejection or something. They sat their, watching me. I continue, "We don't really know each other, well, barely know each other. We need to be a team. I know this sounds corny but seriously, if you guys want us to be successful, something my Uncle will be proud of showing off again, we have to start working together." Kisa and Madison were exchanging looks while Kelly and Dieon were doing the same. That was good, now I know who to target better. "So, what I was planning to discuss about tonight was that we go shopping as our first 'together-team' thing." The girls eyes widen, I was pretty sure they were all excited to go shopping in one of Fashion's Capital city. But Dieon gave me a look suggesting I was joking. "We're not exactly going to go shopping for clothing all day, girls. I'm going to bring you to an Underground shop for spies." That made all of them blow off, excitedly. They started blurting out questions, suggesting what kind of place it was, what kind of things they sold, with the added question from Kisa and Kelly if something illegal was being sold, too. I laugh, backing up and sitting on a chair facing all of them. "We'll go Thursday, alright? I'll ask my uncle if we can go afterschool or ditch the afternoon for it." They all nod and I suggest, "Get some sleep. You all better not miss a single lesson tommorow." All of them, but Madison, looks at me, uncomfortably. I stand up again, walking to talk to each one of them. "I know you have... issues of getting used to this school. Hey, everyone goes through it. So deal with it." I poke Dieon on his head, "And if you're having a rough time, know that all of us won't be pissed at you." "You've been pissed at me," He retorts back. I laugh and shake my head, "Well, I promise I won't be anymore...ish." Kelly laughs and I turn to her, "And you, missy, stop being so hard on him." "Yeah, stop being so hard on me!" Dieon repeats with a fake, hurt voice. Kelly rolls her eyes and doesn't respond to that. I shrug and turn to Kisa and Madison, "You two, get along." "Yes, ma'am," Madison responds. Kisa shrugs and giggles, "Whatever." "What about you?" Kelly protests. I blink and look at her; what was she referring-- oh."Jack," all of them said in unison. "I don't know what you're talking about," I ignore them, sitting on the coffee table beside Dieon. Just in time, the door's lock starts to open. Kisa and Kelly look at me, pointedly, as Madison greets, "Jack's home!" "Announce it the rest of the world, will you?" He comments back from the hall. I get up, ready to launch on him why he missed the meeting. But when he came into view, he continues to go on and walk into his room. "BURN!" Kelly yells once he did. Everyone looks at her and she quiets down. I walk to his room, calmly, but start banging on his door, "COME OUT!" He does, in a second, and asks, "Yeah?!" I glare at him but inform him, "We're going shopping on Thursday. You're coming, and that's that." "Didn't give me much of a choice, now, did you?" He asks before slamming the door back. I roll my eyes and turn, to see my teammates looking at me. "End of meeting." I announce, walking into my own room, ready for sleep. ------------------------------ "Jazzy, keep a look out," Mike tells me, tapping my cheek gently for me to turn it.
I giggle and shake my head, "You're way more interesting to look at."
Mike snorts and pushes his narrow glasses up his nose. He gives me a look with his dark green eyes, "But what if another security guard pops out?"
"What's your point?" Danielle asks. She has been my bestfriend since the day both of us arrived here. Her blonde chuncky curls fell on her shoulders as she looked around. "We killed off all of them."
I nod in agreement, "Besides, Captain John is already keeping a look out with Lee and Kari."
Mike gets busy working with his laptop, "Whatever."
Danielle and I exchange looks and giggle. This mission was a peace of cake.
"Shit," Mike announces.
"What?" Danielle and I ask in unison.
"There's something wrong with the security system... we can't get into the Vault."
I look at the Vault behind us and look back at Mike, "Want me to call in John?"
"Call everyone in," Mike tells me.
I nod my head and stand up. Danielle smiles at me. That was the last time I would see her smile at me.
I leave the room and head towards my right, "Johnny?!"
John, our dashing team leader (which he wants us to call him, by the way), looks around. He eyes me, "What are you doing here, Jazz-man?"
"Mikey needs you. He wants all of us there."
"God, I can't leave him alone with a computer system," John rolls his eyes and heads back in the Vault's direction. I laugh and continue going straight, heading for Lee.
Lee looks at me, "Mike screwed up?
"No!" I yell and he laughs, knowing he did. I giggle, "He wants us back."
"Alright."
"Where's Kari?"
"She's at the opposite end or something."
I nod and start running at the opposite direction. There was Kari, spikey brown hair, staring at me.
She looks at me as I explain, "Everyone has to meet up at the Vault."
Kari groans, "Alright... just... pack up my gun for me?"
"You got to be kidding me," I respond. Just because I was the youngest didn't mean they could tell me to do everything.
But it was Kari, and she always gave you this... look. I finally nod, "Go, stupid git."
Kari smacks my shoulder as she passes by, making me look after her gun.
I look at it, wondering how the hell she got this complicated equipment setted up. I shrug and grab it, and begin to walk. It was heavy. It made me arrive last.
I stand at the doorway, struggling with the gun's weight.
John and Lee were over Mike's shoulder, staring at the laptop's screen, confused. Danielle was biting her nail as Kari was walking in.
"I can try to override it but something might happen..." Mike suggests.
"Do it," John tells him.
"Alright," Mike gets busy with typing again.
"You need help?" Lee calls to me.
"....NO!..." I shout back. That made them laugh.
"DONE!" Mike announces, happily. We all let out a cheer.
That was when, suddenly guns popped out the floor, surrounding them.
They all froze and John asked, "What the fuck is that?"
The guns were all aiming at them as I stare at them, horrified. I was the only one out of the area.
Mike sputters, "I-I-It's the backup security..."
Suddenly, a buzzing sound started occuring. The guns were turning on... or my guess, loading.
I stare at them, scared as they look at me back. I can't help but start to cry.
"Jazz, calm down! Nothing's going to happen!" John tells me. He turns to his members, "On the count of three, we run. Do as many flips, cartwheels, whatever! Just, try not to get hit!"
"One..."
The guns were now fully on. I just knew they had motion detectors.
"Two..."
I was praying, silently, wishing for them to make it out alive. I lean against the side of the door, just incase if a stray bullet comes by, I wouldn't be hit.
"THREE!"
I immediately cover my ears as I hear thunder coming from the room... and screams. I start sobbing, hysterically, as I continue to hear the thunder. To my horror, it lasted only 10 seconds... but no other sound was made.
I turn to see that John's hand was lying just outside of the door, -still attached to his arm-, but a pool of blood was already forming under it.------------------------------ I gasp for breath and let out a scream. I realize I was back on my bed. But I jump when I see the red sheets, half expecting John's hand there. Just then, pounding came at my door. I run my hand through my hair and get up, head towards my door, and open it. Kisa and Jack piles in, looking at me. Kisa takes me by the arms and asks, "Are you alright?" "Yeah, peachy," I say as I look at Jack, inspecting my windows or something else. I snap at him, "No one was molesting me... I just had a dream." " Nightmare?" Jack corrects. I stare at him as he continues to inspect the room. "What about?" Kisa asks me. I start to breath, shakely, "Team Daven." "Who's team Daven?" Kisa asks. "My... old team," I tell her. Jack sits on my bed, looking at us. God. Kisa takes my hands and makes me sit on the bed too as she sits on the ground, in front of Jack and I. "Want to talk about it?" I guess I had to show that I was willing to open up to them. I started to re-tell my dream. When I began, they were looking at me curiously, wondering how the hell could I get a nightmare like this. That was when I reached the problem on the laptop and they immediately guessed that was the problem. They continued listening, probably curious as in how they had died. And they were, because they were left in total shock at the end. "That's... so sad," Kisa comments at the end. I nod, shakily, and let a tear escape. Jack remains commentless, just looking at me. I ignore his gaze and say, "If I wasn't stalling with Kari's gun, I could've come and helped..." "But you would've died," Kisa points out, bluntly. I snort, "Yeah... but I feel guilty about being the only one survived." "Maybe that's just how Fate is," Jack finally suggests. Kisa and I look at him as he looks around. "Fate has it's ways of working. Maybe Fate saved you because you are destined for something greater." I slowly nod, he's probably right. Jack continues, softly "If you hadn't lived, you wouldn't be here teaching us... in a way, you're doing something better. You're showing a world that we were once blind to." I glance at him and ask, "Since when did you become a philopsher?" Jack at last makes eye contact with me, "I'm a man of many skills." Kisa stiffles a giggle and looks at him, "Oh really, like what?" "Like nevermind," He responds and looks away. I groan; he should open up. I did... a bit. But he should know that we're his family now. I give him a forward look and say, "Jack, you can't be like this all the time. We're your team." Jack glares at me, "No, it's your team. I'm nothing more than a pawn in your game. I could die right now and you wouldn't have a second's thought about it. Every mission we failed it's because the team fucked up. I could go rouge right now and beat every single one of you." I can kick his ass in a matter of seconds. Where's this attitude coming from? I realize that he's becoming very defensive. "Jack, that's not true. The team hasn't suceeded because everyone thinks they can go rouge. It doesn't work that way--" "Well perhaps you haven't done it probperly. Last I checked, your team failed, and you're stuck here teaching a bunch of criminals. Tell me this isn't 'fucked up'." He grumbles and stands. I was on the verge of tears again and look at him "That's not true!" " You fucked up and you know it! You live while the others are dead! And personally, I'm not convinced you're even what your uncle claimed you to be!" He said, turning away. I'm starting to get fed up with his split personality, "JACK! Face me and finish your bloody battle!" It was getting annoying how he shut me out so much. He stops and turns abruptly, "Speaking of battles, Fulcrum was right. I shouldn't have even started that fight at class... you're a stupid whore who fucked her own team mates over, and get's a second chance. We're set for death, and you're bringing us there sooner." He said leaving me speachless and walking out. He slams his door. I look to see that Dieon, Madison, and Kelly' peeking heads at my door, wondering what that commotion was about. The only thing they could see is tears starting to roll down my cheeks. ((Chapter continues cuz the fact is, there's a limit on per message. it has to be 25KB or other known as 25, 600 characters. I'm at 25 977 so I KICK ASS! I was OVER REACHING THE LIMIT! I thank Ridley cuz she was making me re-edit my Chapter xD))

Chapter 25 (Part 2) "Jasmine?" Kelly asks, weakly. I choke out, "Go..." Kisa nods and motions for them to go as she, herself, got up. I start to cry in my hands. He's such a jack ass. And what exactly did Kevin and his team tell him? After a minute, I get up, rather angrily. Jack is... dead. I storm out of my room, heading straight to Jack's door. Once again, I bang the door with my hands. Dieon and Kisa's head pops out and I motion them to go back in their rooms. After a minute, Jack peeks out, "What do you want?!" I take the edge of the door and push it back, forcefully with my hands. He stumbles back as I push him aside, entering in his room. Now I was going to show him who's boss. "You have no rights to accuse me of that bullshit!" I yell at him. I realize the door was open so I walk over, slamming it shut. Jack was standing their, kind of scared. I shoved him into a seat. Being taller in the situation would work. "What were you saying before, how you didn't want to see me hurt?! What the fuck were you doing their, you moron?" I yell even louder. If the other teammates heard, I hope they were getting entertained. "And why are you always like this? Accusing people of things when you have your own shit! You haven't even dealth with your stupid past, have you? I mean, if you can't fucking bring yourself to talk about it, then I guess you haven't!" I ramble on. Man, I was just accusing him of everything he got me pissed off for. "And what about last night? Who made you pressume that you're supposed to 'teach me' to have fun? What the fuck? I never asked you to teach me anything. It should've been me, asking you to loosen up and stop keeping to yourself." He stares at me back as I continue on the stupid rampage, "You are just a... just a..." I trail off; my voice was becoming shakey again. I couldn't believe it, why was I going to cry again? Jack stood up. I didn't want to look up as I started to cry again. "Why... are you making me hate you so much?" I ask him, weakly. "Because I don't want to get attached," He responds. I look up at him as he looks back at me, hurt. I realize that he had a cut on his cheek. I stare at it, trying to restrain my hand from touching it. "Attached?" I sniff. I take my sleeve and rub it against my cheeks. He takes his own sleeve and rubs my other cheek, "Yeah..." I ask, "But we have to." "W-What?" He stammers, accidently clutching my chin to hard as he was cleaning my cheek. I wince and say, "Well, duh, if we're supposed to be a team, we have to get attached to work properly." He shook his head, "No... I meant... ah, 'love-attachment'." He looks at me, awkwardly, trying not to show what he really meant as that. I stare at him; did he admit that he? I look at him and begin to blush as he looks back. My eyes trail down onto his nose and then his lips... I blush even more I stand up, taller, on the tips of my feet, and rest my hands barely on his shoulders. I lean over and kiss him on his lips. I don't give him time to respond since after a few rather long beats, I break apart. I stand down, properly, and ask in a quiet voice, "Is that a bad thing?" He blinks and stumbles back. I smile at him, amused, to see what an affect I just had on him. He stares at me, a mix expression of being pleased and shocked at the same time. "Ah," He says and grins back at me, giving me that smile he did before. He walks back up to me and gently places his arms around me. He pulls me closer and rests his lips on top of mine. He kissed me longer than I did and when stopped, his eyes were still closed. I look at him as he mumbles back, "I'm not sure...." It's me that usually ruins the moment. I giggle and punch him, trying to make him snap out of his trance. I wiggle out of his arms and step back. He looks at me, confused, as I cross my arms, "I'm not kissing you again until you start opening up to us." "What?" He asks, blinking at me. He snaps back to focus. "WHAT? That's not fair!" He comments back. I shrug and step away. "What, were you expecting me to be so emotional that I would come to you for sexual healing?" I ask back. If he wasn't so blunt when I first kissed him, maybe that would have been happening right now. I swear I saw him hesitate before responding. That made me blush more and grumble as he says, "I guess not." He frowns at me and says, "Well, that's not a good deal." "Fine. Then my lips are sealed."

Chapter 26 (Kisa's P.O.V)
P.E., wonderful.
I swear, if I ever had the urge to get Kelly something, it would be a something really flashy. That is if I ever got the urge to. She just made a dashes for the red and silver one, before any of us could even check them out. That girl is to hyper, for her own good. “Mm. Its Sexy.”I hear her say, swinging my long legs over my hoverbike., hearing a couple whistles from the other team. I flick them off, just to get a cough from the teacher. I glare at him, and rev up my bike. Green and black, my favorite colors!
"It will go by this order... Kevin versus Jasmine, Madison versus Chris, Kisa versus Katherine, Kelly versus Leah, Jack versus Jay, and Dieon versus Thomas."
I sit there, nodding, then I notice Kevin and Jasmine where off. Jasmine won of course, I cheer for Madison as I jump off of my bike in time to hear Kevin say, “"I'll kick your ass, next time," I look him up and down, he’s hot. Just not bad enough. I see Jasmine run towards us, both me and Kelly running her down in a bear-hug. I look at Katherine, as if she was my prey, and I haven’t ate in a month. I swung my legs back over, adjusted my seating, and revved up my engine, and take off as soon as my whistle was blown, I was gone. Watering spraying over me, I lean close to the bike, and let Katherine get by a inch, and then I say something in Italian, and Im off to the finish line, leaving her in a hissy fit.
I jump off my bike, and head towards Jasmine. Jasmine smiles, and says. “You kicked ass.”
"Why, thank you," I comment back and we both giggle. I pull out an MP3 and puts the earbuds in my ears. Im flipping through the horrible songs, when Kelly finishes her win. I look up, and watch Jack and Dieon go.
Then with a huge crash, both me and Jasmine fly out of our seats, at the same time, running for the Jackass Dieon. Nope, he’s not okay.
Kelly had a hold of him. "WHY THE FUCK DID YOU CRASH!" Im laughing my head off, in my head, when are those two ever going to go out. I was just thinking that when Kelly yells again, "WHO HAS MY MP3 PLAYER?!"
I was listing..., but flipping through the songs, a disgusted face on. I look up at Kelly, “You mean this piece of shit?”I ask, in a equally disgusted tone, as my look of disgust.
Kelly gives me, I suppose a death glare, and said to me in a deathly manner.“It’s not a piece of shit. Give. It. Back. NOW!"
I roll my eyes, “"Here...no one in their right mind would want it anyways." I with a snort, I throw it on the ground, yes I mean purposely threw it on the ground, and just for a effect. I add a girly shrug, “Opps.”
Next thing I know, I get a punch in the side of my head, and Im tripping Kelly onto the ground following her. I aim punches here and there, not those girly pulling the hair fights. We were having. It was a, ‘get down and dirty’ fight. We meant business. Damn, could Kelly fight. Though, she fought like a New Yorker, who was on steroids. My legs where shooting out everywhere, kicking her here and there, sometimes just hitting air. My cheek bleeding, her side bleeding. Jasmines giggling, and trying to break us up, with the help of Madison. Suddenly I hear Jasmine yell,“"JACK! DIEON! A LITTLE HELP HERE--"as I kick, narrowly missing her.
Kelly stands up, and so do I when we hear some rude remark about us. We look at each other, and nod, a forgive and forget type of fight. Im running towards Katherine, while Kelly runs towards Leah. I laugh, as I punch the shit out Katherine, she aims a kick to my back, causing me to fall on it, and her rolling on top of me grabbing my hair.
“YOU GODDAMN BITCH.”I yell, and kick her flying a few feet off of me, and land on top of her, my hands strangling her. NO ONE, and I mean, NO ONE, touches a Italian chicks hair. That’s like a sin, if she doesn’t give you okay to it. Jasmine just comes in, grabbing me, and forcefully pulling me off the bitch. I stalk off, with Kelly, sitting down. My aching back, we smirk to each other. Our bloody faces, and bruised up legs. Kelly pulls out her MP3 player, and without a word, we were both sharing the thing, while getting bandaged up. We both looked up, in time to hear Jasmine say. “"You better be at the Common Room, tonight. We need this meeting more than ever." -----
I was sitting on the opposite side of the couch, of Madison, my sore legs stretched out on the arm of it. Kelly was on the floor in front of me, and Madison. Dieon was on the coffee table, and Jasmine was pacing, looking pissed all to hell. Jack? Missing.
"We can always postpone it," Dieon comments, looking up from his hands.
Jasmine only shrugged, saying. "Well... I guess we should."
Madison pipes up saying, "Can I ask what the meeting was all about?", still a tad bit nervous from the fight that broke out.
"I... want us to spend more quality time with each other," I hear Jasmine say, while Im picking at a bandage. We sit there watching her, as she continues, "We don't really know each other, well, barely know each other. We need to be a team. I know this sounds corny but seriously, if you guys want us to be successful, something my Uncle will be proud of showing off again, we have to start working together."
I suck in my breath and exchanged looks with Madison, noticing Dieon and Kelly doing the same. This was not good, not good at all. None of go along. Well, me and Madison didn’t. Dieon and Kelly couldn’t stop bickering to make out for the love of god.
I hear Jasmine speaking again, and I turn back to her. "So, what I was planning to discuss about tonight was that we go shopping as our first 'together-team' thing." Me, Kelly and Madison’s eyes widen. Clothes. A girls best friend. We laugh at the look on Dieon’s face.
"We're not exactly going to go shopping for clothing all day, girls. I'm going to bring you to an Underground shop for spies." Jasmine says, and before I know it. Questions are spitting out around us. Both me and Kelly ask something about if any Illegal stuff were being sold at the same time. Jasmines laughing, and sitting in a seat by the time we are done, she sighed, and said. "We'll go Thursday, alright? I'll ask my uncle if we can go afterschool or ditch the afternoon for it." We nod, "Get some sleep. You all better not miss a single lesson tomorrow."
I guess we all looked uncomfortable at her, except Madison, who seemed to be the good girl, because she stood and said, "I know you have... issues of getting used to this school. Hey, everyone goes through it. So deal with it." then came and talked to each of us. I seek her poked Dieon, and then talk to Kelly and then she comes to me and Madison. We groan, in unison.
"You two, get along." Those few words, sound deadly to me.
"Yes, ma'am," Madison responds.
I shrug, and giggled.”Whatever.”
I smirk, when Kelly says in protest, “What about you?" Kelly protests. Jasmine had a look that said, ‘help me out here, I don’t quite get what your saying’ one. We all say in unison, “Jack.”
"I don't know what you're talking about," She said ignoring us sitting on the coffee table beside Dieon.
Me and Kelly look at her, pointedly, when we hear Madison greeting, “Jack’s home,” as the door’s lock starts to open.
"Announce it the rest of the world, will you?" He comments back from the hall.
Jasmine gets up ready to launch at Jack, probably to grill at him why he wasn’t at the meeting. Yet, he walks down the hall, and into his room.
"BURN!" Kelly yells once he did. Everyone looks at her and she quiets down, Jasmine following Jack. We all look at each other, laughing quitly, standing in the doorway looking at Jasmine.
"End of meeting."She announces, walking into her room.
We all look at each, shrugging. Madison, makes it to her room, Kelly and Dieon have a showdown just then. Kelly, Im guessing still pissed at Dieon. Well, I wanted to have my say in this whole fight.
I stand in between the two, “Hey, how are you?”I ask sarcastically, pushing both of them lightly away from each other. I cross my arms, and stare each of them down. “Now, Jasmine is right.”I say, my accent coming out. “You two should get along, just because, Kelly won’t give you anything,”I start off with Dieon, “Doesn’t mean you need to hound her, and mess up on everything. You need to find your weakness in this thing.”I say, then turn to Kelly. “You got to give the boy some credit, everytime he messes up, your on him, and everytime your in the room together, you two look like your ready to fuck. NOW COME ON, either make out, or shake hands and agree to be civil.” I say, and then smirk, “Have a nice day.” I walk my self out, and pound on Jacks door, making a run for my room, laughing, I quickly close my door, and lay on my listing to him curse, falling into a restless sleep.
---------- (Narrative P.O.V)
Walking down the hall, Kisa, bumped into Jack. “What the hell was that for?!”she was about to yell, when they hear what sounded like someone being attacked. They looked at each other, and make a beeline for Jasmines door, as soon as they got there, the started pounding on the door. Jasmine opens, and we both pile in, looking at her.
Kisa takes her by the arms, and ask. “Are you alright?”
Jack’s inspecting the windows, and the closet, “Yeah Peachy.”Jasmine says before snapping at him, "No one was molesting me... I just had a dream."
Jack continues looking around, “Nightmare?” he corrects. Jasmine stares at him a long while, when Kisa ask, “What about?”quietly.
“Team Daven.”Came the shaky reply of Jasmine. “Who’s team Daven?” Kisa asked, still holding on Jasmine.
“My..old team.”Jasmine says, looking down. Jacks sitting on her bed, staring at them.
Kisa takes Jasmines hands and directs her to the bed also, making her sit down. With that, she sat down herself, but on the ground facing the two. She sighed,“Want to talk about it?”
As quietly as she said that, Jasmine told the horrifying story. Both Jack and Kisa were wondering how she could have a nightmare like that, and what how the team had died. Shaking their heads in shock, as Jasmine finished, tears threating to fall from her eyes.
"That's... so sad," Kisa comments at the end. Jasmine nods, and finally lets a tear fall.
Jack remains commentless, just looking at Jasmine. Jasmine ignores him by say, "If I wasn't stalling with Kari's gun, I could've come and helped..."
"But you would've died," Kisa points out, bluntly.
Jasmine snorts, "Yeah... but I feel guilty about being the only one survived."
"Maybe that's just how Fate is," Jack finally suggests. Kisa and Jasmine looked at him as he looks around. "Fate has it's ways of working. Maybe Fate saved you because you are destined for something greater."
Jack continues, softly "If you hadn't lived, you wouldn't be here teaching us... in a way, you're doing something better. You're showing a world that we were once blind to."
Jasmine glances at him, "Since when did you become a philopsher?"
Jack at last makes eye contact with Jasmine, "I'm a man of many skills."
Kisa stiffles a giggle and looks at him, "Oh really, like what?"
"Like nevermind," He responds and looks away. Jasmine groans, he needed to grow up, and relize Team Bond was his family now.
--------
(Kisa's P.O.V)
I sank back, leaning against the wall, listing to the two bickering. Jasmine looked like she was ready to fall, with everything he was saying to her. With one last outburst, Jack walks out of the room, and there was Dieon, Madison, and Kelly’s peeking heads looking in the door way. Jasmines face was streaked with tears.
“Jasmine?" Kelly asks, weakly.
Jasmine chokes, “Go..”
I nod, and motion for the others to go, while I get up and leave. They give me pleading looks, asking what happened with their eyes. I only wave them off, going to my room, only to look back out with Dieon’s head peeking out of his room also, watching Jasmine banging on Jacks door. She motions for us to go back in, I only stand there, and watch, leaning against the door post. My mind going to another flashback, back to the day I got arrested for a mass murder, when I was innocent.
“Kissandra Santos, age of 18, you are now being charged for the mass murder of 5 civilians.”The judge said, looking down at me.
I look up at him, no use of trying to deny it, they had evidence. Plus me just coming out of Juvie doesn’t help. I nod.
The Judge sighs,“Miss Santos, you are adult now, and that means you have to go to prison.”he looked down at me, hard. “Do you understand that?” I nod, once again. I do understand that.
“You have 6-8 years in prison.”And with that notion, he hit his gravel on the table, and I was whisked to the only Prison close enough to Italy.
~10 months later~
After, two stabbing’s, multiple beatings, and finally getting my bad ass attitude in the Prison, people started to respect me. And then the real murderer gets caught, I was happy, but not that happy. Because that meant, I’d have to go home to nothing, no parents, not family, no nothing. The only person I really trusted, was the Captain of the police force. I shivered at the thought of having to go home. When I was taking out of the prison, the murderer was coming in.
“Father?”
I snap out of it, when I hear someone speaking to me. It was Dieon. I look at him and say, “What?” Then it hit me, Im talking, without people talking to me first, Im getting soft. Shit.

Chapter 27 (Dieon’s P.O.V.)
I watched as Jack struggled to keep with the two against one fist fight. Something about someone not paying their debt. Who really cares anymore.
I tackled down one of the Fulcrums, ready to beat the hell out of him. I seemed to have lost all sense of moral. Thomas tried to do some sort of tai-boa move on me, and I blocked his shot easily. He might’ve been impressive on the vehicles, but when it comes to martial arts, this kid was amateur.
Soon I saw Jay running towards me, and kicked him across the face before Jack took Thomas down.
A sudden shot was sent down my spine and I fell to my knees. I saw that Jay had turned to the only resource he had left, and was holding a taser in his hand, accompanied by a grin. “My finger slipped. Forgive me.” He sneered.
What a conniving little pussy.
I kicked the taser out of his hands and ankle hooked him down to the ground. I chucked the broken taser at his head. “Forgiven.” I spat, before being pulled away by the instructors.
-----
The hospital bed was stiff and uncomfortable, and I insisted on returning back to my dorm. My head seemed to be going through hell right now. Crashing into a tree while going 90 m/h was not something that should be called fun.
When I first heard of Bouvier Academy I thought it would be a respectable school. The only reason I came here was to get away from the pathetic morons at Harvard that used fists to talk and whores that cared about only plastic and money.
These assholes can’t defend themselves for shit. This experience turned out to be the complete opposite of its intent. Fuck you all.
I counted off all the mishaps that have occurred in the past week since I arrived here. The bomb, the skipped combat classes, the race, and now the fight. And my teammates.. They are certainly a jolly bunch. Thanks a lot for the support, guys.
I blinked, and realized that I sounded a lot like the people I hate. Selfish and blunt. At least Team Fulcrum looks out for each other. Bond Team is just fighting a battle against each other.
I got up, pulled out my suit case, and decided to start packing for New York to help ease my mind. I figured it wasn’t normal for a male; middle class; and Asian to have this much bullcrap going through his mind.
-----
The meeting was in reality just an excuse to yell and scold me for messing up every mission we’ve had so far. Kisa seems to be under the impression that I have the hots for Kelly or something. This coming right after Kelly tried to rip my guts out for the third time this week? Do yelling and screaming at someone mean I love you for Italian girls? I should ask her that.
O, and we’re going shopping. I was thinking I could ditch the girls and go get some new spy gear or something. Or get some food. Yeah, I’m gonna go with the food.
-----
A loud banging woke me from my very first peaceful night’s sleep. I peeked out the door to see Jasmine standing in front of Jack’s door. I was glad they were working things out. It would’ve been better if they did it in the morning though. I just hope they kiss and make up soon. At least making out isn’t nearly so loud.
I turned around to go back to my bed and maybe attempt to catch at least a couple of hours sleep before tomorrow’s flight to New York. I grinned. Maybe I won’t be able to go on the shopping trip after all.
I passed by Kisa’s room and stopped, taking a few steps back and stood under her doorway. She seemed to be sitting there thinking really hard about something… She’s always thinking about something.
I waited for her to notice me on her own. She finally looked up at me. By then, I was fully awake, and any of hopes of sleeping were dashed.
“What?” She muttered wryly.
I leaned on her doorframe. “Do you ever sleep?” I asked, only half joking.
Kisa looked at me. “Why do you say that?”
“Because every time I pass by your room you’re always up.” He explained. “And it isn’t fair either. You don’t get any sleep and you still manage to kick Fulcrum butt.”
She raised an eyebrow at me. “What are you trying to say?”
So it’s clear we weren’t going to be best friends anytime soon, but at least she’s talking to me like a normal person now.
Or as normal as Kisa gets.
“Sorry for crashing into a tree.” I said.
Trust me, it sounded a lot more sincere in my head.
“And letting the whole team down?” She asked. “Again?”
Ok, now she was pushing it. I rarely apologized for anything in my life. I frowned. “You know, I was way ahead of Thomas until that stupid tree showed up. And at least I’m a little bit professional. Do you realize how sad it is to watch you talk to some guy when all he does is stare at your boobs?”
Kisa gaped. “Which guy was staring at my boobs?!”
“Who cares!” I replied. “You just completely missed the point.”
“Ok, well I’m gonna go get some sleep. I do sleep, you know.” She said to me with an irritated look.
“And I’m going to finish packing for the big apple.” I said unnecessarily.
“You’re going to New York?” She asked.
“Yeah. It’s nothing fun, though. Kelly and I are gonna go attend Carter’s funeral.” I replied, halfway down the hall.
She made an ‘o’ with her mouth and shut the door.
-----
“Your team is coming with you. You’re all going to NEW YORK!”
I stared at Mr. Bouvier blankly. “They’re all coming?!” I exclaimed. I wasn’t mad or anything. It was just…last minute.
Kelly said something beside me, but I didn’t quite catch what she said.
“Why?” Jack spoke up.
Jonathan looked at us. “I’m glad you asked.” The lights dimmed and a hologram appeared in front of us. “Please, sit.” He motioned for us to take a seat in our chairs.
We did. The hologram consisted of many snap shots of people. No- monsters. Pale skinned, eyes deep in their sockets, lips dripping with blood.. I felt Madison let out a shiver beside me.
“What are those zombies!” Jasmine whispered.
Kelly shook her head, eyes in suspicious slits. “No, not zombies.” She said. “Vampires. I’ve seen some of those people in New York. There weren’t many at that time, I don’t know about now.”
I blinked at her. “Vampires?” I turned to Mr. Bouvier for some sort of explanation.
“Actually, she’s right.” Jonathan flipped the image to one of a powdering substance. “Vamp.” He said. “A drug that’s easily addictive. Its effects are sudden and self explanatory by its title. The user gets easily addicted, and crave blood. Basically turning into a vampire. Skin pale, sharp teeth, though the usual stuff like stake through the heart, onions and sunlight doesn’t effect them.”
“We’re old enough to know not to take drugs from strangers, sir.” I replied after no one said anything.
“I’m glad to hear that, Dieon.” He stopped pacing. “There’s a gang in New York that calls themselves The Vamps, and they are the ones illegally distributing this drug.” I heard Kelly let out a faint gasp. As if that name was familiar, or painful. I realized it was familiar as well, but couldn’t quite put a finger on it.
“ They are also the ones I want you six to go after. Consider this your first mission, Team Bond.”
The room was quiet, then erupted into chaos.
“Is that all the information we have on them?” Jack asked.
“How are going to find them?” Kisa piped up.
I nodded, both questions we needed answers to.
Jonathan just smiled at us. “You’re all smart, with different abilities. I didn’t chose you six because you’re losers.” Wow, there’s something I didn’t expect him to say. “You’re not as useless as you think you are.” I half expected him to say Dieon. “Just stick together, alright? It’s the best weapon you can have, and it’s hard to get. You’ll be stronger as a team, which will make you stronger as an individual as well.”
I shifted in my seat after his short lecture. But nonetheless, we all looked at each other and knew it was true. If we’re going to save New York, we better pull our act together, or God knows what will happen. It’s not a virtual reality chamber anymore. This is the real thing.
-----
I stood in the hallway with my bag over my shoulder. I didn’t bring much, I decided that having my favourite hat with me wouldn’t help me battle vampires.
Jack was standing beside me, with just as little or maybe even fewer luggage than me. He looked detached, and kept muttering something about ‘Night.’
I stuck my head inside the house again. “Hurry up, ladies!” I called, and four of them came piling out of their rooms one by one.
“What could you possibly need all that for?!” I screamed at Kelly’s big pile of luggage.
She raised her eyebrow at me and out came Kisa with an even bigger pile. I slumped my shoulders. Must be a chick thing to bring their entire room with them.
“Shall we get going, then?” Jasmine said cheerfully, leading the way down the hall. I shouldered my bag and lifted a few things off of Kisa’s load so we wouldn’t waste anymore time picking up the things she dropped. When I went over to help Kelly she just glared and said that she could manage herself.
“New York!” Madison cried, as we stepped outside.
We found a stretch limo waiting for us and to my relief, the driver wasn’t handsome or British...

Chapter 28[Jack’s P.O.V]
After several snorts from Night, he convinced me to go back. So, I walked through the halls, and got to the door, using my card key and unlocking the doors. Before I get a foot in the door, I heard Madison yell, "Jack's home!"
"Announce it the rest of the world, will you?" I yell right back. I shut the door and walked right to my room, acting as if nothing was wrong; as for the moment, nothing was…and I wasn’t about to listen to Jasmine either.
I stood against the door as I looked around my room, and smiled in comfort. The walls were painted black, and my ceiling was covered with charcoal sketches of the night sky, and of course, my lovely Night had an almost life size picture hanging from the ceiling, and falling all the way to the floor; I stared and looked at the detail on that picture, and added another tack to one if the picture's sides so it wouldn’t come loose from the wall.
I threw my jacket on my chair, and laid on my bed, looking up at the drawings. It seemed like a black and white snap shot of the night sky…and to look at those starts was all I needed. I glanced over to my night stand to see a picture of Rowan when she was looking at the horizon as the sun set, and I popped the picture out and pulled out a slip of paper; my drawing of the picture. It looked beautiful, but not as spectacular as the real thing.
I slid the photo back in, and placed her picture back on the night stand. I looked at all my walls; it was true they were painted black, but that’s on all the spots that weren’t covered with pictures of me—sketches that I did from pictures of me—and random posters of movies, plays, or musicals. Then I had drama masks, with a signature on it, and a small engraving that read ‘W.W.J.D.D’, hanging just above my headboard. I looked up and mouthed the words as I heard pounding on my door. I spoke softly,
“What would you do?”
To my dismay, Jasmine answered that question for me…
"COME OUT!"
I spoke softly “Impeccable timing.” Then opened the door, "Yeah?!"
She shot me a glare, "We're going shopping on Thursday. You're coming, and that's that."
"Didn't give me much of a choice, now, did you?" I asked before slamming the door in her face. I’m not exactly sure why I did it, but I was doing a wonderful job of making her hate me. I was almost impressed with this darker side of me. --- After everything had settled down, I got up and started heading towards the kitchen. I bummed into Kisa, and before she could say anything, we heard a scream. Both of us looked towards Jasmine’s door, then sprinted across the room and started banging on it; she opened up and I fell forward along with Kisa. I head directly towards the windows and make sure they’re locked, and hear Jasmine say something about having a dream.
“Nightmare.” I corrected, and then continued to inspect the rest of the room.
When I was finally satisfied with the security of the place, I sat on the edge of her bed as she began explaining to us her nightmare. I sat silently, making no comment, only looking at her. She broke my gaze and turned towards Kisa, “If I wasn't stalling with Kari's gun, I could've come and helped..."
"But you would've died," Kisa pointed out bluntly.
Jasmine gave a snort, "Yeah... but I feel guilty about being the only one survived."
"Maybe that's just how Fate is," I finally say; my gaze was fixed on the floor, as the look on my face was more distant than ever. "Fate has its ways of working; maybe Fate saved you because you are destined for something greater."
I continued, with soft tone "If you hadn't lived, you wouldn't be here teaching us... in a way, you're doing something better. You're showing us a world that we were once blind to."
I felt Jasmine’s eyes at last fall upon me, "Since when did you become a philosopher?"
I break my trance and look at her, my brown eyes connecting with her blue and green ones, and I replied in a somewhat confident, cocky, yet strangely mysterious tone, "I'm a man of many skills."
Kisa stifled a giggle and looked at me, "Oh really; like what?"
"Like never mind," I said and looked away. I had already spoken too much, and they didn’t need to be my friend, or love me, or even know the first thing about me. All they needed to know was my name, and that was that.
Jasmine, however, continued to push, "Jack, you can't be like this all the time. We're your team." I glared at Jasmine, "No, it's your team, remember? I'm nothing more than a pawn in your game. I could die right now and you wouldn't have a second's thought about it. Every mission we failed it's because the team fucked up. I could go rouge right now and beat every single one of you."
She still pressed on, "Jack, that's not true. The team hasn't succeeded because everyone thinks they can go rouge. It doesn't work that way--"
"Well perhaps you haven't done it properly. Last I checked, your team failed, and you're stuck here teaching a bunch of criminals. Tell me this isn't fucked up." I grumbled and stood.
She was on the verge of tears again and looked at me "That's not true!"
"You fucked up and you know it! You live while the others are dead! And personally, I'm not convinced you're even what your uncle claimed you to be!" I said coldly, turning away.
"JACK! Face me and finish your bloody battle!" I heard her scream.
Of course, this is reason that I break off my fights, and she was about to find out why. I turned around and spoke with an icy tone, "Speaking of battles, Fulcrum was right. I shouldn't have even started that fight at class... you're a stupid whore who fucked her own team mates over, and you're the one who gets a second chance. We're set for death, and you're bringing us there sooner."
I walked right out of the room, turned the corner down my hall, and slammed my door.
Only a minute or two had elapsed when I heard her banging on my door. For a while, I just looked at my sky, and then glanced at Night’s figure. I grabbed a charcoal piece and began looking at his tail which had an outline, but no detail; and his eye, which was outlined, but had no feeling. I slowly began shading in the base of the tail, ignoring her pounding till at last I thought she’d knock the door off its hinges
I opened it up, and looked down at her “What do you want?!”
She pushed back on the door and it hit the side of my face, and I stumbled back slightly.
"You have no right to accuse me of that bullshit!" She yelled, and then slammed the door. I stood, not exactly scared, as much as shocked when she shoved me back in my chair.
"What were you saying before, how you didn't want to see me hurt?! What the fuck were you doing there, you moron?" She yelled even louder, "And why are you always like this? Accusing people of things when you have your own shit! You haven't even dealt with your stupid past, have you? I mean, if you can't fucking bring yourself to talk about it, then I guess you haven't!" I sat keeping my gaze fixed, now wearing a stone face that took me a while to get down, but now I had it perfectly, and I sat there emotionless. She was wrong...i had dealt with my past, i just chose not to share it.
"And what about last night? Who made you presume that you're supposed to 'teach me' to have fun? What the fuck? I never asked you to teach me anything. It should've been me asking you to loosen up and stop keeping to yourself."
Once more, I gave no reaction to her words. People are fueled by emotion, and if I acted as if I had none, this rampage would fizzle out on its own, "You are just a... just a..."
Her voice began trailing off, and growing shaky; I was right. She was breaking down on her own.
I stood, now looking down at her, but still not showing any ounce of emotion.
"Why... are you making me hate you so much?" She responded weakly.
"Because I don't want to get attached," I said very silently. I was beginning to loosen up, and my eyes now portrayed the emotion which I kept bottled up: broken love. I looked into her eyes, and she was soon focused on the cut on my face.
"Attached?" She sniffed, and rubbed the tears away.
I took my sleeve and rubbed her other cheek, clearing it of the tears "Yeah..."
She spoke once more, "But we have to."
"What?" I said, accidentally clutching her chin too hard as I was cleaning her cheek; I honestly didn’t understand her claim.
She winced, "Well, duh, if we're supposed to be a team, we have to get attached to one another to work properly."
I shook my head, "No... I meant... ah, 'love-attachment'." I said as I looked at her awkwardly, trying not to show the love I had developed for her.
She blushed, and it brought the most beautiful rosy color to her cheeks. I saw her eyes avoid my gaze, and look at my lips, and she blushed even more; her cheeks turning another beautiful shade of red.
She stood up taller and placed her hands just barely on my shoulders and I felt her lips upon mine. Just when the moment felt like it would never end, she broke off, and lowered herself.
“Is that a bad thing?” She said softly.
I blink, and took a step back….pleasantly surprised, but shocked at the same time. I wasn’t sure whether or not I should let this moment go on any longer, and at last I gave a small smile; the same enchanting smile I had given her once before. I reached one arm out very slowly, and touched her cheek with the back of my hand; I placed my other hand on her arm, just below her shoulder and kissed her on the lips.
I held on longer than she did, not purposely, but when I pulled back my eyes were still shut. I was trying my very hardest to convince myself that kissing her was a horrible thing to do, then finally managed to return my mind set to remember that relationships were bad.
“I’m not sure…” I said almost inaudibly, as I continued returning to my old mindset; I just kept repeating to myself ‘Relationship’s bad.’
Well, I had that in my mind, set in stone, till I opened my eyes, and looked into her. I was in love…and now I had to begin the desperate fight against it.
She giggled and punched me, which surprisingly helped, and I gave a confused look; I liked to remain in a constant state of confusion, mainly because of the look it leaves upon my face. Right now, I was doing a pretty good job at becoming confused. I just pretended like I loved her, she hated me, and just punched me for kissing her, but she can kiss me. Simple enough? Yeah right…thus the confusion.
"I'm not kissing you again until you start opening up to us."
"What?" I said, coming back into focus, and the darker side of myself now slowly slipping back into place, "WHAT? That's not fair!" I watched as she stepped away.
"What, were you expecting me to be so emotional that I would come to you for sexual healing?" She said back, and for a moment, one side of me half expected her to do so…I mean, at least if she hadn’t of broken off the kiss. Although I hesitated, it wasn’t for more than a few milliseconds, and I picked right back up “I guess not.” I frowned and replied once more, “Well…it’s not a good deal.”
"Fine. Then my lips are sealed." She said simply.
I smirked and looked at her “That’s fine…I just got to first base, and that was only I just barely started pissing you off.”
She looked taken aback that I should say something like that, then smirked and didn’t take my words to heart. I guess she was starting to tell the difference between when I was bullshitting, and when I was sincere.
She spoke softly “Yeah…but it just goes to show, you’re easily minipulated into my arms. After all, it only took a kiss to get some emotion out of you.” She gave a knowing smirk.
Damn her. Why must women always do that? They have to get that last word in, and when they do, its case closed; one can never argue with them; it’s a lost battle. Of course, I was about to win one for the men.
I spoke so eloquently, that it almost sounded harsh, and added to the dramatic effect of my little comeback “But yet, all I need to do is play hard to get, and you are mine. What have I told you so far? Nothing. What have I given you so far? One single, seductive glance.”
Her mouth dropped slightly, and I stood smirking.
I shut her out.
I spoke softly “Now…if you don’t mind, Jasmine, I would like my peace.”
It seemed that that was the very first time she began to take in my room. I saw her gaze wander around to all the many posters, paintings, drawings, and sketches. Her eyes went wide with amazement, and she turned to me,
“Did you draw these?”
I nodded and gave a warning “Watch where you step…your foot’s right next to some charcoal and paper."
She looked down, and planned her steps accordingly. She at last came to a picture, more like a grouping of progressing pictures, and started at them. The first was a lone female figure under a single ray of spot light, the figure herself a black silhouette, on a large stage; she seemed perfect in the spot light. The one beside it showed her on her knees, holding out a single hand as if reaching towards every single person in that audience; she was giving what might possibly her Oscar winning performance. Then the picture next to it showed another figure, just barely visible from behind the curtain, who watched silently…in awe; the girl was bowing, and holding roses. In the next one, it showed the figure behind the curtains watching as she held hands with another male, congratulating her.
Jasmine saw a small slip behind the last picture, and lifted the picture up to reveal a sketch that had been covered up. It showed a man holding a woman in his arms, both facing towards the viewer, but their heads were turned towards each other; each was dressed in black tie apparel. The man’s hand was placed over the girls as it rested on her waist, and the other was on her shoulder, as the girl’s hand was just touching his with her finger tips. The looks on their faces seemed so real, it seemed more like a photograph than a drawing; their eyes fixed on the others, and as one looked at the picture, the viewer immediately sensed the two’s love towards each other.
She looked at me, then at the man’s face, then back towards me, “Is that you?!”
I spoke softly “Yes…”
“Why is this covered up?! It’s magnificent! And who is the girl—" She didn’t need to search far; I watched as her eyes were now locked on the photo of Rowan. She glanced back at the female and then towards me, once more “Who is she?”
I took a few steps and turned the photo face down and the pushed the paper over the couple; in answer to her question I replied with a hopeless tone, “Only a dream…”
She looked at me with a strange confidence, yet soothing look that could comfort a dying man. I guessed the confidence because she stumbled upon something from my past, and the soothing look because she probably figured that Rowan was the source of my problems.
Well, she was sort of right, but as I looked into her eyes; I smiled “Don’t move.”
She glanced at me and her look changed to confusion.
I grabbed the charcoal, and walked over towards Night’s picture, and her eyes went wide as she noticed the giant sketch of the rearing stallion.
“Turn around…look at the sketch again; then look at me. Don’t think of anything but what you felt when you saw that picture a few moments ago.”
She looked slightly confused, but when she turned around, I saw a stupid smirk on her face, as she was reliving the emotion; and the look in her eyes was what I wanted; it reminded me so much of Night.
As she looked at me, I began drawing the flecks in the eyes, and I saw him take on a shard of life. I spoke softly “Close your eyes.”
I glanced over my shoulder and saw that she had them shut.
Then I began shading in the rest of the tail, and a bit of the mane. I did one last rubbing of some of the lines to soften them. Then darkened the lines around his muscles, and stepped back, smiling. After what had been 5 to 10 minutes I stood behind Jasmine, and placed my hands gently on her shoulders, and turned her towards the sketch.
“Open your eyes.” I replied calmly.
I heard her gasp, and I knew she opened her eyes, taking in the portrait. She stepped forward and touched the paper, and turned towards me “How did you do that?”
“Do what?” I asked, a confused look now on my face once more; man, Jasmine was good for something.
She smiled at me “I half expected to feel fur when I touched that page. He look’s so…real.”
I returned the smile “Magic.”
I saw her shoot me a small glare, and I replied with the true answer, “It’s because of you.”
“What?” She said, now a look of confusion on her face. I spoke with a smile still on my face “That look in your eyes is the secret. I saw you stare at me…confidence in your gaze, yet compassion at the same time; the perfect look for Night. The secret lies in the eyes.”
She turned away from me, and looked into his eyes; I looked too, and sure enough that added the extra something that it needed; it reflected that same look Jasmine held.
I placed my hand one her shoulder and I felt her hand reach up and touch it, then my hand slipped onto the side of her waist, and I felt her hand on top of mine. Time seemed to stop, and she tilted her head to the left, and looked up as my head tilted right, and our gazes locked as our minds had subconsciously guided us into the pose of my picture; I leaned in and pulled her closer and saw her blink, and search my eyes as I moved towards her lips, tand at the last moment, kissed her cheek.
I broke the silence at last “Good-night, Jasmine.”
I let go of her, and she looked absolutely shocked as I walked her to the door, and into the hallway, “And dream of wondrous things!" I smiled as I still saw the look of shock plastered on her face; I think it was the fact because I denied her the joys of intimacy…even if it was just only a kiss. I shut the door, and left her with that stupid look on her face, now alone in the hallway, facing my door. --- “Your team is coming with you. You’re all going to NEW YORK!”
I just looked at Mr. Bouvier with ‘W.T.F.’ face, all the while thinking about Night.
“They’re all coming?!” Dieon said, and I decided to toss in my comments.
“Why?” I finally managed to say with some sort of confidence, yet also a bit of complaint; if that even makes sense; hurrah confusion!—once more I had that dumbfounded look on my face.
Jonathan looked at us. “I’m glad you asked.” The lights dimmed and a hologram appeared in front of us. “Please, sit.” He motioned for us to take a seat in our chairs.
I sat and watched the holograms appear; I wasn’t exactly sure what to make of them, but one thing I enjoyed, and was used to, was horror. I used to live in a life that could be made into a horror movie, and to me these images brought only memories, instead of disgust.
“What are those zombies?” Jasmine whispered.
I saw Kelly shake her head, eyes in scanning over the images very carefully. “No, not zombies,” She said, “Vampires. I’ve seen some of those people in New York. There weren’t many at that time, I don’t know about now.”
I blinked, and was thinking silently to myself ‘speak of the devil! I think horror movies, and suddenly we’re talking about vampires’
“Vampires?” I hear Dieon pipe up.
“Actually, she’s right.” Jonathan flipped the image to one of a powdery substance. “Vamp,” He said, “Is a drug that’s easily addictive; its effects are sudden and self explanatory by its title. The user gets easily addicted, and craves blood. Basically turning into a vampire. Skin pale, sharp teeth; though the usual stuff like a stake through the heart, or onions and sunlight doesn’t affect them.”
“We’re old enough to know not to take drugs from strangers, sir.” Dieon replied, breaking the silence once more.
“I’m glad to hear that, Dieon.” He stopped pacing. “There’s a gang in New York that calls themselves the Vamps, and they are the ones illegally distributing this drug.” Kelly let out a faint gasp, and I simply sat there already coming up with some great novel; my life was so crazy, that I could probably write a spectacular book from it. After all, my father was once a respectable writer and I’ve never really tried; but so far I’ve been quite skilled in the arts.
As my mind was processing his words, and racing off on a different tangent, I snapped back to reality as I heard Jonathan speak again,
“They are also the ones I want you six to go after; consider this your first mission, Team Bond.”
The room fell dead silent, but quickly escaladed into chaos.
“Is that all the information we have on them?” I asked.
“How are going to find them?” Kisa added.
Jonathan just smiled at us. “You’re all smart, with different abilities. I didn’t choose you six because you’re losers; you’re not as useless as you think you are. Stick together, alright? It’s the best weapon you can have, and it’s hard to get. You’ll be stronger as a team, which will make you stronger as an individual as well.”
As he said that last bit, I was mildly surprised I didn’t hear him say ‘Jack’; but of course, I immediately saw Jasmine turn and look at me as his said that.
I sat silently in my seat as my mind fell upon one word: Night. My stallion couldn't be left unattended for that long; and I was definitely not going back to the states, after all, I was a wanted man, and there are Feds crawling in New York. Of course, then I let a smile cross my face as I remembered, I am a trained actor. This is the perfect situation; yet I knew no matter how skilled I was…I would most likely be screwed over by my own team. --- I was standing in the hallway besides Dieon, and had my 2 pairs of clothes and my laptop in my suitcase. I just kept muttering silently about Night every now and then as I’d come up with a plan.
I was getting no where.
So, I developed and escaped plan for myself. After all, I could ditch them right now. Jasmine told of her trained team getting murdered, and I could only imagine what would happen if this team met a bunch of vampires, much less a bomb. It was a suicide mission!
I saw everyone step outside, and into the limo, and before they could get a second glance, I had dropped my bag, and took off at full sprint towards the clearing.
After a 10 minute run, I found Night surprised to see me, and somewhat annoyed that I didn’t show up last night.
I smiled and patted him down, then hopped on his back and spoke softly “Aright, boy, we’re going to get out of here. Take a drink, you won’t have another for a while.”
Night bent down and began taking deep sips, enjoying the crisp water. No sooner had I given him a gentle kick did I hear Jasmine,
“You’ve got to be kidding me?!”
I turned Night around, and looked down at her from upon his back, “I’m not going to New York.”
“Forget Night! He can be alone for a week!”
Night looked slightly offended, and I spoke harshly “Jasmine, it’s suicide mission! Your team got killed, and they were fully trained spies! We haven’t ever completed a mission, and you uncle is sending us to combat gang lords!”
“Because he trusts us!” “Jasmine, we’re going to get killed! I’m staying right here in France, and there isn’t a single thing you can do; and THAT is final.” I said crossing my arms, and casting a stern gaze.
No sooner had I said that did the entire team come along. As they stepped through the clearing, everyone looked taken aback to see me on a stallion, and Night reared up, flaunting his magnificence.
I settled him down and spoke in disbelief “You brought them with you?!”
Jasmine turned towards them “I thought I told you guys to stay back?!”
Kisa shrugged “Well, I thought you might need some help.” Dieon finally put two and two together and looked at me “Is this Night?”
I corrected him “Yes, he is Night. Night is a stallion, not an it.”
Kelly let out a squeal “He’s beautiful!”
Madison seemed to be in too much shock to do anything.
Jasmine turned towards the team “Jack doesn’t want to go.”
I spoke confidently “No, it’s not a want, it’s a fact. I’m not going.”
Kelly looked at me like I was insane “But its our mission!”
“A suicide mission!” I retorted, once more having to repeat my thoughts “We haven’t ever completed a mission, and Jasmine’s last mission went horribly wrong and her team mates were murdered! And they were fully trained! Don’t you guys see? It’s a death sentence.”
Madison’s eyes went wide, and Kisa and Dieon nodded; Kelly and Jasmine seemed the only ones dead set on going.
Jasmine spoke fiercely “Jack, I’m not kidding anymore…get off the horse, and lets go.”
I spoke softly “I can easily out ride you…so you can do what ever you want.”
Kelly shot a death glare, and Jasmine spoke once more “Jack,” her tone became very cold “Get. Off. The. Horse.”
I spoke in the same icy tone,
“Over my dead body.”

Chapter 29 (Jasmine's P.O.V.) "Fine. Then my lips are sealed." I tell him. But he smirks at me. Why is he smirking?Jack looks at me and says, “That’s fine. I just got to first base, and that was only I just barely started pissing you off.” I look at him with shock and surprise. Why would he say something like that? But I laugh. He was putting up that wall again. He didn’t mean it. I spoke softly, “Yeah… but it just goes to show, you’re easily manipulated into my arms. After all, it only took a kiss to get some emotion out of you.” I can’t help but add a smile of glee when I’m done. He glares at me before responding in a harsh tone, “But yet, all I need to do is play hard to get, and you are mine. What have I told you so far? Nothing. What have I given you so far? One single, seductive glance.” My mouth drops; one single, seductive glance? If he calls that ‘scared’ look -when he was first here- seductive, then I don’t know what is what anymore. He ignores me now and speaks softly, “Now…if you don’t mind, Jasmine, I would like my peace.” I turn around, ready to say I was going to leave, but stop in my tracks. Wow, this is the first time when I notice his room. There were so many sketches and drawings that it was overwhelming. I finally ask, “Did you draw these?” He nodded but raised his hand, “Watch where you step… your foot is right next to some charcoal and paper." I look down to see he’s right. I start manoeuvring my way around the room, carefully, in case he was more of a slob and had more things lying down. I read to a collection of pictures, and started looking at them. Surprisingly -well, not really- all the drawings were focused on a girl. She looks pretty…. I notice a small slip behind the last picture. I look at it, curiously, and lift the picture up to reveal a hidden sketch. Another picture of what seems like the same girl, but staring intently at a man. They were holding each other and it seems like they weren’t paying attention to anything else around them. I look up at Jack, then at the man’s face, then back towards him, “Is that you?!” He mumbles, “Yes…” I shake my head and demand, “Why is this covered up?! It’s magnificent! And who is the girl--" I freeze. There’s the answer; the only photo in his room… of a girl. I glance back at the picture then towards Jack, “Who is she?” He goes past me, towards the photo. He turns it on its face and covers it with a few sheets. Still, back towards me, he says, “Only a dream…” I look at him, justified, yet sympathetic at the same time. I was glad that I finally found out something about his path -something not from the files my uncle gave me- but at the same time… this girl is the cause of his sorrow. He stares at me, suddenly, and warns, “Don’t move.” I glance at him and look at him, confused. What now? He heads for the pile of charcoal, and walks over towards Night’s picture-- I look at the giant sketch of the stallion, rearing. It was... breath takingly-good. That's when his voice comes back, “Turn around…look at the sketch again; then look at me. Don’t think of anything but what you felt when you saw that picture a few moments ago.” I raise an eyebrow but grin suspiciously at him, looking at the picture. Once more, I get the same feeling as I did before and I look back at him. He begins staring into my eyes and draw on Night's poster. He then instructs me, “Close your eyes.” I roll my eyes and do what he tells me to do. I started counting, just to see how long will he make me stand here. He better not be doing this only to see how long I'll wait for him. I reach about seven minutes when I feel someone's hands coming onto my shoulders. I let him lead me towards wherever he was heading -most likely the sketch- and stood, silently. “Open your eyes.” I gasp when I see the sketch again. It was very realistic. I was even childish enough to touch the paper and ask, “How did you do that?” “Do what?” He asks, confused. I laugh and shake my head; I always seem to throw him off for no reason. I smile and glance at him, “I half expected to feel fur when I touched the paper. He looks so…real.” “Magic.” Oh, how did I NOT expect him to answer like that? I roll my eyes and shoot a small glare at him but he cuts in, “It’s because of you.” “What?” What is it that I make him do things for me?He spoke with a smile on his face “That look in your eyes is the secret. I saw you stare at me…confidence in your gaze, yet compassion at the same time; the perfect look for Night. The secret lies in the eyes.” I look back at the drawing, staring at the eyes. At first glance, yeah, it looked like any other horse's eyes. But... I did get what he meant. Night's eyes held what kind of energy my eyes held. I smile, softly, wondering how someone as annoying as Jack could catch such a thing. Apparently, he suddenly places his hand on my right shoulder. I nonchalantly reach up and touch his hand but he drops it... only to land on my waist. Didn't I tell him I wouldn't pursuit this relationship if he didn't open up?-- I place my hand on top of his once more, relaxing. I tilt my head, to see what exactly what he was trying to get at. He was slowly leading me to the position in the picture with the couple holding each other. He tilts his head towards his right and he looks down at me. He leans in and pulls me closer. Jasmine, you promised you wouldn't kiss-- Maybe just this once. I stare into his eyes but he smiles, pulling me even closer. But honestly, either Jack needs glasses or he was trying to get some revenge on me. Last second, where I thought his lips would touch mine, I feel his lips kissing my cheek. I blush and look at him, confused. He breaks the silence at last and says, “Good night, Jasmine.” He lets go of me, completely, and leads me to the door. He opens it, slightly pushes me forward, and says in a sing-song voice, “And dream of wonderous things!" I stand there, shocked, and pissed as hell as he shuts the door with a soft click. I was this close to pounding that door open and giving him a beating. But... I took in a deep breath and let it go, slowly. I need sleep. Plus, I should wash my face. I shouldn't give him the satisfaction that I've let his kiss mark remain on my cheek for the night. -------------------------------------- “Your team is coming with you. You’re all going to NEW YORK!” Uncle Jonathon announces to the team. I blink at him and choke on the water bottle I was sipping from. And honestly, here I was, thinking he would lecture why our team was screwing up so much. Notice how I don't use 'my' team anymore? “They’re all coming?!” Dieon asks in surprise. Was Dieon heading there by himself already? Why? Jack seems to be reading my mind. He echos my thought and asks, “Why?” Uncle John looked at us and gives off his infamous smile, “I’m glad you asked.” With that, the lights dimmed on cue and a hologram appeared in front of us. “Please, sit.” He motioned for us to take a seat since we were all crammed by the door. I took a seat in the middle, between Kisa and Madison. I watch the holograms appear and wonder exactly what I was watching. The game Resident Evil pops in my head and I agree... these images seem like they were copied from it. That and the movie Underworld. That Selene chick is cool-- Wait, focus. To show I was paying attention I pipe out and ask, “What are those, zombies?” Kelly, infront of me, shakes her head firmly. “No, not zombies... Vampires. I’ve seen some of those people in New York. There weren’t many at that time, I don’t know about now.” Wow, my daydreams actually turn out to be true. I was staring at images of vampires-- wait, vampires aren't real. I glare up at Uncle John, giving him the 'what-is-this?' look. “Vampires?” I hear Dieon ask. “Actually, she’s right.” Uncle John clicks the remote in his hand and next, I see a powdered substance. “ Vamp is a drug that’s easily addictive; its effects are sudden and self explanatory by its title. The user gets easily addicted, and craves blood. Basically turning into a vampire. Skin pale, sharp teeth; though the usual stuff like a stake through the heart, or garlic and sunlight doesn’t affect them.” We all stare at the screen, silently. Dieon breaks the silence by saying to my pacing uncle, “We’re old enough to know not to take drugs from strangers, sir.” My uncle stops and says, “I’m glad to hear that, Dieon. There’s a gang in New York that calls themselves The Vamps, and they are the ones illegally distributing this drug.” I hear Kelly let out a faint gasp in front of me. I look at her, wondering if she knew anyone a part of the gang. But why is it ringing a bell in my head, too? Not just because it's nicknamed 'Vamp' but something about it.... That's when Uncle John announces again, “ They are also the ones I want you six to go after. Consider this your first mission, Team Bond.” Huh? I guess that was a ripple effect. All of us fell dead silent, but quickly jumped to our feet. “Is that all the information we have on them?” Jack demands. “How are going to find them?” Kisa adds. Uncle John smiles at us and I immediately knew what he was going to say. “You’re all smart, with different abilities. I didn’t choose you six because you’re losers--" Was he serious? "--you’re not as useless as you think you are. Stick together, alright? It’s the best weapon you can have, and it’s hard to get. You’ll be stronger as a team, which will make you stronger as an individual as well.” I stare at Jack, pointedly. If I was giving this lecture, he'd be the one I'd direct this too. He doesn't return my gaze; it seems like he was thinking about something else. My guess, either Night or that girl in the picture. I huff and lean back into my seat. As all of us stood up, Uncle John motions me to come towards him. Kisa looks at me, "You coming?" "Just start packing." I tell her as I turn to Uncle John. He sits in the front chair, staring at me. He observes the way I'm standing... and my expression, I notice. I put on a cheery smile -which is fake but slightly honest because I'm seeing him after a week- so he laughs. He realizes I'm masking myself. He shakes his head and asks, "Any problems, kiddo?" I shrug, "None that a friggin team leader doesn't endures, Sir." "You'll survive. It isn't a walk in the park," He tells me. How right he was. I stare at the floor, "Can I hit them if they piss me off too much?" "Jasmine!" Uncle John yells at me but chuckles. I guess that's a no. I groan and stare at the floor again, grumbling. "Keep an eye out on all of them... and I guess I can help you guys with one thing." "Really?" I ask, looking up at him. He was pulling out an envelope from his suit's inside pocket. He places it in my hand and I immediately open it. First picture I see is some Goth-looking dude. I scan through the rest of the pictures and shake my head; they were all an odd bunch but most of them did dress in the same fashion. "Who exactly are they?" I ask him, finally. I place the pictures in the envelope again and stare at him. "The Vamps." My eyes bulge and I goggle at him, "Are you... serious? Do you realize what kind of hint you just gave us?" Uncle John shakes his head, "You forget that you're heading to New York." He pauses, letting me realize what he meant. I do; the damn population. I shake my head and stare at the ground, frustration pouring in. This is going to be some wild chase, trying to track these people down. He continues, "Besides, I want you to show them this when you arrive there. I want you to see how well your team can plan out with nothing before you give them this." I nod my head, understanding. None the less, I giggle and hug him, "Thank youuuu! You don't know how much you just helped us out!" "I know," He says, seriously. I shake my head and laugh as he says, "Now go... your team is waiting for you." -------------------------------------- "A limo?" Madison squeaks, seeing the black stretch limo standing in front of the Academy. I roll my eyes but laugh, motioning to them to pile in. I tug on Dieon's shirt; he was peaking at the driver's window a little to hard. He blinks and nods, heading towards the door. I get settle in, wearing jeans and a green tee, initials 'B.A.' (for Bouvier Academy, if you're that thick). I take my hair in my hands and put it into a ponytail, "Everyone in?" Before they could answer, I stop and let go of my hair. "Where's Jack?" Kisa grins at me and I shake my head angrily at her. Hey, I just happened to notice he was gone, not like I was looking. Dieon's head pops out of the window and comes back in. "His bags are on the floor..." I shake my head angrily and start to make my way out, throwing my shoulder bag -my other luggage, besides my L.V. bag in the trunk- aside and head towards the door. I open it and Dieon was about to follow when I shake my head, "No, stay here. Contact Uncle John or something. Stay here unless the moron returns, alright?" "By moron, you mean Jack, right?" Madison jokes. I groan and hop out, looking around. Dieon's head pops out of the window, "Seriously, I think you need help." I sigh and turn to him, "Well... do you have an idea of where he is right now?" Dieon shakes his head but stops, "Well, he was mumbling something about 'night'... probably something he was doing last night." My eyes widen and I look at the sky, yelling, "THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!" Kelly's head comes into view and she stares at me, "What's unbelievable? The time we're waisting here? Yeah, it is unbelievable--" "Kelly, shut it," Dieon cuts in. Kelly's eyebrows shot up and she punches Dieon on his shoulder. I don't have time for this. I head towards the Academy again, for the backyard. It took me a while, well, ten minutes to get to the area where I presumed Night would be. I was hoping he would be... I mean Night, not Jack. I shake my head and spit out a peace of my red hair that comes into my mouth. I continue my hard pace and look around as I do. There, in the clearing beside some water, stood Night with Jack on his back. I came on time-- Jack just gave a kick to start Night off. I jump in and yell, "You’ve got to be kidding me?!” Jack turns Night around with him and looks down at me, “I’m not going to New York.” I groan; Like I can't see that! I snap and say, “Forget Night! He can be alone for a week!” Night lets go a breath and I look at him as Jack says, “Jasmine, it’s a suicide mission! Your team got killed, and they were fully trained spies! We haven’t ever completed a mission, and you uncle is sending us to combat gang lords!” I shake my head; these two missions aren't alike one bit. What is he trying to get at? I yell, “Because he trusts us!” “Jasmine, we’re going to get killed! I’m staying right here in France, and there isn’t a single thing you can do; and THAT is final.” He said crossing my arms, and casting a stern gaze. Oh NO he just didn't.But only a beat went by when I first pick up thudding and hard breathing. I turn to see the other four piling in, looking at the horse awkwardly, and then at Jack and I. Jack accuses me immediately, “You brought them with you?!” Does it look like that, you idiot? I turn towards them and yell, “I thought I told you guys to stay back!” Kisa shrugs and smiles evily, “Well, I thought you might need some help.” Yes, she knows I do“Is this Night?” Dieon asks out of the blue. Oh, come on... we're supposed to be leaving right now!Jack, being uber dork, corrects him. “Yes, he is Night. Night is a stallion, not an it.” Kelly let out a squeal, “ He’s beautiful!” I turn towards the team and tell them, “Jack doesn’t want to go--” He breaks in, acting innocent, “No, it’s not a want, it’s a fact. I’m not going.” Kelly glares at Jack and sputters, “But its our mission!” “A suicide mission!” He snaps back. “We haven’t ever completed a mission, and Jasmine’s last mission went horribly wrong and her team mates were murdered! And they were fully trained! Don’t you guys see? It’s a death sentence.” I felt a pang of pain when he said that. That's it; I'm not being nice to him anymore. Kisa and Dieon doesn't look so sure of going anymore but I talk to them, they will. Thankfully, Kelly still seems determined. Madison had shock written all over her face. I should talk with her, too. I snap fiercely, “Jack, I’m not kidding anymore. Get off the horse, and lets go.” Jack responds with a mumble, “I can easily out ride you…so you can do what ever you want.” Kelly shot a death glare. I shake my head and speak again, “Jack... Get... off... the... horse.” Jack responds, “Over my dead body.” “Fine. That can be arranged!” I threaten, rolling my tee's sleeves up. He still sat on his horse, firmly, eyeing me. “Are you really going to do that?” Jack asks me back, mockingly. I let out a laugh, “I can make you as good as dead.” "How's that?" Jack asks, showing interest. I was about to respond when Kisa comes out of no where, like some Amazon warrior, and tackles Jack off the horse. Night started rampaging wildly as Dieon, Kelly, Madison, and I were staring and speechless. Where did that out burst come from? "Get... arf af mer!" Jack yells while Kisa was trying to force him -especially his face- on the ground. It works; she was sitting on his back, holding both hands like how cops handcuffed people. I wonder where she learned that from?Kisa ignores him and says, "He was pissing me off. Plus, I remembered I was going to New York to go shopping. I don't want him ruining my shopping trip." Kelly cheers, truimphly, as I head for Night. I fling myself around the stallion's neck, only being lifted and forced on the ground, violently. After a few times, though, the stallion finally cools down. I let go and stroke it's neck, gently. "Don't worry, Night..." Jack is glaring at me as I pull out my cellphone. Dieon and Madison are circling Jack as Kelly joins and sits on Jack's legs. I quickly click in my father's personal phone number and wait as it rings. After the fourth ring, my father picks up. "Bouvier speaking, hello? "Padre?" I joke. He laughs, "Jasmine... speak French since Spanish isn't your native tongue." I laugh but I decide to get to the point, "Dad, I need you to keep a stallion for me in the stables." "Ah... ok... just where exactly is this horse?" "I'm going to drop Night off at the Academy, alright? When can you pick him up?" "I can send some of my men now." "Thank you!" "Your welcome, sweety. Call me as soon as you're free. Bye." I hung up the phone only to get death glares from Jack. I jiggle the phone in my hand and say, "Someone's going to keep care of him. You better come with us now." Kisa lets go of her grip on his face and he lifts it up, half face covered by dirt and specks of mud. "I don't care! I'm not--" "You are and THAT'S final," I smirk at him as I lead Night towards the Academy. I turn around and stare at my teammates. I laugh, seeing the sight; Kelly and Kisa poking at Jack as they sat on him, Dieon shaking his head sympathetically at Jack as Madison had her cellphone out, clicking away pictures. I call out, "Guys, you coming?" -------------------------------------- Kisa sits down beside my left and says, "The plane landed half an hour ago. We're allowed to go on it in twenty." I nod, lifting my right leg and resting it on my chair's arm. We were going to fly business, which is my Uncle's way of giving us a treat. I roll my head back and rest it on the seats back, looking up. Jack grumbles and asks outloud, "I'm going to get some food... any requests?" Kisa had a water bottle in her hand and shook her head, 'no'. I wasn't going to let Jack attend anywhere by himself but I wasn't going to volunteer and go with him. I was still pissed. I see Dieon two seats on my right -looking boredly around- and poke his forhead. He blinks and stares at me, harrased. I giggle but tell him in a low voice, "Go with him. Look out." Kelly, beside Kisa, yells too loudy, "Gummy bears!" I turn to see her listening to her MP3... figures. I shake my head and catch Jack looking scared. I giggle but stop, looking away. Madison was resting between Dieon and me. She says, "Any juice except Cranberry." "Cranberry it is," Jack jokes only to get Madison glaring at him. He pauses and then turns to me. He asks bitterly, "You?" I respond by glaring at him. He stares back at me which forms into a glare. Dieon finally stands up, "I'm coming with you. Anything else, guys?" "Dr. Pepper for me, Dieon," I tell him. Dieon rolls his eyes and shakes his head, turning around and walks. Jack remains, glaring at me, before leaving too. Madison starts poking my white Adidas. I look at her and laugh, "What?" "Want to sit with me on the plane?" She asks. Aww, she's such a kid. I giggle and nod my head. "I call not sitting beside Dieon," Kelly yells out. Dieon turns his head from walking, looking around, and returns back. That made us all laugh. Kisa tugs one of the earpiece off from Kelly's ears and tells her. "Lower it down, woman. I'll sit beside you. That, or you have Jack." Kelly grumbles but stops, and plasters a smile on. "You're going to love sitting beside me." Kisa rolls her eyes as I was trying to consider that as the truth or as a threat. I shrug and lean my head back once more, closing my eyes, imagining about things... ... "What--?!" I choke out, grabbing the person's hands away from my shoulders. The violent shaking stops and I stare at Kisa. I raise an eyebrow and look at her and then at Dieon... "Where's Jack?" "Funny thing..." Dieon says, passing me my drink. I take it but rest it in my bag. Kelly was chewing rather loudly on a mouthful of green gummies as Madison took a sip from her orange juice. Dieon continues, "Well, he tells me he was going to the washroom. Why would I follow the guy there? So I tell him to be back in five minutes and he gives me some crap about how I shouldn't time him. But... you see... we only have seven minutes and he isn't in the washroom." I leap out of my chair, "What? Oh... God... and he had to do this NOW?" Madison asks, "Search party?" Kisa nods, "I think we have time... the speakers just announced the plane is being delayed..." Kelly mumbles something but it's blurred out by the green glop in her mouth. I want to laugh but I was too mad. I turn to them, "Consider this as our first real mission." All of their eyes perk up, interested. I instruct, "Pull out your cellphones. We might as well take each other's phone numbers." They did and we each took turns, quickly dialing our own phone numbers in each other's phones. After two minutes, when I recieved my phone back, I pocket it. "Alright, so, do you all want to go seperate ways?" They nod and I turn to Kelly, "You, go towards the Gift shops and search there, m'kay?" Kelly nods and bolts. I turn towards Dieon, "You, go to all the washrooms this floor... Madison, go to the female ones. I have no idea how weird Jack might be. But besides that, check any clusters of people." The two nod and ditch us, leaving Kisa and me alone. I turn to Kisa, "Do you want to wait here or something?" Kisa shrugs, "I'll search in this area, in case he comes back." I nod and tell her, "I'm going to search at the entrances and stairs, alright?" "Alright.... hurry!" Kisa yells after me. For one thing, if I did catch him, he was going to sit beside me. No way was I going to let him escape again.

Chapter 30
( Kisa’s P.O.V)
“Your team is coming with you. You’re all going to NEW YORK!” The Headmaster smiled, looking at Dieon, while Im there, laughing in my head
Dieon stared at Mr. Bouvier blankly. “They’re all coming?!” he exclaimed.
Nice..I think, looking at Madison, bitting on my lip trying not to laugh at her.
“What are those zombies!” Jasmine whispered.
Kelly shook her head, eyes in suspicious slits. “No, not zombies.” She said. “Vampires. I’ve seen some of those people in New York. There weren’t many at that time, I don’t know about now.”
Dieon looked confused, as he looked at Kelly. “Vampires?” he asked turning to Mr.
“We’re old enough to know not to take drugs from strangers, sir.” Dieon replied after no one said anything.
“I’m glad to hear that, Dieon.” He stopped pacing. “There’s a gang in New York that calls themselves The Vamps, and they are the ones illegally distributing this drug.” I heard Kelly let out a faint gasp. I shake my head, staring at the pictures, one after another, trying to pick up some pattern. That was one of my specialties, Symbolism, or other wise, Patterns.
“ They are also the ones I want you six to go after. Consider this your first mission, Team Bond.”
The room was quiet, then erupted into chaos.
“Is that all the information we have on them?” Jack asked.
“How are going to find them?”I asked, my eyes boring a whole in the Headmasters head.
I wait patiently, as patiently as I could. Which wasn’t very patient.
Jonathan just smiled at us. “You’re all smart, with different abilities. I didn’t chose you six because you’re losers.” DID HE JUST CALL ME A LOSER?! HE’S THE LOSER?! BALDING FAT MAN! “You’re not as useless as you think you are.” I figure there’s some hidden answer in that. “Just stick together, alright? It’s the best weapon you can have, and it’s hard to get. You’ll be stronger as a team, which will make you stronger as an individual as well.”
I stood up, no longer able to sit down, and started pacing. We all look at each other, understanding it was about time we got our act together. Or else. We could die.
-----
Im stretching out on the floor of the limo, not liking to be crowded, I had one earpiece in my ear and the other just dangling around.
“Where’s Jack?”Jasmine asked, in the middle of putting her hair up. My hair was up, on its side, low. I had on a white tanktop over a black tanktop, and hip-huggers.
I grin at her, smiling, I heard Dieon come back, from poking his head in and out of the window. “His bags are on the floor..”
Jasmine darts out of the limo, Dieon about to follow, Im almost about stepped on. I growl, then hear Jasmine sigh and say, “No, stay here. Contact Uncle John or something. Stay here unless the moron returns, alright?” Im shaking my head, but Dieons head is in the way.
“By moron, you mean Jack, Right?”Madison joked, Jasmine groaned and got out of the Limo.
Dieon's head pops out of the window, "Seriously, I think you need help."
"Well... do you have an idea of where he is right now?"Jasmine sighed, and turned to him.
Dieon shakes his head but stops, "Well, he was mumbling something about 'night'... probably something he was doing last night."
Jasmine eyes grow into golf balls, she looks up and yells, “THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!” I jump and hit my head, ouch.
"What's unbelievable? The time we're waisting here? Yeah, it is unbelievable--"Kelly manages to poke her head out also, three ass are just starting at me, while Im trying not to beat the crap out of them.
"Kelly, shut it," Dieon cuts in. Kelly's eyebrows shot up and she punches Dieon on his shoulder. I watch Jasmine walked towards the backyard. All three turn to me, im red in the face. “Lets go.”I say, jumping out of the limo.
We are filing in, and look at Night, awkwardly, when Jake looks at Jasmine, “You brought them with you!?”
I brace myself, as Jasmine turns to look at us, “I thought I told you guys to stay back!”, she yells.
I shrug and smile evilly, “Well, I thought you might need some help.” I say, looking her straight in the eye.
Dieon randomly ask,“Is that Night?”
Jack, being totally dork-ish, corrects him. “Yes, he is Night. Night is a stallion, not an it.” I nod my head in agreement, my Uncle, before I went to prison had one.
I sigh, then jump, Kelly let out a squeal that sounded just like a pot-belly pig, “He’s beautiful!”
“Jack doesn’t want to go--”Jasmine, says turning to us, but is cut by Jack.
Acting innocent, he says.“No, it’s not a want, it’s a fact. I’m not going.”
Kelly glares at Jack and sputters, “But its our mission!” “A suicide mission!” He snaps back. “We haven’t ever completed a mission, and Jasmine’s last mission went horribly wrong and her team mates were murdered! And they were fully trained! Don’t you guys see? It’s a death sentence.”
Me and Dieon don’t look so good, I remembered what Jasmine had said about her mission. I look on, not sure if I wanted clothes that much. Kelly was still determined by the looks of her glare. Madison, who had shock on her face, turn pale again.
“Jack, I’m not kidding anymore. Get off the horse, and lets go.”Jasmine snaps, talking business.
Jack responds with a mumble, “I can easily out ride you…so you can do what ever you want.”
God he’s so stubborn.
Kelly’s shooting him death glares, while Jasmine looks like she ready to kill him, If she didn’t I was. ““Jack... Get... off... the... horse.”Jasmine half yells.
Im counting to ten, by now, I can’t stand it.
Jack responds, “Over my dead body.”
“Fine. That can be arranged!” Jasmine threatens, rolling her tee's sleeves up. He still sat on his horse, firmly, eyeing her.
“Are you really going to do that?” Jack asks Jasmine back, mockingly. Im licking my licks, getting ready.
Jasmine let out a laugh, “I can make you as good as dead.”
"How's that?" Jack asks, showing interest.
That’s it! I jump and tackle him like some Amazon warrior, off his horse.
“"Get... arf af mer!" Jack yells while Im trying to force him -especially his face- on the ground. It works; Im sitting on his back, holding both hands like how cops handcuffed people. Oh, what good it is, not being the one in the dirt. I cackle, shaking my head.
I ignore him and say, "He was pissing me off. Plus, I remembered I was going to New York to go shopping. I don't want him ruining my shopping trip."My face lit up at the name, New York.
Kelly’s cheering, as she sits down on Jacks legs. While Dieon and Madison are circling him. Im smile, leaning my elbows on his back, I lean in and whisper just for him to hear, still holding his head in the dirt. “Don’t piss me off.”I warn him, and resume back to my original poster to hear Jasmine talking on her cell phone.
"Padre?" She laughs, there’s a moment."Dad, I need you to keep a stallion for me in the stables." I wince at the word, Dad."I'm going to drop Night off at the Academy, alright? When can you pick him up?” another pause."Thank you!"She looks at Jack, as says. “Someone's going to keep care of him. You better come with us now.”to him.
I let go of his face,"I don't care! I'm not--"he said spitting out dirt, but Jasmine cuts in this time.
“You are and THAT'S final," Jasmine smirks at him as she leads Night towards the Academy. She turns around and stares at us. Me and Kelly are poking at Jack as we sat on him. Dieon shaking his head sympathetically at Jack as Madison had her cellphone out, clicking away pictures. Jasmine called out, "Guys, you coming?"
I pout, and nod, I shove his face in the ground one more time, before helping him up and leading him to the limo, laughing.
---
I sit down beside Jasmine, and take out my water bottle. “The plane landed half an hour ago. We're allowed to go on it in twenty.”
She nods, probably not in the mood to talk.
Jack grumbles and asks out loud, "I'm going to get some food... any requests?"
I shake my head, no, motioning to the water bottle.
All I hear, as I plug in one of Kelly’s ear buds, is “Gummy bears, Cranberry” Her music is so loud.
I tug one of the earpiece off from Kelly's ears and tell her. "Lower it down, woman. I'll sit beside you. That, or you have Jack." I nodded, knowing she wasn’t going to sit beside Dieon.
Kelly grumbles but stops, and plasters a smile on. "You're going to love sitting beside me."
I roll my eyes, maybe, I should sit alone.
---
Im shaking Jasmine shoulders, when she pops up, shoving my hand away. “Where’s Jack?”she asked looking at me and Dieon.
"Funny thing..." Dieon says, passing Jasmine her drink. But... you see... we only have seven minutes and he isn't in the washroom."
Stupid Git, Dieon is. Doesn’t know the classic, OH I got to use the restroom. I roll my eyes.
Jasmine jumps up, making me jump back, bumping into Dieon, who bumped into Madison, who in-turn bumped into Kelly. We all grumble, apologies.
"What? Oh... God... and he had to do this NOW?"Jasmine cry’s out.
Madison asks, "Search party?"
I nod, "I think we have time... the speakers just announced the plane is being delayed..."I say, already grabbing my bag.
Kelly mumbles something but it's blurred out by the green glop in her mouth. While Jasmine has this comical face on, a mixture of Anger, and Laughter. “Consider this as our first real mission”she said turning to us.
All of our eyes perk up, interested. Jasmine instructed, "Pull out your cellphones. We might as well take each other's phone numbers."
We did and we each took turns, quickly dialing our own phone numbers in each other's phones. After two minutes, when Jasmine received her phone back, "Alright, so, do you all want to go separate ways?"
We all nod, Jasmine turns to Kelly. "You, go towards the Gift shops and search there, m'kay?" Kelly nods and bolts. Jasmine turns towards Dieon, "You, go to all the washrooms this floor... Madison, go to the female ones. I have no idea how weird Jack might be. But besides that, check any clusters of people."
The two nod and ditch us, leaving Jasmine and me alone. She turns to me, "Do you want to wait here or something?" "I'll search in this area, in case he comes back." I shrug, already scopping out all of the exits.
Jasmine nod and tell her, "I'm going to search at the entrances and stairs, alright?"
"Alright.... hurry!"I yell after her, glaring at a few guys who was staring at my boobs.
I roll my eyes, and curse them out in Italian, turning a corner, I look around the ticket booths, then around the nearby restroom, entrances.
I turn another corner, and see Jack run out of the Restrooms. I see Dieon looking at me, and point, “JACK JUST GOT AWAY YOU DUMBASS.” I yell, pointing for him to follow him. When he just stood there, I pushed him, making him stumble foreword, and run after Jack. I quickly pull out my cellphone, three way calling Madison, and Jasmine.

Chapter 31(( Has Sexual Scene in this chapter. ))
Ahh, New York.
My Life. My Love. My Home.
I stepped out of the airport, looking around The Big Apple. I squeal happily to myself, and then my SK2 went off. My hand subconsiously dug into my jacket pocket, pulling out my beloved cell phone and answered it.
"VANNIE!!" I scream. Dieon, Jasmine, Jack, Kisa and Maddie all look over at me, I jump up and down slightly, smiling brightly.
"Of course! I have to come see you!" My giggles filled the streched limo as I glance around. Everyone seemed annoyed. Whatever.
I hang up the phone and stride to the front of the limo, landing on Dieon and knocked on the large window that seperated the driver and us.
"YOUR... FAT ASS.... OFF ME!" Dieon groaned, as the window went down.
"Yes Miss Cruse?" The driver said as Kisa groaned and pulled me off Dieon, sitting me next to her.
"Turn left next exit!" I smile at him through the rearview mirror as he eyes me. He nodded and turned at the left and there entered a dark alley.
"PARK!" I barked, making Kisa jump slightly. Jasmine grinned at me as I crawled out of the limo and climbed up a iron ladder. When I made it to the top, I look over the railing and see the guys looking up at me.
"COME ON!" I yell happily, entering a window.
When I step in the window, the same carpet, wallpaper and couches welcome me. My home. I grin, sqealing happily as I tear off my sweater, revealing a fitted baby blue tee. I smooth out my mini jean skirt as someone grabs me from behind.
I scream as I feel his pale fingers run on my lower lip, "Hello, my love." His voice is still the same.
"VAN!" I scream, turning around and threw my arms around my boyfriend, bring him into a tight hug. I look over his shoulder and see the others enter.
"GUYS! THIS IS VAN!" I pull Van off me and turn him around. His black eyes scanned everyone else as he loosened his tie and pulled me into another hug, not caring about the others.
"Hello.." Everyone seemed so tense around Vannie. Makes me wonder why. Expecially Dieon; That fagget. He has this glare on his face. Dolt.
"Van and I live together." I beam as Van pulled his arm around my hip, his thumb hung in my pocket as he ran his pale hand through his pitch black hair.
"Mhmm..." Jasmine said, her voice a little shakey.
"Make yourself at home." My voice trails as Van takes his hand and strokes my cheek tenderly.
"I missed you." He whispered, our faces moved closer together, our foreheads connected. I glanced up at him, his dark brown eyes searched mine as I bite my lower lip.
"I want you so bad right now." He kissed my lips softly as my eyes glanced around the room. Jake and Jasmine were checking out the window, Maddie and Kisa sat on the couch with Dieon.
Maybe it's okay...
"Hey guys, I need to talk to Van in private..."
"Just go." Jasmine's voice had a unsure tone to it. Jack turned and nodded at me. I grin and the, and then Van leads me into the corridor and into our bedroom.
Van pushed me up against the closed door. Our lips touched hungrily as his hand ran up my shirt, running up on my back. I push myself onto him, pulling his shirt off him. He pulled himself off me as he slowly helped me with my shirt.
"Don't slow yourself down." I smirk, "We were never so slow."
Van returned my smirk by pulling me into a deep kiss. "We have guest. We have to be quiet..."
His voice trailed as I pushed him down onto our queen sized bed. I saddled him, kissing him again as his hands went up my back, played with my bra strap. With a flick of his wrist, my bra unbuckled.
"Mmmm.." I moan, his lips met my neck, his tounge felt good on my skin. My hands went down to his belt, pulling it off as he helped me. He kicked off his slacks as I got off him. I looked at his half-naked body. His pale body, his face.
Van sat up and pulled me in between his legs, he looked up at me as I looked down at him. Since in this sitiuation, I didn't notice the door open...
"Hey Kell--- OH MY GOD!" The door slammed closed again as I gasped and turned.
"It was that Dieon fag. C'mon, fuck me." Van's voice filled my head as I went out of his grasp and pulled my bra back on.
"No...." I pull on my shirt and look at myself in the mirror, fixing my make-up. I can see Van stand up through the mirror. Light scars are visable on his thin body as he walked towards me. His arms wrapped around my waist as he kissed my neck hungrily.
"Please, Van." I sigh, pulling away from him. He growled as he glared at me.
"Later?" He turns me again and places his hands on either side of me, making me be able to get away from him.
"Later then." He licked me lips as I kiss him back deeply.
Van lets me go as I reached the door, then, "Kelly?"
"Yeah?" I leave my hand on the knob as Vannie looks at me.
"Later better be a full on hardxcore fuck."
I laugh and open the door, closing it quietly behind me as I enter the corridor.
(( Van looks like this Sexy sexy Hyde!!! ))

Chapter 32
I slam the door of the limo and march towards Jack and Kisa. Usually, I would’ve just stayed back and caught up on a bit of well needed sleep, but frankly, I couldn’t give a shit about their excuses to stay back in dear Paris, and right now was about the worst time to get caught up in another one of them. Bad enough this trip that was supposed to be about Carter just totally turned into another way for the whole team to tag along, and find more ways to piss me off.
“You brought them with you?” Jack exclaimed. I stood there watching everyone add in their own quips. “Dude, we’re bound to be late for out flight. You coming or no? Cos I’m gonna go even if I have to do it on my own.”
At that moment, Kisa tackled down Jack.
-----
“Where’s Jack?!” Jasmine stared at me, eyes wide.
“Funny thing…” I say, handing her the drink as almost a form of peace offering. “He said he was going to the washroom. Why would I follow him there?” I began. It might’ve been a little bit my fault when I ditched him at Starbucks to talk to the lady behind the counter.
And in a few moments, we were on a full scale search party.
I caught Jack trying to sneak out of the washroom out of the corner of my eye, and strolled towards the opposite direction for the stairs after I saw him heading towards the elevator.
“JACK JUST GOT AWAY, YOU DUMBASS!” Kisa foolishly blew up, and Jack jerked his head towards my direction just as the elevator door shuts. I groan at her and start rampaging down the stairs by three’s.
I scrambled past the food court just in time to catch the elevator door slide open slowly. Just as I thought nothing else would make this day worse, the intercom screeches. last call for Flight 96 to New York, New York. All passengers please turn to the gate.
I frowned and muttered a silent prayer. “GOD… if all this is punishment for all the bad karma that’s been going on in my life, I swear I will never cheat on that biology test again.” And with that I shoved Jack against the railing. “Flight 96. That’s us, Jack.”
“I’m told you, I’m not going.” He stated clearly.
I let go of him and like I predicted -and strongly, strongly hoped,- he stayed put.
“You don’t understand, Dieon! No one fucking does!”
“I don’t want to understand, I just need you to haul yourself over to that gate and get on that God damn plane flying away.” I jabbed a finger out the large window at the plane in the air that unmistakably read ‘Air Paris 96.’
I blinked and slammed myself against the window. “Fuck..”
Jack beamed. “Great, the plane left, I’m gonna go back now.”
I scoffed. “Jasmine’s going to be fuming, man.”
He stopped a little, but shrugged, keeping up that weird, twisted hard shell of his that makes Jack Jack.
I shouldered my bag and walked towards the gate, pulling out my ticket for the next closest flight, which was lucky us! Only a half hour away. “Alright, see you in a few weeks then. I’m sure she’ll understand.”
Jack let out somewhat of a grunt and shoved his ticket in the woman’s hand, and muttered something about regretting.
I shook my head and boarded the next flight.
-----
“Late! Typical!” Someone from inside the limo scolded, and I pulled my head back inside. “Hey shut up, he’s here, isn’t he?!”
I stuck my head back out the window. Hopefully the wind will drown out the other’s voices quite nicely, while they turned and started bothering a disgruntled looking Jack instead.
-----
“Hey guys, I need to talk to Van in private.”
“Just go.”
I sat on the couch, just barely tuning in to the conversation, and chose to direct my attention more towards the dirty throw rug underneath the coffee table.
I sighed and watched weird New York boy lead weird New York girl into a bedroom.
Unless Van was apart of the vamps, this wasn’t the best kick start we needed for the mission.
“I’m gonna go get her.” I finally said, breaking off Madison and Kisa’s intense staring contest.
I walked down the hall and pushed the door open. “Hey Kell--- OH MY GOD” I saw Kelly half naked on top of Van, having apparently more fun than she did in the last couple of weeks she spent at Bouvier.
I tugged the door shut and raced back to the living room, appalled.
Kisa looked at me strangely. “What, did you see a spider?”
“Worse. I mean- HEY, that was a full on tarantula last time!” I tossed on my jacket, and the rest seemed to follow suit just as Kelly reappeared.
Wow, that was fast.
-----
We lay in a row of six behind the bushes in front of a camp. The hoverbikes were parked behind us. They brought us here, and hopefully they were going to bring us out also. From a little searching and some tips from Van the New Yorker, everything led us to the headquarters of the Vamps.
“Look. Vamps.” Jasmine handed me the binoculars and I peered down at a warehouse of some sort, crawling with men who all seemed to be wearing what looked like a mail chain around their chest.
I nodded, and compared some of the faces to the pictures Mr. Bouvier provided us.
“You sure it’s them?” Madison asked after I passed the binoculars to her.
“Without a doubt.” Jasmine answered, as Kelly took a peek.
“We should come back later. Even with the gadgets and training, we’re as good as toast in daylight.” I said quietly, and shifted myself on the grass. “Six against at least a hundred. Power to the numbers.”
“Sure. Meet back here at say..1:30?” Jack suggested, and we nodded.
Then Kelly said the question on everyone’s mind. “Where are we staying anyways?”
-----
“….You sure it’s not a nine?” I tilted my head sideways at the battered down house in front of us, a little bit…disappointed, I guess.
“Nope. It’s definitely 106 Rowland Boulevard. Right here in black and white.” Jasmine waved the little piece of paper with the address in the air as if we needed anymore proof.
“It’s a little…” Kelly began, but Kisa pushed the door open. “Quiet, all of you. You’re all such a bunch of whiners.”
I snorted and Jack muttered ‘cranky’ before we entered the house.
“It’s homely.” I said, trying not to notice that the walls seemed to be a little bit slanted. Maybe it’s just me.
“I call the master bedroom!” I heard Jasmine say.
Kelly was next to follow. “I call the least torn up room!”
“I suddenly feel like sleeping outside.” I said under my breath, and walked up the stairs.
-----
1:30 A.M.
At 1:30, as we’d agreed, we all made the first move. From a belt of trees across the road from the car park, Kisa and I saw two dark figures moving towards the far end of the warehouse. We decided to move in as two’s, making it less loud and obvious. Jasmine was in the lead, Kelly was peering around more as she followed. I was surprised at how small they looked.
There was a door near that end of the building which we’d figured was the least conspicuous entry, and were hoping it would be unlocked. But Jasmine was only at it a moment before she turned away and began checking the windows along the side nearest us, while Kelly disappeared around the other side. A few minutes later, she reappeared, Jasmine rejoined her, and they moved quickly back to the trees. So that was one failed option.
Five minutes later, Kisa and Madison came out of their hiding places, behind some sheds a little further up the hill. Their target was the front entrance of the building. It took them ten minutes, or close enough, but the result was the same: the place was tight as a Vacola.
Madison looked in our direction, and held out her arms, palms up. She couldn’t see us, or so I hoped, but she knew approximately where we’d be. Then she and Kisa retreated towards the trees with the remaining four of us to safety, leaving the field to Jack and I.
We waited the agreed five minutes. It was 2:09 A.M. I felt a tap on my shoulder, I nodded, and off we went. Across the crunchy gravel, up a small bank planted with straggly red wallflowers, and towards a side door in the main entrance. We walked slowly, about three metres apart.
I reached the door, which was in shadows but had an illuminated green exit sign above it. I turned the handle slowly and pushed, then pulled. The result was the same. The door was tightly locked.
As the others had done, we separated and began checking the windows. My mind wandered towards the many explosives just sitting on my belt. They were useless. Too much noise. Too much attention.
The windows on the corridor side were all barred, but on the other side, quite a few were simply just glass and frames, but they were high. I grinned, feeling sincerely grateful that we were all smart enough to agree to wear our clingskin suits today.
Jack met up with me around the corner.
“What do you think?”
“I don’t know. We need to get the others.”
He added. “Plus, they’re so high up. You think our clingskin will hold that long?”
“They have to.”
There was a pause. I had no idea where to go from there.
“I wish there was a device or something. A security alarm I can hack into..” He muttered, and I had a feeling not to me.
I started to stand. I couldn’t see any point hanging around here, in such a dangerous place. But as I began to move, Jack grabbed my wrist.
“Shh. Wait. There’s something..”
I heard it too. It was the sound of gravel grinding underneath a pair of heavy duty work boots. A man in dirty, baggy clothes was coming around the bend. We could see him easily, backlit by the dull light from the moon. He had the same mail armor around his body like the others we saw earlier. But a closer look told me that it was not chain mail. He in fact had snake scales tattooed to his skin.
He didn’t even look around, just walked along the bank, pulling things out of his pocket.
I was undeterred, however, and was well-prepared. My hand went to the wall and I began a steady rise to the window, climbing in a very spider-man fashion. I reached down to by belt and pulled out a tiny pallet. Very small, but strong enough to bust open a window.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?!”
I looked down to see the whole team staring up at me.
“Get down here, Dieon! I’m your team leader, remember?” Jasmine called up.
I blinked. Damn, she was playing the team leader card again. Too late- the boom echoed through the forest and I scrambled inside, followed by five very frantic teammates.
No one said anything or scolded me for ten..fifteen minutes? After no one came, Kisa jabbed my shoulder. “You could’ve gotten us killed! You never use explosives to get anything open if you’re on a mission like this!”
“Hey, it was the only way. I got us in, didn’t I? You girls should be kissing my cheeks right now to thank me for not making you make another lap around the building to find open doors that don’t exist.”
Kelly and Madison both stepped into the picture. Kelly spoke first. “We ought to be kicking you in both cheeks.” She hissed. “And you know which cheeks.”

Chapter 30 [Jack’s P.O.V.]
After being dismounted by an Amazon-like warrior chick, I knew there was no use in fighting back, she I didn’t really struggle all that much. Of course, after I finished dealing with everyone else’s shit, I was tossed in the limo, and sat in the back near the mini bar. The entire ride over I didn’t say a word; for my own stubborn reasons. --- Dieon and I left to get drinks and while we were standing in line, I saw the idiot start flirting with the girl behind the counter. Now was my chance. I tapped him on the shoulder and spoke quickly “I’m going to go to the bathroom.” Then I left before he could reply.
I slipped into the bathroom and waited a few moments, then walked out the other exit.
I heard Kisa’s voice, and pushed the close door button as I saw Dieon run for the stairs to try and beat me down. The door opened and I didn’t see Dieon and I headed for the stairs by the exit when I heard the intercom calling all passengers of Flight 96. I felt Dieon check me into the railing and he spoke in a clear tone “Flight 96. That’s us, Jack.”
“I’m told you, I’m not going.” I stated just as clearly.
Dieon let go of me and I didn’t move.
“You don’t understand, Dieon! No one fucking does!”
“I don’t want to understand, I just need you to haul yourself over to that gate and get on that God damn plane flying away.” He jabbed a finger at the large window at the plane in the air that unmistakably read ‘Air Paris 96.’
He blinked and slammed his head against the window and muttered “Fuck.”
I beamed. “Great, the plane left, I’m going to go back now.”
He scoffed. “Jasmine’s going to be fuming, man.”
I stopped a little, then shrugged, and kept up that wall. No fucking way was he, or she, going to get to me. He could get shot and I couldn’t give a damn…let alone go to New York without me.
He started walking towards a gate that would be only 30 minutes behind flight 96.
“Alright, see you in a few weeks then. I’m sure she’ll understand.”
I grumbled and fished out my ticket and muttered silently to myself “I’m going to regret this…” then put it in the ladies hand and boarded the plane after Dieon. --- The plane ride consisted of me sitting next to Dieon once more…only this time we were going back to the states. The entire time I kept staring out the window my mind racing and always landing upon Rowan.
I started getting nervous then tapping my hand on the seat and I saw Dieon look over at me. He watched my fingers drum against the arm rest, and my other hand, which was propping my head up, was positioned just right so I started chewing my thumbnail.
He opened his mouth to speak to me, but I then stopped drumming and completely relaxed…except for biting my thumb nail.
“Jack, are you okay?”
I turned towards Dieon and spoke with an eerie finality in my voice as I began imitating a character that was an insane person in a mental hospital; complete with the jittery hand gestures, “Well, that’s hard for me to say, because the four horsemen of the Apocalypse are coming to visit me today, and they’re not bringing roses. So it’s just difficult to get organized; how about you?”
He fell for the act. He looked as if he just saw a ghost and then his somewhat freaked look turned into one of confusion, “Erm…yeah. I’m fine too?”
I turned back towards the window and smirked. Messing with Dieon was fun after all; now I saw why Kelly liked it so much. --- I walked into the limo after Dieon and threw my small carry-on bag onto the floor and moved to the opposite end away from everyone else. Jasmine, Kisa, and Kelly went to open their mouths, and I just gave them one look; that look said ‘don’t start’ and spoke very firmly “Don’t fucking talk to me.”
No one said a word to me the entire time. Though, just before Kelly started giving directions to the driver, Jasmine attempted to, but all I had to do was give her that psychopathic grin and she turned right back around. --- Van and Kelly went off into a room; as if I didn’t know what was going on there.
Dieon went down the hallway and I smirked hearing him scream and come running back. I let a smile pass my face as everyone but I looked up at him.
Shortly after Kisa started badgering him, Kelly reappeared and we took our leave back to the limo. --- We all were now lying on a hill looking down at the Vamp’s warehouse. The rest of the team started formulating the plan and I just kept scoping out the place, tuning them out and not exactly getting on the whole ‘team effort’ band wagon. I heard someone mention something about daylight and toast. So, I decided to say something, hoping it was on topic,
“Sure…meet back here at 1:30?”
Everyone nodded, and then Kelly spoke up “Where exactly are we staying?” --- “….You sure it’s not a nine?” Dieon tilted his head sideways at the battered down house in front of us; He was a little bit…disappointed, I guess.
“Nope; it’s definitely 106 Rowland Boulevard. Right here in black and white.” Jasmine waved the little piece of paper with the address in the air as if we needed anymore proof. I looked at the place with a disgusted face; I had lived better than this, even when I was on the run from the FBI.
“It’s a little…” Kelly began, but Kisa cut her off and pushed the door open. “Quiet, all of you. You’re all such a bunch of whiners.”
Dieon snorted and I muttered ‘cranky’ before he and I entered the house.
“It’s homely.” Dieon said.
“I call the master bedroom!” I heard Jasmine say.
Kelly was next to follow. “I call the least torn up room!”
I walked up the stair only to find everything rat and termite infested. I screwed up my face as I look at everything, then with once last glance I walked out of the room and right out the front door.
Jasmine caught me leaving and dashed out and saw me waving at the limo driver. She called out “Jack! Where do you think you’re going?”
I turned back towards her and spoke softly “You idiots can stay here. I’m going to visit Broadway.” I opened the door and threw my stuff in, and I felt her grab my shirt and rip me around.
“You will not! What are you going to do there anyway?!”
“I’m getting away from you, and the resting of this fucking team.” I shoved her down onto the pavement and I looked at her as she was on the ground, then looked away and got in the limo and drove off.
I glanced back at her from the rear view window, and I saw her standing up, looking at the palms of her hands that were probably scraped. --- I told the driver to wait as I stood outside the theater looking at the posters for a play entitled ‘Just A Shadow’ I saw the name underneath it where it listed the lead roles…sure enough, I saw Rowan's. I bought myself a ticket then walked into the theater and checked my watch as the show would start in an hour.
I settled down in my private box and the hour flew by as I noticed the lights dim and a single beam go up on Rowan. She stood there speaking as the Narrator,
“This is the story of love that is unlike any other. Romeo and Juliet may have been forbidden, but what do you do when the person you love exists only in your mind? This is the story of Caroline Marshall, who was married to her husband, Garry Marshall. She soon realizes, after 3 years of marriage, that there is another that she loves…but he exists in her mind, and she is declared insane, and committed to a mental institution. Follow her tale as she learns what is real and what is not, what it means to love, and most of all, who does she truely love…”
I watched her perform, and she acted so wonderfully, that is really didn't matter if it was a mediocre plot...the acting made it seem spectacular. Now it was the final scene of Act III, and I watched as she and her ‘true love’ were on stage:
“John, they tell me you are not real…but look at you! You’re holding me in your arms, and this is your kisses that lather my neck; how can they say you do not exist?”
“Because they do not wish to see. Our love is perfect…it makes the others jealous; it makes them angry to think this entire time I have been always close to your heart; I have been your shadow; only when you sought true love did I reveal myself to you, and the same rule shall apply to them. They will only see me when they believe.”
“But can we ever be together? Happily I mean?”
“No…never.”
She began sobbing and he wrapped his arms around her. Then he spoke once more “Caroline, you are to be with Garry…our love can never be because it is them who refuse to see. This is a world or hate, violence, and pain. You have suffered long enough for love…I have made you suffer long enough for love. You have found pure love, but unfortunately the truth is, is that it is impossible to have.”
He and she now were in the pose that I had drawn, and then John pushed her away into Garry’s arms and spoke softly and eloquently as she turned away from him and looked into Garry’s eyes. He now stood off to the side and his voice carried through the theater “I can only be your shadow…and nothing more.”
I watched the curtain close on them as I stood, along with the rest of the audience, and applauded them both. The curtains opened and the entire cast took their bows then the curtains closed and everyone headed out.
After an hour had elapsed I jumped up on the stage and headed back to the cast’s dressing rooms. I came to a door and Rowan’s name was on the outside; I took a deep breath and gave a knock.
I waited for a few moments, and then I heard her voice “Come in!”
I opened the door, peeked my head in, and she turned and looked at me. For a moment, it seemed as through she’d recognize me, but she finally spoke “Um…are you lost?”
I smiled and spoke softly and spoke “No…actually, I came to see you.”
She gave a soft smile “Sorry, I’m not signing any autographs right now.”
I shook my head “That’s not what I’m here for.”
She smiled “Well, you can sit on the couch. If you don’t mind, I have to change. Um…there’s nothing really to steal, but don’t be a jerk and take something anyway.” She walked behind a curtain and pulled it shut.
I sat on the couch and watched her clothes start piling up on the floor as she reappeared a few minutes later. She sat down across from me, and picked up a cigarette and took a deep puff after she lit it.
I raised my eye brow “You smoke?”
She nodded “Yeah. Now, what did you say you were here for?”
“Well…I came to see you.”
“Yes, I’m not an idiot. Why did you come though?”
“Well…I’m not sure actually.” I replied rather stupidly.
“You’re not sure. Well, that’s wonderful.” She mocked me.
That confused look of mine flashed on my face and she froze. She gave me another odd look “What did you say your name was?”
I gave a smile “Jack Peter, at your service.”
Immediately her eyes went wide and she looked at me “Oh my God! Jack…please...don’t hurt me.”
I walked towards her and I could see a look of fear on her face. I spoke softly and kneeled down “I’m not going to hurt you.”
She looked on the verge of tears, crocodile tears or real i couldn't tell, and she spoke again, “Then why are you here?”
“I came to tell you I love you.”
She seemed to loose her voice as she spoke to me, fo she was now repliing in barely adible wisphers “Get out…”
I kneeled down “Okay, okay…I’ll go, but listen to me. I’ve been in love with you since—“
“You’re a murder! You killed your own parents, and you’re wanted by the FBI!!”
“Just listen to me! My dad tried to shoot me, and I killed him first! But that’s not important! I came here to tell you I’ve loved you since I first saw you freshman year!”
She was now starting to get emotional, and not in a good way, “Get out, or I swear I’ll call the cops.”
I didn’t know what I was honestly expecting her to do, but I continued on “Rowan…I—“
“I don’t love you! I fell in love with Preston, Jack! You are nothing to me; So…can you please…just leave…” She said the tears she worked up from before now being held back.
I reached in my pocket and pulled out the picture of her and I and put it down before her and spoke softly “I drew that for you…”
She picked it up and pointed to the door “Just... go. Please.” She managed to choke out.
I hovered for a moment, and then stepped out; just before I shut the door I saw her looking at me and I spoke very quietly, letting my voice carry “I am only a shadow…and nothing more.” I closed the door with a soft click, and I heard ruffeling inside; she had seen the picture. --- I showed back up at the house around 1:00am and Jasmine was at the door pacing in front of the team when I walked in. She went to open her mouth and start talking to me and I gave her one look, I wasn’t really sure if it was a sad, depressed look or an angry one…but for once I honestly didn’t care.
She didn’t continue, so whatever I did it worked. I walked into an upstairs room and I heard her coming up after me. I was pulling off my shirt and I heard her voice from the door way “Jack…are you okay?”
I gave a fake laugh “What? You’re not going to yell at me? Not going to bitch and complain one bit? How un-Jazzy.”
I felt her hand on my shoulder and I pushed her away “Jack…you can’t keep acting like this. What were about to do isn’t a simulator…you have to work together with us. No more of this shield that you have up to keep yourself away from us. We’re a team, now.”
I slid off my pants, and her eyes never left mine, and then I pulled on the cling skin suit. I spoke with a somewhat harsh tone “Go help your team…because I’m not going to be apart of it.” Then I brushed past her and left her standing there silently; I stole once last glance, and I think she was the one finally confused for once...
1:30 A.M.
Dieon kept watch on the others as they moved around the place. I had now occupied myself with a bug that was crawling on the blade of grass in front of me. I saw Kisa retreat back, and I stood and brushed myself off then saw that the coast was clear. I gave Dieon a tap, and we both set off for the warehouse with me taking the lead.
I finished my walk around the building and met Dieon at the corner…there were some windows pretty high up, but that was about it.
“What do you think?” He asked me.
“I don’t know. We should probably get the others.” I said, not really wanting to see the rest of the team, but not really wanting to stand her like a sitting duck, “Plus, they’re so high up. You think our cling skin will hold that long?”
“They have to.” He replied.
Silence. I was the one to break it after a few moments.
“I wish there was a device or something. A security alarm I can hack into...” I muttered, not really to Dieon or anyone in particular for that matter.
Dieon stood still for a few moment, then went to move and I grabbed his wrist as I heard heavy footfall.
“Shh…wait. There’s something.”
It was the sound of gravel grinding underneath a pair of heavy duty work boots. A man in dirty, baggy clothes was coming around the bend. We could see him easily, backlit by the dull light from the moon. Upon closer inspection, I noticed he had snake scale tattoos on his skin.
He did look around, just continued walking pulling things out of his pockets. Then moving shadows caught my attention as I realized it was Jasmine & CO. She broke the silence as she called up to Dieon, and I noticed for the first time that he was climbing up the wall.
There was a loud BOOM and then everyone looked up at the window, seeing it now blasted away, and quickly scampered inside.
Once inside I heard everyone turn on Dieon and start telling him off for being so dense when I glanced around at the giant ware house full of Vamp. Tons and tons lined the walls and I turned towards them “Hey…guys, knock it off for just one minute!”
I saw them turn around and I took a step forward and looked around the room as Dieon and Kelly came up behind me.
Kelly spoke softly “So…what do we do now?”
Jasmine answered “Well, start looking around for...” She trailed off near the end, as i tuned her out.
I rolled my eyes and set off moving about very carefully. Kisa and Madison followed up the rear as Jasmine went on way and I went another.
I quickly found exactly what we needed. There were two very large containers—one full of a clear liquid and another with a red liquid. I turned and called Kelly over and she looked at the two chemicals.
“What do you make of it?”
She glanced around “well, I’m not exactly sure how to arm it…or disarm it for that matter, but when those two chemicals mix, we’ll be in trouble. That’s a nasty mix, and makes a rather large bomb.”
I glanced at it “So…this is it? Where are all the vampires?”
I regretted saying that as I heard a bang and a stinging sensation in my shoulder. I turned around to see 6 vampires standing on top of a crate of drugs, and one holding a shot gun aimed at me; i was the lucky duck who took the first bullet. I turned around and shouted to the rest of them “GUYS, TURN AROUND!!”
I saw Jasmine and Kisa already running for the Vampires and dodging their bullets. Within a few moment our welcome had been worn out as the warehouse now escaladed into chaos. I clutched my shoulders as I dove behind a crate to avoid the cross fire and watched a Vampire take careful aim for Jasmine.
I quickly leapt across the room tackling her to the floor and watching a hole be blown into the cement where she was once standing. I quickly got off her before she could say anything and went running for the bomb in the corner. I grabbed my laptop about to start running for it when I saw the timer on the lock light up.
We had roughly 5 minutes till the chemicals started to mix.
I opened my laptop and clipped into the bomb. I knew i couldn't fail this time...and i wouldn't leave unless I stopped that bomb, was killed, or i was dragged out of there. As for the momemt, i could only think one thing to myself,
"We're Fucked."

Chapter 34 (Jasmine P.O.V.) Weeee, this was the greatest trip I've ever had. Please take note of the use of sarcasm. Thank you. I sat silently on the Rowland Boulevard Master Bedroom's bed. Sitting cross legged in the middle, hands in my lap. I stare at the room and shudder; why am I here... well, Kisa sort of bitched about our complaints so as Team Leader, I might as well look at the bright side. I grimace as my hands sting. Damn it, I washed my hands twice but it's still irritating. I look down at my hands again. Jeez, the ONE time I don't wear my gloves, I wind up bruising my hands like an idiot. But I think I was more pissed about the fact that Jack pushed me. Yes, that's it. This only leads to one thing; push him back. Or make him bleed. Either way, I would be satisfied. I lean down and flop on the covers. We've already checked out the headquarters of the Vamps. I was actually disappointed to see the warehouse; I half expected that these guys would be creative with their hideout. Oh, and I shown the team the pictures. No use of seeing how far they can go without the pictures. Besides, once I did, we were immediatley on our way. We're already trying to break into the warehouse at night. Yeah...Kisa walks in, stares around the room, and comes by my bed. She sits on it and lies down beside me. "Eww, there's some shit on the cieling." I blink and notice that for some strange reason, there was a huge-ass spit ball on the cieling. I raise an eyebrow and shake my head, "It makes you think how it got there...." Kisa and me giggle before she asks me, "You ok? You're kinda quiet." "Ah," I pause, rather bluntly. "Um, yeah, I should plan out somethings with you guys in a few." Kisa nods and says, "He's a jerk." I laugh, knowing where her random thought came from. "I've noticed." "You have better options...." "Like?" "How about Kevin?" She perks up, sliding onto her side and propping her elbow against the mattress. She leans her head against her hand and smiles. I laugh, "No... Kevin... is blah." "Blah?" She repeats and giggles. "If blah means hot, he totally is." "Can you two not talk about boys?" Dieon comes in. Kisa glares at him as I sit up, looking at him. Dieon shifts in his spot and says, "It's ten to one, yo." I blink but Kisa and I burst with laughter. I choke out, "Please... don't ever say that. Ok, yo?" Dieon shakes his head and mumbles, "Meeting...." "Right!" I say and jump off my bed. Kisa scrambles off too and we both follow Dieon to the room cramped with mis-matched chairs and couches. Kelly and Madison were already there as Dieon takes place on one of the descent chairs. Kisa looks around and sits on a chair by the door as I start pacing. "Well... you should wear... how about that cling skin? It's material doesn't make a sound while you move and the bonus, it can cling to things." They nod as I continue, "Well... I think that by now you guys have some weapons. Just simply tell me what it is." "Bombs," Dieon says. "Guns," Kelly and Kisa say at the same time. "Intellects?" Madison jokes. We all stare at her and she coughs, "I mean... yeah, guns too... and some bombs." I nod, "Ok... well, no offence, but all these weapons of yours suck like hell. I guess you girls can use your guns but that will be unless we're desperate. Dieon, don't use your bombs. It'll be stupid of you if you do." They nod silently as I start pacing again, "We should try breaking in... in groups of two, ok? Kelly and I will go first... Madison and Kisa will go next and Dieon, you can go with Jack last." I continue pacing when I hear the door open. Oh finally, the majesty has returned to his bloody castle. I frown as he walks in, head down. I stare at him and wonder what's going on. I shake my head and open my mouth but he finally looks up. Wow... depressed much? He turns away and starts his way up the stairs. "Someone should inform him of what's going on," Kisa says, staring at me pointedly. I groan and follow. Once I reach his room, I unnaturally knock on his door. After a beat, I push the door open and see his back facing me. I look at the ground on reflex and ask, "Jack, are you okay?" A rather forced laugh came from his direction and he responds, "What? You're not going to yell at me? Not going to bitch and complain one bit? How un-Jazzy." The idiot doesn't know one thing about me... why is he judging? I walk up to him and tap his shoulder. He pushes it off and I roll my eyes. Finally, I do snap, "Jack, you can't keep acting like this. What we're about to do isn't a simulator... you have to work together with us. No more of this 'shield' that you have up to keep yourself away from us. We're a team, now." I just realize that he was changing in front of me. I shake my head -how rude of him- but I look around, keeping my eyes away from him. He tells me, "Go help your team... because I'm not going to be apart of it." With that, he brushes past me, leaving me feel guilty all over again. ----------------------------------- 1:30 A.M.It's a good thing I like staying up late. Kelly and I are crouched on the grass, staring at the building. I whisper to her, "First the door, then the windows, m'kay?" She nods and says, "I'll be also keeping look out." I smile and nod. They're learning pretty quick.I crawl out and start making my way, Kelly following behind me. I knew somewhere that the other four were watching us as we made our way. I make my way to what seems the least likely guarded door. I carefully grasp the brass door knob and shake it gently. Obviously, locked. I curse; the one time I forget my tools at home. I give up and start walking around the building, only to see the windows I do pick out to be locked, or the other windows being to high. Only a few minutes have pass and I decide there's no more point. I give up and run back to the door, only meeting Kelly. She frowns and shakes her head as do I. Might as well.... We retreat back, heading towards our area. I flop on the ground, "Damn it." She nods and begins checking on the rest of the team. I rub my eyes and lean against the tree, hoping the ten minutes to pass by quickly. I gave everyone a five minute interval so they better go accordingly. After eleven minutes, though, Kelly bites her lower lip. "I think we should go to the building and check what's happening." I nod and we both stand, only to see a man making his way. We both freeze but slam ourselves to the trees by us. I watch as the guy, with a rather large tattoo covering his whole upper half, go without a care in the world by us. I breath out and decide not to waste anymore time. I bolt, Kelly behind, and only to see Kisa and Madison come out too. I immediately see Dieon on the wall, by one of the tall windows, as Jack is staring at him. I smack Jack against his head and glare at him. Why couldn't he stop stupid Dare Devil from climbing. I snap and stare at Dieon, "What the hell do you think you're doing?" I'm starting to think that this is some catch phrase for me. He stares down at me as I call, “Get down here, Dieon! I’m your team leader, remember?” But a sudden explosive sounds echoes. I jump and bend down, covering my head. After a beat, I stare up to see Dieon's legs go through the window. He's going to go far.... I shake my head and start making my way up the wall and through the window. As I jump down the window, inside the warehouse, I look around. I start pacing carefully as Dieon tries to pull pieces of glass from his suit. The problem with clingsuits. I shake my head and keep lookout as everyone else comes in. Kisa jabs Dieon's shoulder. “You could’ve gotten us killed! You never use explosives to get anything open if you’re on a mission like this!” “Hey, it was the only way! I got us in, didn’t I? You girls should be kissing my cheeks right now to thank me for not making you make another lap around the building to find open doors that don’t exist.” He's got to be KIDDING me. I should be slapping some sense into him by now.Kelly and Madison both stepped into the picture. Kelly spoke first. “We ought to be kicking you in both cheeks.” She hissed. “And you know which cheeks.”I burst with laughter and pull Kelly back, "Hey, at least he got us in," I pause, seeing Dieon beam. I pop his bubble by adding, "Despite how stupid it was." "Hey, guys, knock it of for just one minute!" Jack snaps, towards Kelly and Dieon. I let go of Kelly and turn around to realize what we were standing amongst. Dieon and Kelly follow Jack as I sigh and follow them too. Kelly asks, "So... what do we do now?" I shrug, "Well, start looing around for anything out of the ordinary. Bombs, bodies, what ever." Madison blinks at me, "Bodies?" "Trust me, it's usually nothing out of the ordinary," I comment back as I start going towards the left side of the room with her and Kisa. Something was wrong... I could sense it but can't put my finger on it. "So, seriously, can there by really corpse around here?" Madison continues. I continue looking around with Kisa. "Yeah, for testing and shit," I tell her. Was it the way this room was? What was it exactly? "Oh," Madison says, making an 'o' with her mouth for affect. She shakes her head, "What if we come upon one?" "We'll hack it up and throw it in a garbage bag!" Kisa snaps. Madison shudders and I giggle. I shake my head, "Nothing like that, Kisa. We can always leave it or report it to the cops. The family that the body used to be apart of might be worried--" Then it hits me; where the hell are the GUARDS of this place?!"What?" Kisa asks, noticing me rooted in my spot and looking wildly around. I hiss at her, "Keep your voices low and pull out your guns!" "O-Ok," Madison says, a bit scared from my sudden mood swing. I look around. Where are they--A loud bang echoes. My eyes widen and I dash towards the direction where I saw Kelly and Jack head off to. I hear Jack's voice yelling, "GUYS! TURN AROUND!" No need of that, fool. I continue running, Kisa by my side now. There they were, up on some crate. I head towards them, furiously. That was when an onslaught of bullets were coming towards us two. With ease, we starte dodging the bullets. For me, not ease, but rather, experience. You just had to find a rhytem... but you had to find it quickly. But I guess that the idiots shooting let out some alert at the same time. In a moment, I hear doors slamming open and shouts. I turn my head slightly to see more people pouring in. Damn it! I turn my head back to see Jack running towards me. I stare at him as he flies towards me, tackling me aside. He lands on top of me, which makes my whole body scream with pain. I shove him off but he's already moving aside. I glare at him and open my mouth but once again, he bolts. I curse loudly and stand up, pulling out my gun. I load my gun as I see him pulling out his laptop. Why is he-- Just then, I realize there was a bomb here. I shake my head; how did I NOT notice that? I look at Jack clicking away and announcing, "We're fucked." "Tell us something we fucking DON'T know!" Kelly snaps, coming into view and loading a rather large gun. She stares at me and jumps, "Jasmine, you're bleeding!" I jump too and stare down at my clingskin. There was blood on my chest... but it wasn't from me. I stare at Jack and yell at him, "You got shot?!" I guess he took this as ridicule because he glares at me in response. I shake my head; screw the fact that he's bleeding. We fell silent as we look at Jack, clicking away. The silence breaks a second later when a body falls in the middle of us. We all jump and scream. The body was dead and had three holes in it's back. Kisa runs in, gun propped in her hands, "I already shot down the guys on the crates." "We can see that!" Dieon yells. I realize that there still is the people that are coming in, making their way towards us. I snap, "Shit, we have to defend ourselves. Ok, split up but protect this area. No one let the Vamps get to Jack OR that bomb!" They nod and run for it. I yell at Dieon, "NOW YOU CAN USE THOSE BOMBS OF YOURS!" Dieon grins at me and goes behind a row of crates. A beat later, another explosive sound came with the yells of some people. I shake my head and grimmace; it was the only way we can take out them fast. I turn towards Jack, "You better not fuck this up... we're depending on you." "Oh, joy," He responds sarcastically. I groan and run towards the opposite direction, heading towards Kisa and Kelly. I just hope we make this.

Chapter 35 (Kisa's P.O.V) I pushed open the door, tired of their whining while saying,“Quiet, all of you. You’re all such a bunch of whiners.” I roll my eyes, and start for the stairs. Shaking my head, I hear, Master bedroom, and least torn up room. I sigh, this is heaven to some people. I shrug off my pack, as soon as I push open a decent looking room, for this type of house, that is.
“Great.”I murmer, tossing the pack onto my bed. The bed, ugh, almost like prisons. I roll my eyes at the thought, and flop down on the bed. I could hear Jasmine and Jack fighting again. I swear! If they don’t stop, Im going to go crazy. I hear a door slam, and Jasmine going to her room.
I sit up, and make my way to her room. Closing the door quietly, I stare at her room before I sit down and lay on her bad, making a disgusted face. “Eww, there’s some shit on the ceiling.”
Jasmine blinks and stares at the huge spit ball, “It makes you think how it got there...”
We giggle, and I smile still staring up at it. “You ok? Your kinda quiet.” I mean that’s my department. Being quiet.
“Ah,”Jasmine pauses,“Um, yeah, I should plan out something with you guys in a few.”
I nod and say, “He’s a jerk,”in a random kind of way.
She laughs, “I’ve noticed.”
“You have better options..”
“Like?”
“How about Kevin?”I perk up, sliding onto my side, propping myself on my elbow, and leaned my head against my hand, smiling.
She laughs,“No..Kevin...is blah.”
“Blah?”I repeat, totally amazed, giggling. “If blah means hot, he totally is.”
"Can you two not talk about boys?" Dieon comes in. I glare at him as Jasmine sits up, looking at him. Dieon shifts in his spot and says, "It's ten to one, yo."
I looked down, chocking, on laughter. I hear Jasmine who obviously had the same problem, chocked out,“Please...don’t every say that. Ok, yo?”I giggle.
Dieon shakes his head and mumbles, "Meeting...."
“Right!”Jasmine says, jumping off her bed. I scramble off after her, following Dieon into the, ‘living room’, we were having our meeting in.
I look around, of course, they all get the good chairs. I sigh, and seat myself in a chair by the door, watching Jasmine pace.“"Well... you should wear... how about that cling skin? It's material doesn't make a sound while you move and the bonus, it can cling to things." we nod, even though Im thinking, the cling skin, isn’t going to help to much. I rub my thigh, when a ant crossed it. "Well... I think that by now you guys have some weapons. Just simply tell me what it is."She said, looking around. “Bombs," Dieon says.
“Guns,”Me and Kelly say at the same time, I grin.
"Intellects?" Madison jokes. We all stare at her and she coughs, "I mean... yeah, guns too... and some bombs."
"Ok... well, no offence, but all these weapons of yours suck like hell. I guess you girls can use your guns but that will be unless we're desperate. Dieon, don't use your bombs. It'll be stupid of you if you do."Jasmine said, nodding.
"We should try breaking in... in groups of two, ok? Kelly and I will go first... Madison and Kisa will go next and Dieon, you can go with Jack last."she continues pacing, making me dizzy. I groan, Im with Maddie.
I turn my head, when I hear footsteps on the porch, and wait, holding my breath. Then in comes Jack, looking like he had been hit by a car, mentally.
“Someone should inform him of what’s going on.”I say, staring at Jasmine, pointedly.
We watch her go, and look at each, I shrug. “Might as well get ready.”I murmer, standing up, and going to my room. I quickly pull on my cling skin, bending around so my body could get used to it. I grab my bag, latch on my belt, check my watch, five more minutes. I quickly pull my hair up, and tie it back. Grabbing a few guns, my favorite one, sticking them in places, along with ammo. Im ready.
--
1:30 A.M
I soon as I saw it was clear, I made my way towards where we, me and Madison was suppose to be. She held us up, she saw a fucking spider and started screaming. I grabbed her, placing my hand on her mouth, then telling her if she didn’t shut the fuck up, I’ll kill her. That did it. So, now, we are making are way across.
Dieon I murmer, watching him climb up the building. I start after him, only for Madison to hold me back. I watch Jasmine smack Jack in the back of the head. She says something, he says something. I hear a explosion, and push Madison down, covering her, and then me, with my hands.
After a minute, I look up, Dieon and Jasmine were already in the building. I jab Madison to go up, and follow her. I slid through the window, and seek Dieon out.
“You could’ve gotten us killed! You never use explosives to get anything open if you’re on a mission like this!”I say, jabbing him in the shoulders.
“Hey, it was the only way! I got us in, didn’t I? You girls should be kissing my cheeks right now to thank me for not making you make another lap around the building to find open doors that don’t exist.” I glare at him, and roughly pull out a piece of glass, watching him wince.
Kelly and Madison both stepped into the picture. Kelly spoke first. “We ought to be kicking you in both cheeks.” She hissed. “And you know which cheeks.”
I giggle, and sigh.
"Hey, at least he got us in," Jasmine says, I slap Dieon on the back, "Despite how stupid it was."
"Hey, guys, knock it of for just one minute!" Jack snaps, towards Kelly and Dieon.
Jack starts off, with Kelly, Dieon, and Madison behind him. Im off to the side, looking around for doors.
Kelly asks, "So... what do we do now?"
Jasmine shrugs, "Well, start looking around for anything out of the ordinary. Bombs, bodies, what ever." Madison blinks at her, "Bodies?"
"Trust me, it's usually nothing out of the ordinary," Jasmine comments back as she starts going towards the left side of the room with Madison and me.
Im looking around, rolling my eyes, does Madison ever shut up? "So, seriously, can there by really corpse around here?" Madison continues.
“Yeah, for testing and shit,"Jasmine said, sounding thoughtful, I shake my head. Looking around, I bend down and feel across the floor. Nothing.
"Oh," Madison says, making an 'o' with her mouth for affect. She shakes her head, "What if we come upon one?"
By the this time Im getting annoyed. “We'll hack it up and throw it in a garbage bag.” I snap, looking at her.
Madison shudders and Jasmine giggles. Jasmine shakes her head, "Nothing like that, Kisa. We can always leave it or report it to the cops. The family that the body used to be apart of might be worried--"
"What?" I ask, noticing she was rooted in her spot and looking wildly around.
"Keep your voices low and pull out your guns!" She hissed at me, I was already pulling my gun out.
"O-Ok," Madison says, pulling her own gun out shaking.
A loud bang echoes. I started running after, Jasmine runs off, I look up seeing Kelly and Dieon start off too. I have no clue where Madison went. I hear Jack's voice yelling, "GUYS! TURN AROUND!"
I look and start breathing, bullets. Think of prison. Soon, Im dogging them, running towards the crate, I started shooting, clearing everyone down. Blood was oozing every where. There were a few crowed around me, guns pointed at me. I grin, and I pull out a second gun. I shot one in the head, making his brains fall out and splash against another one, while the same bullet him in between the eyes. I kicked a guy out of my way, and shot him as he fell to the ground. I ran down and said. "I already shot down the guys on the crates."Pocketing my other gun, and propping the other one in my hand.
"We can see that!" Dieon yells, I glare at him.
"Shit, we have to defend ourselves. Ok, split up but protect this area. No one let the Vamps get to Jack OR that bomb!" Jasmine snaps.
We nod, running forming a huge circle around Jack. My head was spinning, as a I shot, they shot, a bullet grazed my shoulder. Nothing.
I hear Jasmine yell, something, “GET BACK HERE.”I thought, and shot down a few while watching Kelly and Maddie make their way back to Jack
Kelly and Maddie try and pull Jack away as the chemical counter is down to the last 20 seconds. I can hear all this on the watch, I shake my head, and yell at him over it. I guess he pushes them away and he's starts screaming at them "I CAN STILL FIX IT!!" Then he's not budging so Kelly shoot's him in the shoulder (where he was already shot) and that makes him fall back and she drags him over to Jasmine and Dieon who drag him out. Kisa was already at the exit trying to keep the vampires off them, and Jack keeps struggling as he tries to make it back screaming at Dieon and Jasmine "GO BACK!! MY LAPTOP!! OH FUCK!! KELLY! MADISON!! LET ME GO!! SOMEONE HAS TO HELP THEM!!" Then they glance over to see a good sized group of vampires moving in around them and Jack manages to break free from them. I look, the Chemicals where mixing. I grab Jack, and pull him back, pushing him towards the others.
The pull him out, while he’s cursing us out. I glare at him, “Jack, why don’t you shut the fuck up. I saved your goddamn life, now, if you don’t shut up, your going to get thrown in there, and see if I care!”I yell, advancing on him, the other two pulling me back.
Then there’s a huge explosion, rocks are flying everywhere. We dive behind a truck, watching bodies and rocks fly over us.
Ten minutes later, we were searching through the rocks. We found Madison, she was outside, laying on her back. She was breathing, just not responding. Me and the other two, not Jack, was pulling bodies out.
We were all wondering, Where’s Kelly?, then I felt something under me, as I heaved a rock off of a body. I gasp, “GUYS!”

Chapter 36 [ I wanted to add more, but I couldn't think of anything else. =P ] The blast knocked the wind out of me, my heart was pounding as I knew I was about to die. I hear Kisa calling for the others as I soon start gasping for air. Damn, I should of fucked Vannie's brains out.. I thought to myself, chuckling a bit. The chuckling soon turned to coughing, and blood dripped from my lips. "GUYS!" Kisa screaming, looming over my fragile body. I pull a peice of her brown hair behind her ear with my trembling hand. I look over my body, seeing the cuts and bloody stains on my cute tee-shirt. I slowly sit myself up as I hear a crack in my back. I scream as Kisa stops me from moving. "Don't worry.. I'm not dieing." I smile at her, my eye sight turning blurry. "Fuck. Don't talk. Don't move. Don't do fucking anything." She snapped, as Jasmine and the rest of the group come running. "MOVE!" Dieon yelled, pushing passed Jack and Kisa, kneeling down at my side. "Dieon.." I couch, "You fagget." He pulled his hand on top of mine and held it tight. "You aren't going to die on us!" He demanded, his body started to shake as I grin painfully. "I'm not going to..." Dieon's eyes widened as his grip tightened. "KELLY?!" "...Just kidding." I laugh, as everyone gave me a death glare. "I'm alright." My voice sounded croaky and dry. Our eyes locked as Dieon pulled his shakey arms around me, pulling me into a tight hug. "Ow, Dieon." I mutter in his ear, as he lets go slowly. "I'm sorry." His lower lip trembled as I smiled up at him. We seached each other's eyes as I reach up to my necklace and pull the chain off. I take Dieon's hand and place my necklace in his palm. He looked down at the silver dog tags. In the middle of them had Chinese Symbols. He tilted his head sideways to look at it, with a small confused look on his face. "It means Good Luck, on the back says Wisdom, and on the second one says Love." He turned the second dog tag on the back, and it said few simple words of, "D.K.C." "D.K.C.?" He asked softly, my breathing turned softer by the minute. "Dieon, Kelly, and Carter." I smiled softly at him, then couched. More blood fell from my lip. "You really are dense." I laugh softly as I see his close his fingers close around the dog tags. "Carter is Wisdom, I'm Love. And you are Good Luck. Even if you aren't so lucky." I laugh softly at the though. Dieon gave me a soft smile as I groan slightly. "Carter wanted me to give you that." I groan painfully again, more tears falling from my eyes. The soft crying of Jasmine can be heard as I shut my eyes tightly, groaning slightly. "Kell-Kelly!" Dieon whispered, watching me with go through my pain. "Carter wanted me to give you that! To tell you that you were like family to us!" I started to scream, the pain traveled through my body like lightening. Jasmine's cries grew louder as Kisa joined in with her own tears. Jack looked down at me sadly, no one even thinking about Maddie's state. "KELLY! WE WON'T LOSE YOU!" Dieon yelled, getting caught up in my moments of pain. My lips started to tremble as I spoke again, "Dieon..." My weak hand cups his cheek as I smile at him. "You were always special to me. Never forgot that." My eye sigh blurrys again as he watched me, his eyes watered slowly. The blood ran down my lip as I took in my last breath, "...I love you all." "KELLY!!!" Narative POV "NO! KELLY!" Jasmine screamed, falling to her knees and burred her face into the lifeless body of Kelly Cruse. Kisa fell down next to Jasmine, grabbing Kelly's arm, rocking back and forth on her knees. "Kelly! Don't joke! I'll break your MP3 player! YOUR SK2! KELLY!" She cried out, Jack grabbed her shoulder, stopping her from battering Kelly's body even more. It turned deadly quiet, only the sound crying was the sound. Then the jingle of Kelly's SK2 went off. Jasmine and Kisa both jumped back slightly from it's loud. Dieon dug his hand in Kelly's cargo pants pocket and pulled out her green colored cell phone. He flipped it open and mouth dropped. MiSSxKELLY: I got in a fight with this Kisa chick. >_< CCCCCARTER: Aww. Why? MiSSxKELLY: She stole my MP3, and called it gay or something. I don't remember CCCCCARTER: Lmao. Nice going. MiSSxKELLY: Cheeeyahhh. =] CCCCCARTER: Hey Kelly, I gotta go. BYE! MiSSxKELLY: MMK! ILY! CCCCCARTER HAD JUST SIGNED OFF AT 12:35 AM. CCCCCARTER HAD JUST SIGNED ON AT 2:30 AM.CCCCCARTER: Hey Dieon. It's Carter. How you been? =P CCCCCARTER: Oh yeah, I'm not dead. MiSSxKELLY: CARTER?! IT'S DIEON!!! CCCCCARTER HAD JUST SIGNED OFF AT 2:40 AM. (( DUN DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNN!!! ))

Chapter 37
(Note: Carter coming soon.)
(Dieon’s P.O.V.)
“GUYS!”
I heard Kisa let out a scream, and I brushed off debris from my shoulders. I grabbed a torch and paused, listening to her panicked voice echo. In the torchlight I could see blood in the grass, and then some scratched up earth. It led me to Madison’s body.
Her arm looked like two giant hands had taken them and ripped them apart. I swung the torch around and saw two packs, and a bloodied, sawn off shotgun near them. Jasmine got the packs as I got the gun, trying not to shudder as my hands touched the sticky handle.
I straightened up and at that moment, heard the worst sound in the world, a sob and a squeal. I could spot Kelly’s dickies, about ten metres away, sticking out from a pile of stones. I walked over there as Kisa backed away. I despised her for that, but wished that I could have done the same once I saw Kelly lying there with blood on her smiling lips and eyes staring straight at me.
-----
"I love you all"
“Kelly!!” I kneeled there rather uncomfortably, still holding Kelly in my arms. I felt a hand on his shoulders, but shrugged it away hastily. Her hand grew limp and fell out of my palm.
I walked over to our team leader. I knew how my face must’ve looked to her. Cold and hard, no expression. “Which is Kelly’s pack?” I asked her. Jasmine gave it to me and I searched inside. There were at least a dozen shells rolling around loose. I only took one, loaded the shotgun, and went straight back to the warehouse with a chunk of it missing from the explosion. I stole a glance back at the rest of them, then to the six hoverbikes, and finally to the hundreds of gangsters pouring out of the building with the alarm blaring in the background.
I heard Kisa yell at me out of protest, but couldn’t make out the words through my own conscience clouding my mind.
I arrived at a large metal storage tank that had the same substance that caused the previous explosion. This time the fluid reached above my head and was bound to wipe out a whole city if it went off.
Good.
Let those bitches burn in Hell.
I held the shotgun to the glass compartment containing the substance, and squeezed my eyes shut; then, Jesus help me, without thinking about it, deliberately not letting myself think, I pulled the trigger.
After that everything was a wild rush. I figured we had about two minutes before the fluids mixed and did its job.
My ears were ringing from the noise of the shotgun. I ignored that, and ignored what I’d just done. I turned around to see once again: the half of my team –or those who are still capable of being on the team- and I gulped.
“RUN!!!” I screamed unnecessarily to them. They were already on their heels and sprinting. We were running like hell up the road to the cutting where our hoverbikes stood waiting for us. I heard a loud boom, and knew the fuse was set off.
Kisa was waiting for us by the bikes. She was so pale I thought she’d gone albino.
“What was the shot?” She asked, trembling all over.
“Nothing, Kisa. Be brave.” I gasped for air and half expected her to punch me for telling her to ’be brave’ but I turned to Jack and Jasmine. “Are we ready?”
Neither of them said anything, but just stared over my shoulder. I looked back and saw dozens of men boarding trucks and heading towards us.
“Shit, go!” Jasmine screamed. We all hopped on our bikes simultaneously and raced down the street.
In one of those strange, crazy flashes of intuition I realized how much Jasmine wanted us to make the attack; if tanks had been rolling straight at us, I don’t think she would’ve moved. She was very into honour, and revenge. I wondered for a split second it if had anything to do with her old team. Or was it just another team leader trait?
I only wondered for a split second.
Jack was on my heels, expression determined. He had Kelly on the back of his bike while I hauled Madison.
Kisa looked calmer, but she hasn’t spoken. She had a bottle of alcohol in each hand –and they were not for drinking-.
I could hear the trucks now. The leading ones were dropping a gear, so we were closing the highway. I grabbed my own alcohol bottles from my belt, and fished out a cigarette lighter. The dull headlights of the trucks were starting to show through the trees.
“Bridge up ahead!” Jack roared above the chaos, and four heads turned towards the Queensboro Bridge.
An orange and white construction sign was chained down warning civilians about the gap in the bridge further ahead. I revved the handle of my hoverbike and thank God for adrenaline, full on flew into the sign. I looked at Kisa to give her a queue, and we dropped our bottles of alcohol at the same time while Jack and Jasmine were on both sides of us shooting the tires of our pursuits.
Then I flicked the lighter on and tossed it over my shoulder onto the trail of leaking alcohol.
I felt my seat burn up, and my body threatening to lose contact with the bike. The explosion happened sudden, and this time we didn’t have time to make mistakes as we waited for the fluids to mix.
All four of our bikes got an extra boost from the fire, and one by one each of us got thrown off our seats onto the damp, cold grass of the morning.
At first I thought I was dead. Then I felt pain. Wow, was I ever so glad to feel pain… Jack, Kisa, and Jasmine, were all fine. Fine meaning not dead. Kelly’s and Madison’s bodies were both flung off the back of our bikes and landed a few feet away from us.
I lifted my head up to see the Bridge set itself on fire and fall into the water in chunks, carrying the Vamps down with them.
Rest in peace, Kelly.

Chapter 38[Jack’s P.O.V.]“You better not fuck this up…we’re depending on you.”
Jasmine's words kept ringing through my ears as I continued to pound on the keys of my laptop; pain a constant sensation from the bullet now lodged in my shoulder. Despite the blood on my computer screen, I was making rather nice headway on defusing the bomb.
There was a a third chemical that could mix and render the other two useless…but I just had to figure out the encryption for it and unlock it. I checked the clock:
45 seconds left.
My stare was intense as sweat mixed with blood, and then I felt a surge of heat from behind my back, and I was on the ground clutching my head. A shard from someone’s bomb fucking cut the right side of my head. After a few seconds on the ground, I got back up, and tried to think, but the throbbing pain delayed that process quite a bit.
30 seconds left.
There it was. I found the encryption, and all I had to do was break that stupid code. 5 letters; that’s all it took. I closed my eyes, and the chaos seemed to fade away…and just as realized the pass code, I felt two arms grab mine, and start hauling me back wards.
I opened my eyes to see Kelly and Madison dragging me back…only 15 seconds till those chemicals mixed, and this place exploded. The pain in my arm was intense, and only further added to the throbbing sensation in my head. I fought back as much as I could,
“LET ME GO!! STOP! LET ME GO!! I CAN DO IT!! I CAN STOP THAT BOMB!! LET YOU GO YOU STUPID BITCHES!!”
I managed to break free and I started running back towards the laptop, and I feel a fiery sensation in my shoulder as fresh blood was now flowing; that stupid bitch, Kelly, shot me in the fucking shoulder.
Then I felt Kisa grab me, dragging me back out of the building, and when I focused and realized what was happening I saw Madison and Kelly being swarmed by Vamps.
“LET ME GO!! MADISON! KELLY!! KISA YOU IDIOT!! LET ME GO! MY LAPTOP! WE HAVE TO HELP THEM!! THE BOMB I CAN STILL—“
I didn’t have to say anymore.
I saw a red and clear chemical mix, and then there was a blind flash as everything went white; for the first time it was silent.
I thought I had died.
Then there was a roar as the bomb finally made its impact. After a few seconds, I stood and looked at what used to be the warehouse…now rubble remained.
I glared at Kisa “YOU STUPID FUCKER!! I COULD HAVE SAVED US ALL! NOW LOOK!”
“I JUST SAVED YOUR FUCKING LIFE!! SO JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP, JACK!”
I walked away grabbing a shot gun and spotted some bodies among the rubble; some of those bastards were still alive. I stood over them, my face was emotionless as I pulled the trigger; a hole appeared in the guy’s head and now blood rolled onto the cement. I stepped over the body and found a girl and a guy…
They looked up at me, searching for sympathy, mercy, anything…but there was nothing. Two more shots; two more dead.
I found another and I pulled only to hear a hollow click; out of bullets. So I reached down and grabbed a rock, then dropped it on his head. I was now a god to these pathetic creatures…merciless, and vengeful.
I saw the group gathered round someone and I it turned out to be Kelly. I watched silently as she spoke…and I remained silent as she died. I placed my hand on Kisa’s shoulder in an attempt to try and comfort her, for now she was rocking back and fourth holding Kelly’s arm.
After a few moments, I looked up hearing an alarm, and saw vampires start swarming out; don’t they ever stop coming?
“Guys! I found Madison!” Kisa screamed.
I glanced over at her, and I saw Dieon walking off with a shot gun; he pulled the trigger, and I wanted to hit him. The fucking idiot…
I heard him yell “Run!” but I didn’t need that idiot to tell me what to do. I scooped up Kelly’s body, holding her in my arms, and saw Dieon carry Madison to his bike. Kisa was already on her bike, and I placed Kelly on the back of mine. Dieon turned to me and Jasmine, “Are we ready?”
I said nothing, and Jasmine replied
“SHIT!! GO!”
I revved my engine, and shot off after the rest of the 3; I glanced back over my shoulder…2 bikes remained: Kelly and Madison’s.
I turned back around, now ignoring that pain from the gash on my head, and the two bullets in my shoulder. Kelly was lucky she died…otherwise I’d make her life hell for that. Still, complete concentration was the look upon my face as I kept close to Dieon.
A few moments passed and then I pulled ahead of him. I saw a bridge up ahead; just our luck, it was drawed up. I turned back and shouted to the others “BRIDGE UP AHEAD!”
Then I saw Dieon toss something over his back, and everything happened so fast. I went soaring through the air, and next thing I knew I was flying off my bike towards the grass; that fucking genius.
I wasn't sure when i had landed, but my eyes were closed and I muttered silently to myself “Terra firma.” I was alive…I knew that; the pain was too great for me to be dead. I was resting on my back, and I dared not open my eyes; I lay there, and Jasmine’s words haunted my thoughts:
“You better not fuck this up…we’re depending on you.”
That’s all I could hear…and I coughed slightly, as it was now not only her voice, but soon Rowan’s, then my mother’s, and then Kelly and Madison’s, and at last I could picture Night. His looked at me, and shook his head sadly…then he began dissolving. Blood poured from cuts that materialized, his eyes rolled from his head, and a chalky liquid began pouring from the spots that his bones showed through. His brains began leaking from empty eye sockets, and intestines fell from an open jaw.
I opened my eyes and it was all gone…and I just heard one last echo of Jasmine’s words. I fucked everything up. I could have defused that bomb…the code was blood! B-L-O-O-D! BLOOD!! I figured out that damn code…and they pulled me away just before I could type it. Then, if that was the wrong code, it was still my fault because I made them stay behind…if I hadn’t of been there, they could’ve gotten out, and saved themselves.
I could have died, and the rest of the team could be perfectly fine right now. I am the one person they don’t need…and I caused two casualties instead of my own.
After a long moments silence, I saw everyone standing over me, acting as if I was dead. Coughed and I heard Jasmine speak softly “Are you alright?”
I sat up and saw the bridge in flames and struggled to stand; I got up, but it wasn’t graceful. I glanced around and got my baring, then started walking off only to see my team just seeing me in one of my moods; glad to know they have learned to deal with me.
I was about a half mile away from them and alone for almost 15 minutes, and then I heard someone in the bushes. I didn’t turn, and the voice that spoke to me confirmed my suspicions on who it was.
“Jack,”
Jasmine sat beside me, and glanced at the cut on my head.
“You’re hurt…”
“Not the first time.” I said coldly, looking at the ground instead of her face.
“Jack! Don’t even start with this whole wall shit! I’m just trying to help you—“
I jerked my head towards her, and spoke harshly,
“Help me? What about Kelly?! What about Madison? Why didn’t you help them?!”
“I—“
I cut her off yet again,
“You know why? Because it was my fucking fault! I could have defused the bomb! I could have saved everyone! Then, I was the reason those two stayed behind; to save my life! I am nothing…I can’t do shit right, and everything I do bites me in the ass.”
I said putting my head in my hands.
She reached out and put a hand on my arm and spoke softly “Jack…it’s over.”
I ripped my arm away and regretted doing that; I let a small groan escape as a shockwave of pain went through my body. I stood and took a few steps away from her, and kept my back towards her.
“Jack, you did your best…”
I spoke softly; for one of the first times in years, a tear rolled down my cheek,
“But my best was failure.”
Jasmine stepped towards me I felt her hand slide onto mine, stroking the back of it gently. I turned my head away, so she wouldn’t know of my tears, but her hand turned it back towards her. She didn’t smile, but she looked at me with a warm intensity; I felt her thumb brush away the tear as her hand rested on my cheek.
We stood there for a few moments, and she rose up, and I felt her lips press against mine. My arms wrapped around her, and she ended the kiss, and rested her head on my chest, and she spoke softly,
“You didn’t fail me.”
Those words pierced into me like daggers; contradicting the phrase which still floated around my head. We stood then for what felt like eternity, but in reality it had been only 3 minutes. She pulled back slightly, and looked up at me,
“Jack…what has passed, has passed. The team does not blame you; the only one who blames you is yourself.”
I went to open his mouth and Jasmine stood up and kissed me, putting me into submissive mood once more, and preventing me from putting up that infamous wall of mine. She ended the kiss and gave me a hug, speaking softly “Let’s head back…we’ll get you and everyone else fixed up.” --- I sat alone in my room with my shirt off; bandages were around my left bicep, my chest and shoulder, and butterfly stitches on the cut just below my hair line on the right side of my face.
I sat, staring at the floor, knowing Kelly and Madison were in a room, and Dieon was finishing being bandaged up by Kisa; Jasmine was in the room across from mine, and I could hear her reporting back to Mr. Bouvier.
I put my head in my hands and let out a let out a sigh. I had bandaged up myself, so I hadn’t seen anyone for the past 2 hours; personally, I really didn’t want to face them either. --- It had been 8 hours, and everyone had been called down to eat dinner, and now returned to their rooms for sleep. Still, I sat on my bed, never moving from that position. I knew Kelly didn’t deserve to die, or Madison to suffer hell knows how serious those burns were; I should have…I deserved it.
Still, Jasmine’s words continued you haunt me:
“…we’re depending on you.”
I stood and paced around for a few moments and before I could tell what I was doing I slammed my fist into the wall; now a hole lay where dry wall once was. Pain surged through my arm as I kept flexing the muscles that I had damaged, but I didn’t care.
I still sat there, some dust now apparent on my long black pants. My stomach growled, but I refused to eat as I drove my fist into the wall a few more times. Then I heard the handle turned and I glanced and saw Jasmine looking at me once more.
I glanced at my knuckles which were now bloodied as my last punch had led me into a 2x4, and splinters lodged themselves into my flesh. I shook my hand and glanced away from her, for her gaze seemed too strong.
I saw her turn and push Kisa and Dieon back to their rooms, and then she closed the door, and stood looking at me. Neither of us moved, as we stared across the room. The only noise:
Silence.
